Starting a new thread as last one wasn't accepting new posts.. Years ago I was a young dancer and background singer .. Very shy starting out on the job I loved (age 16 ) Jim Davison was on the Sunderland Empire about 2002 ish.. He was awful.. Moody! Shouty! Miserable, Rude.😭 I danced and sang in a lot of shows afterwards, and the much bigger stars were absolutely lovely.. But he is the one I remember most.. Awful man!.. I have worked with the Nolan Sisters and they all were so lovely.. I really understand how Linda (she was so kind and lovely to me, as were all of the sisters) did not like Jim Davison when she was in Big Brother (that was not the man he acted like on that show) Out of all the 50+ lovely celebrities I worked with over 15 years(some quite famous stars) , this is the one I remember most as the most horrible one.

My other half has met him and said the same, however, myself and my staff have to meet him in circumstances I can’t explain or I’d get sacked. It usually ends with him swearing and shouting at someone.

I'm going to guess you are a physiotherapist... My sister is and she often has to push people way past their comfort zone. .. Professional sadism. 😁😁😁

Saw Tina Brown at the Kite Festival at the weekend in conversation with ex Times/BBC News Editor James Harding. Said Harry is lovely and caring but a bit dim whereas William is dull and has to work hard to appear interesting. She also added if Kate ever goes rogue then that will be the Fall of the House of Windsor and that things aren't always so rosy in that relationship. As a footnote in a Q&A with a self-confessed republican asking how we could get rid of them (she is a Royalist btw) said there is stuff which if it ever came out could finish them off and it was a great relief that the news teams don't want to/have the resources or the contacts go down that route.

This is intriguing! Can you at least say what your job is @travellinglighter?

Shall we say, Michael Owen is a major land owner and access to that land is occasionally required by councils, utilities and other public services. These services have a right to access his land on the condition they contact the landowner first. Most are fine, some aren’t and others allow access but take the opportunity to be argumentative and aggressive.

@MargaretThursday
Sorry, please no! I cannot hear anything positive about this man. I still think if he walked in any school staffroom in the country, someone would punch him 😂

🤣🤣🤣 I totally agree but I can also imagine he’s a very polite man.

mnahmnah · 15/06/2022 22:41

@Gilmorehill

oh yes. The manners will have been beaten into him at the perfect grammar school he’s tried to emulate with his education ‘reforms’

waterlego · 16/06/2022 08:37

Interesting. Thanks @travellinglighter 🙂

One of my best friends who's a wheelchair user went to see a play in the West End this week, went to grab the handle of the disabled loo, and got told firmly by an older not visibly disabled blonde woman "THERE IS A QUEUE." Friend made a comment about invisible disabilities (not in a bad way, just to make clear she understood the women in the queue could have invisible disabilities and have genuine need for the disabled toilet) and the blonde woman was all "non-disabled people are allowed to use disabled toilets too!" The other women in the queue moved over to the ladies' toilet, but blonde woman wasn't going anywhere! Now to be fair she did eventually offer to let my friend go ahead of her but the whole scene was unpleasant.

My friend ended up going directly after her and she hadn't flushed the toilet (ewww) and the tap was still running.

Blonde woman turned out to be Edith Bowman, or "Edith Bowman who doesn't flush the toilet" as she'll forever be known in our friendship group.

I use to see David Jason near TV studios in London. He always gave a shy smile. Chatted to Christopher Biggins in a restaurant. He was exactly the same as he is on TV - very pleasant and personable.

Used obvs!

I remember reading an interview with the girl band bewitched lately and them saying 5 were really nasty, wouldn't give them the time of day, calling them ugly etc

if this was reverse you could be sure the interview be dug up and 5 would be hounded today for calling women ugly by the metoo brigades.

Omg I love it when the "if the sexes were reversed" poor men 🥺 people show themselves up 🤭
Men do very often (like most of the time🤦🏽‍♀️) get away with very shit behaviour so maybe just stop with that whole thing 🤷🏽‍♀️

It's even better when they fail to realise that the "sexes reversed" scenario is the one that actually happened.

I can add a bit of a rubbish one. But I won't add a name as 1. It's a third hand account and would be wrong of me to share a name and 2. He's a snooker player and they're all the same to me so could easily mix up names!

But my ex's auntie used to work in a hotel in the north east years and years ago. There was a famous snooker player at the time who used to like to call room service up etc and when they'd arrive he'd be laying naked on the bed. He's still on the snooker shows...talking in the studio, not playing as far as I know (ex pointed him out to me and told the story).

Saw one of the Chuckle brothers at Manchester airport over a decade ago, seemed lovely

I once bumped into them at an agricultural auction, when they'd both gone to meet a ewe <may not have actually happened>

I'm catching up on this thread and this is my favourite post (in spite of not being real). 😂

Tina B is only one of many people who are aware of 'Royal Intrigues' , sadly most are prevented from speaking by the Official Secrets Act.
Pity we can't fast forward 100 years......

Macwomble · 18/06/2022 13:40

I had the misfortune to have the seat next to Nadine Dorries on a flight a couple of years ago when she was a nobody, she was rude and obnoxious to the cabin crew as well as being as thick as mince, as I found when she tried to chat me up.

Hernameisdeborah · 18/06/2022 15:43

Hattie Hayridge (Holly in Red Dwarf) is a diamond. So lovely.

Snoozer11 · 19/06/2022 11:36

Can't believe people are so naive to believe the stories Miriam Margolyes comes out with. Not my cup of tea but she obviously says everything for shock value.

Barbara Windsor used to knock around with the Krays and other gangsters who used to terrorise people. Of course she wasn't a nice person.

I was working a shift at a sandwich shop a few years ago and one of the Gavin and Stacey stars shouted at the new girl on shift for putting tomatoes in his baguette by accident, I asked him to calm down and offered to make him a new one and he told me not to speak to him and stormed out. Not sure if he was just having a bad day (which is why I haven’t named) but I never forgot it and can’t stand seeing him on the telly.

Given recent events, was it Mr Corden by any chance?

Trudij123 · 22/10/2022 01:19

Huey Morgan was a total bellend when I spent time with him, I really wanted him to be nice but he just wasn’t at all.

When I was very young, I met Eartha Kitt. She was one of the most charming and lovely people I have ever met.
