To think waking up having an orgasm is uncommon (women)

YABU - it happens to me
YANBU - never experienced it

Just that really. The male equivalent is so well known and talked about (I think it was even covered in either biology or PSHE at school!). I never realised the same could happen to women so was pleasantly surprised the first time it happened to me. It's not a common thing for me, averaging about once every 2 years since I was in my early 20s. Often when I have a full bladder, usually accompanied by an appropriate dream but not always.

Yes. I have had this - most recently in early pregnancy! I am usually having some kind of sex dream and then I wake up.

ReneBumsWombats · 14/08/2022 08:17

I've had similar experiences to the woman whose boyfriend could make her come just by kissing etc.

It isn't about a superpower. It's about the dynamic between you and the headspace it puts you in. He won't have that effect on everybody.

I’m concerned about a Harry met Sally moment when l sleep on a plane now!

Quite! Don’t nod off at the theatre either! Blush

liveforsummer · 14/08/2022 08:28

It happens, usually part of a dream which of course we don't always remember or a conscious of so likely the case even if you don't realise. I'd be surprised to hear it's uncommon

Sparklingbrook · 14/08/2022 08:29

Having one in a dream - absolutely it’s the waking up bit I’m not familiar with.

MoonBat · 14/08/2022 08:35

It's happened to me a few times, when I've been having a sexy dream. I enjoy it but I can also see how it may not be a pleasant experience.

If this does end up in the Daily Heil I imagine the comments section will include at least one incel claiming that the female orgasm doesn't exist, because sex is only to please men.

JuliePi · 17/10/2022 00:42

It’s happened to me a few times too and always busting for a wee but love it and will finish myself off if I need to or I wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep… and need to go to the loo straight afterwards anyway.

Yep a few times .. normally just before a period and when pregnant.. definitely hormones induced

Just an FYI, ejaculation and orgasm aren't synonymous for blokes. I've ejaculated every time I've orgasmed, but I've not orgasmed every time I've ejaculated.

This is rare when awake (unless you're going for a "ruined orgasm"). Far less rare when asleep. Ejaculating in my sleep isn't necessarily coupled with a naughty dream or an orgasm

Bagpuss2022 · 17/10/2022 02:00

I have had this but along with a nightmare about my childhood SA and R it really affected me took many sessions with my psychologist to unpick it

JulieS1 · 22/02/2023 15:20

Ive had this a few times. Usually about 4am / 5am in the morning and after having a few drinks. Deep sleep, some very powerful dreams. Not orgasmed while asleep but wake up very turned on, and like others have mentioned a full blada and desperate for a wee. Think it is the power of the mind. Nice power of the mind!

notthisagainn · 22/02/2023 15:30

Happened to me a few times. Enjoyed it

xogossipgirlxo · 22/02/2023 15:34

I had it quite few times and enjoy it. It happens mostly when I had long-ish break from sex (like 2 weeks).

margegunderson · 22/02/2023 17:58

Used to happen quite often

Helen123S · 24/02/2023 22:05

Just come across this thread and thought it was just me and I was strange! lol
I have had these a few times. The last one was a few weeks ago after being out for the envying and a few drinks with friends. Got home in the mood for sex, but other half was fast asleep and had an early start the next day, so went to bed and ignored the need. Had most intense powerful sexual dream, woke up hugely turned on and body screaming for sex! So the mind and dreams is a really powerful thing. :)

discobrain · 25/02/2023 03:51

This happens to me quite often.

HarlanPepper · 25/02/2023 05:00

Happens to me semi-regularly - usually when I also need a wee, so I assume it's something physiological. It's not that pleasant tbh.

Mumskisail · 25/02/2023 06:12

Happens to me sometimes, I'm usually having a nice dream and have a full bladder. Sets me up for the day 😂
