Are Tory voters that stupid?

Listening to Tory after Tory coming on TV this morning and almost every one has mentioned Jeremy Corbyn as the fear factor in voting Labour at the next election. Seriously - is that the best argument they have got to steer the public disgust at this government's behaviour away from them?

It worked last time

Staggersaurus · 07/07/2022 10:09

Yup!

Anothernamechangeplease · 07/07/2022 10:10

Yeah, it worked last time, and frankly, what else do the Tories have going for them right now?!

SteamingHind · 07/07/2022 10:11

Ironically, I blame Labour for all this shit.

In 2010, they picked the wrong Miliband. If David had been elected leader, I'm sure they'd have won 2015. No referendum, no Brexit, no Al Johnson and his comedy "Boris" alter ego. None of the shite we all have to deal with now.

Ponoka7 · 07/07/2022 10:11

Except for Brexit not one of them can say what the Tory party do to make their lives better. Not one could say what the fear of JC is. They are most definitely that stupid. I'm still amazed at the Tory voters in old mining/industrial towns.

StoneofDestiny · 07/07/2022 10:12

Heaven help us all if totally stupid people vote in a wholly corrupted Tory Party again. Totally scary. These ones jumping ship at the 11th hour where supporting Johnsons lies and criminal behaviour over and over er again - worried only for their own jobs.

It's like a cult for idiots who don't care about anyone but themselves.
The lack of critical thinking is astounding.

BJBeGone · 07/07/2022 10:13

Always voted Tory but won't any more.

Ashamed to admit that I voted Tory in real life.

thereisonlyoneofme · 07/07/2022 10:14

Well whatever party is in government, no one is happy with what they do.

It's a worried day because I'm so pleased he is going, yet petrified of who will come next-we are all still in the hands of people so ludicrous that they choose to join the Conservative party. So we might end up in a worse boat. Priti Patel. Suella Braverman. Good help us.

warofthemonstertrucks · 07/07/2022 10:17

*weird

Lazypuppy · 07/07/2022 10:18

I saw a headline today about 'I suported Boris and it's ended terribly but thank goodness he saved us from Corbyn and Remainers'

Uhm, Remaining would definitely have been better and I can't see how Corbyn could have done a worse job than this lot!

stackhead · 07/07/2022 10:20

I'm a fairly (apparently rare) swing voter. I've voted Tory, Labour, Lib Dem and Green over the course of my voting history.

I voted Tory for the first Corbyn election because yes, I didn't agree with Corbyns policies. It wasn't about the man, it was about the policies. I read the manifesto didn't think they were detailed properly and voted accordingly.

For what it's worth I voted Labour in the last election (still Corbyn).

Don't lump us all in the same boat. Some of us are still capable of nuance.

sst1234 · 07/07/2022 10:20

I think anyone that calls voters stupid, is stupid. That’s how you got yourself in this mess in the first place. Calling socially conservative voters stupid. Keep going, who needs an opposition when you have smug, superior, enlightened, progressives to alienate voters.

Well, I admire your honesty and courage in admitting this.

I have never understood why anyone votes Tory in any election, let alone why anyone would vote for the Tories under Boris Johnson. However, the fact is, a lot of the electorate did exactly that, so you were not alone.

BJBeGone · 07/07/2022 10:21

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and vote, it's called having the privilege of living in a democracy.

We are also entitled to change our mind on reflection of poor decisions made.

x2boys · 07/07/2022 10:21

Well ,calling people stupid because they don't vote the way you think they should isn't going to make them change their mind is it?
Most people vote for the party they feel represents their views the most ,that doesn't mean they blindly agree with everything the party does neither are they stupid
Perhaps the stupid iones ,are the ones who can't see any of this?

I’ve long blamed Ed Miliband for all this shit.

StarDolphins · 07/07/2022 10:23

Calling people stupid?! Everyone is entitled to feel how they feel!

heartchakra · 07/07/2022 10:24

I always said Corbyn was a secret Tory - almost single-handedly won the election for them last time.

SerialNameChanger2114 · 07/07/2022 10:24

I won’t be voting conservative again 🤷🏼‍♀️
