Just that really. Being a guest can be expensive. All the travel too. Finding babysitters. IMO she needs to stop getting married. It’s not working for her. I want to politely decline but I know she’s going to take it badly.

@MySonFury sorry to hear about your dad's troubles and I hope he does have lasting happiness. His case is a different kettle of fish though, he only has one "failed" marriage, not three.

I've been to a 4th wedding btw. He was only 55. I think it was her first or second marriage. All 3 previous marriages of his ended in divorce (rather than widowed). The wedding was 2yrs ago and they are still together. Time will tell!

I've been married twice, to two abusive men. The thoughts that my friends could act like a lot of posters on this thread if I actually found a decent man that I wanted to marry makes me really sad. Some people don't always get lucky with their perfect partners first time around.

The trick is to lower your standards.

Then lower them some more.

And then a bit more.

It's fine to politely decline. I wouldn't say the stuff about "Stop getting married it's not working for you" obviously but I don't think you would say that anyway. You never know she may have had counselling and learned where she is going wrong

1. Received insufficient presents

1. Received insufficient attention on social media

1. Bride has lost weight and wants new photos

1. Life is boring and want to add an event
