Does anyone else think dragonflies are absolutely disgusting ?

They're like bird sized insects to me that make me want to gag. Is that just me or does anyone else hate them and see them this way ?

Well I think they’re actually really beautiful but we live near a really big lake and they often end up trapped in our kitchen which I’d rather didn’t happen!

Oh! I love them I think they're beautiful! Was kayaking the other day and dragonflies dancing on the water was my favourite bit! Not a fan of silverfish... so I guess we all have our hang ups 🙂

They're just so gross, just googled pics of them and feel ill. Serious insect phobia. Does anyone know where insect phobia comes from ?

They‘re utterly beautiful and delicate, one of the joys of nature. I agree with a PP about dragonflies while kayaking, such a wonderful experience.

You do realise that without insects life on earth would cease? How utterly bizarre to hate the things that keep everything in the biosphere functioning.

I love them. Tbh, not a lot of bugs bother me.

I even like moths which people seem to hate. There are some truly beautiful moths out there. Even more beautiful than butterflies

Bird sized? Millions of years ago when the atmosphere was denser and could support larger insects, they were almost two feet across!
