To think Apple is far superior to android?

In terms of iPhones are better than android? Is it true that androids are less secure and more likely to have viruses? And that they crash and become unresponsive a lot? I have an iPhone but DH has an android and I can’t even use it, I hate it

I've used both and like both equally. They're different but one isn't worse than the other.

Wineislifealways · 08/08/2022 21:30

He’s always complaining about lack of storage on his android phone too

I have an iPhone and prefer it aesthetically but my battery is rubbish compared to DPs android and my phone crashes and freezes a lot and his doesn't

I can’t even use DH’s phone, I don’t know you manage to use both and like both tbh 😂

Wait your iPhone crashes and freezes more than his android? Which iPhone do you have? Mine has never done that x

Each have their strong points.
I prefer my iphone over my work android but hate the fact the cheapest iphone is a about £450 and my perfectly good android costs £170!!

but yes iphone support security updates way longer

Why though? X

Prefer android as does dh. He hates his apple work phone

vegang · 08/08/2022 21:33

I have the XR, it freezes so I can't swipe all the time or the top left corner goes blurry a lot and I have to restart the phone and I have to charge my phone 2-3 times a day whereas his battery will last him two days

Jumpstark · 08/08/2022 21:33

I have an Android and my daughter has an Apple.

I get annoyed that Apple deliberately make it hard to manage her phone from an Android device. They're trying to force me onto team Apple and I refuse!!

Thriftytits · 08/08/2022 21:33

I have an iPhone at the mo and I phoned O2 today to switch to android. I chickened out last minute 😂

My battery doesn’t last, my phone overheats, the signal is worse than my husbands Android on O2 in the same spot and the updates are silly.

But the apps are a bit nicer.

On another note I’ve just switched from a Mac to PC and I’m finding the switch very hard but I’m a designer & used to my CAD working in a particular way

Androids are known for having more storage than iPhones? Most Androids have 128GB storage compared to 64GB on most standard iphones..

Sunnyqueen · 08/08/2022 21:34

I've had both over the years at different times but definitely sold on android now.

ReviewingTheSituation · 08/08/2022 21:34

I have Android, DH has apple. I'm very happy with mine (I have none of the issues you list above), DH is increasingly frustrated with his iphone (a 10, I think).

I don't think one is better than the other in general, they're just different. I don't agree with all the people who insist apple is much easier to use (I have an ipad, so I'm familiar with the apple family) - my android is completely foolproof.

Many people who have iPhones have simply succumbed to their very good marketing. Most won't admit it, but it's true!

Wineislifealways · 08/08/2022 21:34

Is an iPhone 11 old? That’s what I have x

CapMarvel · 08/08/2022 21:36

I hated the one iPhone I had.

The interface is shit and they, like all Apple products are vastly overpriced.

Itreallyistimetogo · 08/08/2022 21:37

I was team apple for a long time but prefer android now. I wouldn't go back. I have an ipad and I hate it, wish I'd gotten an android tablet.

AYearOfCushions · 08/08/2022 21:37

I think the same OP and my DH uses Android too.
I've had the same iPhone for 5 years now and still going strong, no battery issues etc

DH is on his 4 android in that time. I joked with him the other night that he doesn't have to ever worry about me going through his phone because I wouldn't know how to use it!

CreateIn · 08/08/2022 21:37

I love my android, switched from apple. Much better value for money in terms of system speed, storage and battery.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 08/08/2022 21:38

I was talking to a police officer recently and she said not even they can get into an iPhone. Like if they need to get in it if they're questioning someone. They're super secure

Thriftytits · 08/08/2022 21:39

This thread is encouraging me to make the switch to android.

Can anyone recommend their Android phone?

Thanks :)

Mardyface · 08/08/2022 21:39

Apple has brilliant marketing.

Scrapologist · 08/08/2022 21:40

I've never used Apple, but I'm happy with my Android. It never crashes, so not sure what the issue with your husband's phone is. I'd be happy with more storage, but it's not actually a problem as I've yet to run out of storage. Next time I'll just be sure to get a phone with expandable storage, since I like the idea of having more.

I don't like the idea of paying more for the Apple brand, so I'm sticking with Android.
