To hope Johnson doesn't resign?

Because if he clings on until the next GE, he'll be completely unelectable and we'll be rid of the Tories.

I'm hoping he digs his heels in just like he always has, even though by rights he should be fucking off with his tail between his legs.

People still wont vote Labour in OP. The Lib dems and Greens have got the best shot theyve had since the 90s 😅

jgw1 · 05/07/2022 22:39

Because he is so good at identifying women I will vote for him.

Identifying them as hot totty, unless they are of course postboxes. The man gives no fucks about women's rights he just knows that it will be a sure vote winner.

TambourineOfRepentance · 05/07/2022 22:44

Brits at least have gumption and belief in themselves to take their destiny in their own hands and not bow down to those who set themselves above us and seek to rule over us without our authority.

Indeed. That's why us Brits elect our head of state instead of retaining an unelected one based on the idea of superior bloodlines and "it's traditional". Not like those boot-licking frogs across the channel.

He is good at identifying the younger ones apparently.

Eeksteek · 05/07/2022 22:56

I just went down a bit of a Winston Churchill rabbit hole. He did resign as PM (but not as leader of the Tory Party). On July 5, 1945.

Bloody hell. D’you reckon Sunak did that on purpose?

(And don’t get excited, he got back in again in 51. He survived 2 heart attacks and a few strokes in various offices, as well. And he started all this ‘special relationship’ bootlicking with the US. I tell you, Johnson will not go until he’s physically removed. They’ll have to issue a notice to quit and get the Bailiffs into no 10 after 3 months. He thinks he inherited the PM job, just the way wealth and other titles are inherited in his world. He doesn’t think he earned it, or has to do anything to keep it, he just thinks it cane to him automatically, like the family business. I hope the Queen gives him hell)

Well, actually, we saved you both.

It’s the ‘no-one knows what a woman is’ that’s going to keep the Tories in power, of course.

It’s so dangerous. Look how your current PM treats the women in his life, and decide based on that what he thinks of women. He does not give a shit about women Orr their rights. Use them and lose them is motto. That’s what he thinks women are for. He cares about only being PM

You're the only person to have mentioned this on the thread and yet No voters call us obsessed Hmm

I was going to reply to morriszap but i was too busy shining my new shortbread tin and putting up my nicola sturgeon posters...cos we're all desperate Hmm

TooBigForMyBoots · 05/07/2022 23:02

The Tory Party are not actively rejecting women's rights...

Yes they are. They refused to make misogyny a Hate Crime and they have refused to protect abortion rights. You are placing a lot of trust in them if you believe they are going to fix what they have broken. They are the government, if they wanted to protect women's spaces, womens rights and free speech, they'd have done it by now.🤷‍♀️

Carla2601 · 05/07/2022 23:03

Couldn’t agree more, if he goes they have time to regroup. He has to stay and continue to trash the party (I mean it’s always been trash but now it’s just more obvious than ever)

At least he knows what a woman is!

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 05/07/2022 23:15

I would be surprised if Boris is still in charge by the end of the Summer. I wouldn’t be totally shocked if he’s gone by the end of the week.

TM got a better result in her no confidence vote in Dec 18 than BJ in June 22. She survived another 6 months. The clock has been ticking for him ever since.

The Tories are ruthless. Nobody is bigger than the Party - not even Thatcher.

So who will be the dead sheep this time?

TooBigForMyBoots · 05/07/2022 23:18

At least he knows what a woman is.

Depends what day you ask him.😆 www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1501654/Boris-Johnson-GB-News-latest-Conservative-Party-speech-woke-cancel-culture-woman-cervix-vn/amp

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 05/07/2022 23:25

I have no idea how anyone can still consider voting Tory. The argument that "they can define what a woman is" is utter nonsense when you consider the fact that literally everything they say turns out to be a lie.

It would be useful if all you jingoistic Brexit voters would paint a small bullseye on your foreheads so that we can easily find you when the food riots start.

ftsejane · 05/07/2022 23:30

Maybe he’ll sign Sect 30 to allow a Scottish referendum cos it’s the only way that England can be engaged in the process. If Supreme Court decides a referendum is a democratic right then only Scotland will be involved with no engagement by Westminster. How desperate is he for support?
Och to blazes - he is a lying sleazy s…bag and has to go - as far away as possible. And yet - from news tonight - middle England still loves him!! Can u believe? Flying in the face of fact.

PrinnyPree · 05/07/2022 23:30

Nah I don't mind him going, he's a fucking disaster but he still courts the right wing populist vote that used to back Farage. Also Mick Lynch was right, he's unembarrassable and some people think that's just part of his character. "Oh Boris getting a blow job off his mistress at work, what a lad, he's trying his best bless him..."

Having a "character" in charge is dangerous and he's very good at getting the working classes ripping each other to shreds over manufactured "woke" culture war bullshit than foodbanks and corruption at the top.

Assanctamonioysastheycome · 05/07/2022 23:31

Lol funny how the 'life long lefty' GC types always roll up on treads like these telling us the tories are feminists. Like bl*y clockwork.

DragonPanda · 05/07/2022 23:32

I have a horrible feeling that he won't go and that he will stay for another decade at least.

Tirednurse1 · 05/07/2022 23:32

My prediction after the events are a night, as a socialist.

A snap GE which BJ will win - a mandate for corruption. A cabinet of sex offenders, fake Christian’s and those that have failed upwards.

  1. To keep their majority right wing English supporters happy anything and everything will be on the table - Human Rights - gone. Abortion - gone. Right of LGBT to exist - gone. Asylum seekers shot as they cross on boats - done. Death penalty - back. Whatever it takes to placate their extreme right wing supporters in England. I have heard all of these disgusting views from Tory voters.

  2. The end of workers rights - unions crushed. The speeding up of the end of the public sector.

If you vote Tory, you are giving them a mandate - are you willing for women to continue to die under a Tory government over a single issue then the blood of women will be on your hands. The Tories have rich, white and straight ‘feminists’ right where they want them. The Tory mandate is not single issue.

mooneagle · 05/07/2022 23:34

Boris has got such a brass neck… if that many people in my work thought I was that incompetent I would be too embarrassed to show up.

Where do these public schoolboys get their shamelessness from?!

1000chairs · 05/07/2022 23:34

Only on mumsnet...would so many approve of a serial adulterer, proven liar and man of dubious character being PM of England. 🙄😮

ftsejane · 05/07/2022 23:39

Ruth Davidson! 😂😱😂😱😂😱😂

WiddlinDiddlin · 05/07/2022 23:41

I really don't know what I want to happen for actual best results for the country.

I know I'd LIKE him and his cronies to be fired out of a fucking big cannon and dropped into the sea... but they'd probably float, turds often do.

Back in reality - Boris has wanted this so long, by any means, at any cost - he will NOT let go til is absolutely forced to do so. He gives zero fucks what anyone thinks about him, he doesn't care, he never EVER has AND he doesn't give a single shit about the outcome of anything because HE will be fine no matter what.

Fifteentoes · 05/07/2022 23:47

Kennykenkencat · 05/07/2022 22:30

You have to wonder why they haven’t been in power for 12 years

Because the largest bloc of voters believed that the Conservatives were the best hope for a bright future; believed their narrative about the causes of the 2008 crash and the kind of austerity required; believed them about Brexit and how great it would be for the country; and believed that Boris Johnson was a cool guy, a man-of-the-people with real dishevelled hair and was going to "get Brexit done".

So how's all that working out for them?
