To hope Johnson doesn't resign?

Because if he clings on until the next GE, he'll be completely unelectable and we'll be rid of the Tories.

I'm hoping he digs his heels in just like he always has, even though by rights he should be fucking off with his tail between his legs.

As long as the baby boomers are still being fed then who knows.

sst1234 · 05/07/2022 20:54

The Tories are ruthless. Boris is a no one when it comes to the party. It’s party first and personality second. That why the Tories win GEs.

Bluebellsand · 05/07/2022 20:54

Nat6999 · 05/07/2022 18:59

I hope he calls a general election in a back me or sack me move.

I hope for this too. It would be interesting to see what the general population want.

AffIt · 05/07/2022 20:55

And I say that as an actual woman, with XY chromosomes and all.

Fuck! I got my science wrong. Obviously, I meant 'with XX chromosomes and all'.

Sorry, science.

So you want Labour to win by default?

How about Labour get their act together and get elected because they're the best, not just because the Tories are currently a shambles.

the80sweregreat · 05/07/2022 20:56

If Starmer and Raynor have to resign over the beer gate allegations etc then a snap GE will be a disaster for Labour too
None of this is good at all.

Damnautocorrect · 05/07/2022 20:58

I agree. He needs to stay to stop people voting Tory. If they called an election with a new leader there’s a good chance people will want to give them a chance

Bloodyel · 05/07/2022 20:59

Whether he stays or goes the next election will be won by Labour because in a couple of year's time 90% of the country's wealth will be owned by about 4 people

ReformedWaywardTeen · 05/07/2022 21:01

Boris won't go quietly, he strikes me as someone who will bring the whole lot down with him.
And I'm here for it. I hope the best thing that comes out of the nightmare of the last few years of this party, and I am including May and Cameron in that too, is the end of the Tories for decades to come.
I hope they end up polling behind Labour, the Libs and Greens.

The disgraceful shite they've caused to so many deserves to come back and bite them hard. Corrupt and evil. Rotten to the core.

StarDolphins · 05/07/2022 21:03

I hope Labour get in pronto….

Then when the country stays in the terrible state it’s in, people might realise they’re all as crap as each other…

Imagine Starmer/Corbyn navigating us through (Global) problems of Covid/cost of living crisis😱😱🤣🤣🤣

the80sweregreat · 05/07/2022 21:07

How does anyone know how the opposition would have dealt with anything when they haven't been in power for 12 years ?
Makes me laugh when people say this because nobody knows ! ..

At least he knows what a woman is and what body parts they don't have.

Oh for god sake, really? He knows what a woman is very well and if they arent shagging him or propping him up in his job by worshipping him, he does not give a flying fuck about their rights.

Boris has unleashed the blue bots and even they seem to be resigning on him lately.

Thatswhyimacat · 05/07/2022 21:12

VladmirsPoutine · 05/07/2022 19:15

I don't think so tbh. I think Boris will be forced to go but the country at large is wedded to toryism. Remember when the idea of broadband being a national right was floated and people thought that an absolutely absurd idea? Or the idea of magic money trees and so forth. Thing is the Brits in my view are wedded to misery i.e. no-one should have anything nice if I can't either.

My favourite part of that was the pandemic hitting right after and everyone having to work from home. Bet they all fancied some free broadband then, especially as there was seemingly unlimited money for furlough.

I was thinking that might have been part of the plan 80's. Anything is possible with this lot.

My Shep would do a better job. He’s a collie cross and obsessed with tennis balls.

the80sweregreat · 05/07/2022 21:17

Sir Kier looked ill to me on tv just now .
A man who is thinking ' oh no , I might be left with all this shit to clear up'
If he stays on of course. I'd like to think he isn't scared of it , but I know I would be.
It's a poisoned chalice for sure because things are going tits up for the country and it's not looking good on many fronts.
Be interesting to see if Durham police make any statements soon.

Bluebellsand · 05/07/2022 20:54

I hope for this too. It would be interesting to see what the general population want.

Look what the general population have wanted since the brexit vote and this current shower of shit
as someone else wrote as long as the baby boomers are being fed we’ll see
there is an increasingly cynical, no contemptuous manipulation of the worst fears of various tory voter demographics old and new

i still worry that this narcissistic chump - who’d be out of his depth in little Wilf’s overpriced paddling pool - is still not down and out yet

I hope he calls a general election in a back me or sack me move.

He might. He’s a gambler.

But my money is him ignoring it. He doesn’t care, never has, and doesn’t have to resign. Why would he? Who can make him?

If he carries on as normal, he’ll certainly drag the Tory Party to depths even it has never seen, and render it utterly unelectable. Starmer needs to find away to appeal to masses, somehow, or we’ll be hung again.

Boris, sorry Alexander Johnson cares only for himself. The party donors are more important than the party. The UK is away down his list of priorities

maddy68 · 05/07/2022 21:21

I agree. He's a gift to the opposition

Jetstream · 05/07/2022 21:22

YahBooFucks · 05/07/2022 21:23

I think I agree with you OP.

And also, to the people saying 'who else is there to vote for?'. Labour, obviously 🙄.

Blossomtoes · 05/07/2022 19:06

Are you seriously this lacking in imagination? My dog would be a better bet.

Is your dog going to be standing? Because the rest of the party leaders don't look particularly inspiring.
