Starting a new thread as last one wasn't accepting new posts.. Years ago I was a young dancer and background singer .. Very shy starting out on the job I loved (age 16 ) Jim Davison was on the Sunderland Empire about 2002 ish.. He was awful.. Moody! Shouty! Miserable, Rude.😭 I danced and sang in a lot of shows afterwards, and the much bigger stars were absolutely lovely.. But he is the one I remember most.. Awful man!.. I have worked with the Nolan Sisters and they all were so lovely.. I really understand how Linda (she was so kind and lovely to me, as were all of the sisters) did not like Jim Davison when she was in Big Brother (that was not the man he acted like on that show) Out of all the 50+ lovely celebrities I worked with over 15 years(some quite famous stars) , this is the one I remember most as the most horrible one.

I was working a shift at a sandwich shop a few years ago and one of the Gavin and Stacey stars shouted at the new girl on shift for putting tomatoes in his baguette by accident, I asked him to calm down and offered to make him a new one and he told me not to speak to him and stormed out. Not sure if he was just having a bad day (which is why I haven’t named) but I never forgot it and can’t stand seeing him on the telly.

"Bob Geldof. Absolutely vile, rude and up himself when I had the misfortune to check him in"

Came on to say Bob Geldof and see someone has already described him to a tee. Absolutely the same experience except I had to work with him for a week and also for several days before and after. He was incredibly rude.

dancingmarshmallow · 07/06/2022 22:20

I love these threads!!!

I can see James Corden acting like this.

I have a friend who works in theatre/tv.
He told me a story about Jim Davison being involved in a pantomime in a northern theatre.
Apparently he was so rude and behaved so disgustingly to the crew building the stage sets before the show even opened that the theatre manager told him he could either apologise profusely or get the hell out of there and he'd cancel the entire run.

Mammyloveswine · 07/06/2022 22:25

I met Tom Fletcher from Mcfly when heavily pregnant with an 18 month old toddler.., it was a Waterstones book thing and he just wasn't at all like i imagined he'd be!

He didn't interact with my toddler and wasn't very friendly when I asked him about having 2 under 2!

I just thought he'd be nicer.

My sister met sam fender and said he was a total prick.. Lewis capaldi was amazing and so down to earth!

Also the sinner man off the chase... he had such a good time at newcastle uni waived his fee apparently!

katseyes7 · 07/06/2022 22:26

Also from same friend, same theatre - Tommy Steele (one for the older ladies amongst us) was starring in Singing in the Rain.
He was allegedly thoroughly unpleasant to the stage crew. So much so that every night before the big 'rain dance' number, they'd go up and pee in the water tank.

ItWorriesMeThisKindofThing · 07/06/2022 22:28

Just to balance it out, my friends and I approached Bob Geldof when we were teens and spotted him sitting outside a cafe by himself, dark glasses on.. He wasn’t overly friendly but not rude at all even though we should have let him have his privacy!

BigBessie · 07/06/2022 22:28

I was waitressing at an airshow in the VIP tent and served Vera Lynne and Jane Torvill whom were both really rude (really dissapointing)
Probably nicest ever celebs I met were Keith Chegwin and Maggie Philbin who were at a horse show and pitching in when some things went wrong. They were really popular at the time

Louise0701 · 07/06/2022 22:29

@RunningFromInsanity I know Jess personally and your friend either met her on an extremely bad day (rare) or has got mixed up. She’s absolutely lovely and always takes time to speak to people who approach her.

scoutcat · 07/06/2022 22:31

I met Jim Davison when I worked in the posh suite at Sheffield United and he was soooo creepy and asked one of my colleagues if he could bath her. She was 15 🤢

shellybon · 07/06/2022 22:32

I met Peter Andre at his book signing a long long time ago and he was absolutely lovely. Stayed for 4 hours extra so he could sign everyone's book who had queued for hours to meet him. Had a quick chat with everyone and thanked them for coming. I still love him to this day

Louise0701 · 07/06/2022 22:33

@scoutcat ah, are you a fellow Sheffield mum?

Tutchytutchyfeelyfeely · 07/06/2022 20:55

Sorry posted to early

Lionel Blair nice to important folk.. Not much to us plebs, 🤣

Barbara Windsor was the same.

scoutcat · 07/06/2022 22:37

@Louise0701 originally from near there but now living in Staffordshire. I did my university studies there hence why I had that awful job - to earn the pennies haha

Trudij123 · 07/06/2022 22:37

Huey Morgan ( fun lovin criminals) utter arse - rude, ignorant and just horrible. Liza Tarbuck is lovely and totally made up for him ( I was on their sky pet show) Kathy Burke was nice enough.

Anthony Head is an utter joy. I first met him pre Gold Blend adverts when I was about 10 and he’d gone riding with my cousin - my aunt and I had taken her dog for a walk while we waited - dog fell in the river and I thought she had got stuck so went in to help her out. We gave Tony a lift home after and I had to sit on his lap… he was so lovely to a little girl, covered in Thames goo 😂😂 he’s not changed one bit over the years, he’s just wonderful.

Rebecca Lacey is lovely too - she’s another friend of my cousin ( who also counts I guess, she was one of the four helpers Tony Hart had for Hartbeat years ago!!)

LisaSimpson77 · 07/06/2022 22:38

My cousin went to school with Jodie Comer and Katarina Johnson-Thompson and said that they were awful. Real "mean girl" vibe and very arrogant.
To be honest I'm a bit gutted about that to be honest, especially JC and am hoping she's exaggerating or they were young and silly and have grown up a bit now.

Never heard anybody have a good word to say about Jim Davidson. I went to watch him recording a show once and he obsessed about a (very young looking) backing singer called Daisy, leering and making awful comments about getting her into bed.
She looked so uncomfortable 😬

IRunbecauseILikeCake · 07/06/2022 22:38

A friend of mine used to work in a bar where some Game of Thrones fans would visit when filming in the area.
Kit Harrington was apparently really rude and an absolute prick to staff, but Gwendoline Christie, Alfie Allen and Iwan Rheon were all lovely.

IRunbecauseILikeCake · 07/06/2022 22:39

Not fans - that should say actors

Buzzer3555 · 07/06/2022 22:39

Robert peston is an arrogant prick

HollowTalk · 07/06/2022 22:39

Tutchytutchyfeelyfeely · 07/06/2022 20:47

Sad about Bob Geldof.. It seem the nicer they come across on tv the worse they are in real life 🤔🤔...

To be fair, he comes across as a complete twat anyway.

Laquila · 07/06/2022 22:40

I used to deal with Claude Littner many years ago and he was much nicer and more cheerful than that tit Alan Sugar would have you believe.

Graham Bell, the Ski Sunday bloke, was a knob.

A housemate of mine ended up in the lash with Vernon Kay one night a very long time ago and said he was insanely sleazy.

CactiHug · 07/06/2022 22:54

I said good morning to Tina Malone once and she looked at me like I wasn’t worthy to be speaking to her 😂

TBF I didn’t realise it was her, I only said good morning because she was walking her dog and I was walking mine. People with dogs generally say hello as they walk past. It was only as she’d gone past me and I heard her voice that I realised who she was.

changedsoicanrage · 07/06/2022 23:04

Keith Chegwin and Maggie Philbin were definitely lovely
