Bridesmaid drama's

I have 6 bridesmaids and have just found out that 3 of them aren’t coming to my hen do, 1 reason is because they don’t drink (but are ok in drinking situations) , 2 because of the money (yet they go away 3/4 times a year and are a blood relative), and the other one hasn’t given a reason but ive known her for 20 odd years, and she is going away for another wedding abroad the following month. Am I ok for being annoyed? Would you demote bridemaids for not being there for you or am I overreacting?

So @gemmalouise36 now that you and the bride to be have had time to digest the replies, what are you thinking? Are you going to change your plans, do something more local? Have 2 hen dos?

She has covered the expense of everything for us bridesmaids, when she asked us she gave us lots of little gifts. The dresses, table place, food, and nights stay before the wedding is all being covered by her.'

You write this as if she is amazing-of COURSE the bride should be paying for all this-it’s her bloody wedding! They wouldn’t need any of it otherwise.

Hen nights abroad-especially at the moment when people are facing massive bills and pay cuts are crazy-anyone not wanting to go is completely within their rights and shouldn’t even have to justify it. There’s no way I would be saving any money in order to be able to afford a hen night abroad when I could spend it on an actual holiday with my family somewhere I wanted to go.

Why not go out for a meal/drinks locally for an evening instead?
