…to wonder where all the stick deodorant has gone?

Has anyone been finding it hard to find stick deodorant? None available in my local Boots or Sainsburys- is there some deodorant shortage I haven’t read about?

Yes! Had to buy mitchum instead of my usual dove.

Aerosols make my skin sore and roll ons are all wet so no thank you.

maslinpan · 12/06/2022 16:29

I've switched to Wild deodorant which does refills and a subscription so you always have a regular supply. It's plastic free as well as being very effective.

stripesorspotsorwhat · 12/06/2022 16:30

Roll ons are horribly wet and sticky. Don't like them at all.

I had to buy a Nivea one in Superdrug yesterday - glad to hear you like them! Dove is my usual favourite.

I'm quite sensitive to a lot of products but find the Nivea Sensitive and Pure works without making me itch. The Nivea Soft shower cream is good too.

NoodletheSchnoodle · 12/06/2022 16:35

Yes I like the dove stick, always got it with my Tesco shop but seems to be gone. Have also tried Asda & Sainsbury's.
Eventually got one in Superdrug after a special trip there and got it on 3 for 2 with 2 of the wet roll doves, (which seem to be available everywhere!) thinking I'd try and switch to that as it's more readily available, tried it once and just felt sticky for hours afterwards. Remembered why I only use sticks not the wet kind.
Think I'm going to try to try the wild brand, though I wasn't overly keen on the smell of any of the fragrances.

TeaAndBrie · 12/06/2022 16:39

Oh my goodness, I have been having exactly the same issue! Moved to these years ago to avoid aerosols and the hideous yellow stains on clothes. I hate the roll on ones as they feel wet and sticky.

woodhill · 12/06/2022 16:45

I like Mitchum

Tanfastic · 12/06/2022 16:45

I buy the Dove stick one that's in a box (the one for veeery sweaty People) but I struggle to get it everywhere. Have to shop around to find it these days.

KangarooKenny · 12/06/2022 16:46

I’ve had no problems

Newnormal99 · 12/06/2022 16:50

I have been looking too. I use the dove and didn't see that.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 12/06/2022 16:57

I bought one in Savers recently( they have a website if you're too far from a branch)

PickAChew · 12/06/2022 16:57

I hope it's not bring phased out. I've only got 2 months worth of mitchum left (I stock up when it's on offer). Hate roll on and spray is useless and makes me cough.

PermanentlyTired03 · 12/06/2022 16:59

Another vote for wild. Lasts a long time and they sell the refills in boots now

BackT · 12/06/2022 17:00

Same! I thought I was going mad!

UndertheEagle · 12/06/2022 17:01

Obviously I meant' matter' not 'marina'

easyday · 12/06/2022 17:08

Just checked and my Tesco has Dove, Mitchum, Sure (about six different ones), Old Spice stick deodorants all in stock. So no shortage around SW London!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 12/06/2022 17:14

No problem here.

My sticks stay in the garden and consequently don't need deodorant.

TheWayoftheLeaf · 12/06/2022 17:14

Try Wild? You can order online

unfortunatelyno · 12/06/2022 17:16

Tried Wild, but it's only a deodorant not an antiperspirant and was rubbish for me.

AKT was good but bloody expensive.

RealBecca · 12/06/2022 17:18

Another view for Wild!

Georgyporky · 12/06/2022 17:18

Local Sainsbo manager told me it's because Unilever make them in Russia.

I got a pack from Amazon, quick delivery & cheaper.

D0lphine · 12/06/2022 17:19

It's made in Russia...

So obv we are running low.

Loads in Superdrug here.

Yeah, I was going to say, Superdrug is going to be your main source for this stuff. They have a lot of products regular grocery stores or even Boots aren't carrying at all right now.

LoobyDop · 12/06/2022 17:30

Amazon has the Dove maximum- I was just reminded to buy some by this thread.

Dinoteeth · 12/06/2022 16:07

Not noticed any shortage but watch out for Sanex changing to a deodorant rather than antiperspirant.

I got caught out by this on nights at work. Kept getting wiffs of BO and was absolutely mortified to discover it was me. Fortunately the pharmacy shop was still open. Could only get roll on though.
