Worst celebrity you have ever met part 2

Starting a new thread as last one wasn't accepting new posts.. Years ago I was a young dancer and background singer .. Very shy starting out on the job I loved (age 16 ) Jim Davison was on the Sunderland Empire about 2002 ish.. He was awful.. Moody! Shouty! Miserable, Rude.😭 I danced and sang in a lot of shows afterwards, and the much bigger stars were absolutely lovely.. But he is the one I remember most.. Awful man!.. I have worked with the Nolan Sisters and they all were so lovely.. I really understand how Linda (she was so kind and lovely to me, as were all of the sisters) did not like Jim Davison when she was in Big Brother (that was not the man he acted like on that show) Out of all the 50+ lovely celebrities I worked with over 15 years(some quite famous stars) , this is the one I remember most as the most horrible one.

GP is also a heavy smoker. When asked she says she only has one cigarette a week. 🤥

Jennifer Aniston is another one cig a week girl aka a heavy smoker. Never met her though and I think she looks amazing regardless.

Helena Bonham Carter gave me a lovely smile when I was in a very stressful situation so always liked her.

Tom Hiddleston was polite and helpful when Dh and I were lost (we were wearing just swimming costumes so was slightly cringe scenario ).

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris martins kids ate crisps and fruit shoots regularly when toddlers as my friend and I witnessed this at soft play. Her frequent pontificating about healthy eating made us snigger!

Ok, we need the details of the Tom Hiddleston swimsuits scenario!

I wonder whether people's agents advise them that if they're winning every day on House of Games they need to back off at least one day and let someone else in, because it never gives off great vibes if someone is nakedly ambitious. There was a comedian who did win every day and it became almost boring because no-one else had a chance. I noticed that when she came back on the winners' competition she seemed to be less try-hard, and suspected she'd had a bit of backlash from her previous appearances.

I remember that as well, she won every day and kept all the prizes which she is entitled to do I suppose. When Judge Rinder was on, I can't remember if he won every day but I'm sure he gave all his prizes away, not keeping any which I thought was very kind.
I'm also over invested in ROHoG too! They need to make some new episodes, it's repeats on just now.

15 and it was late 80s

back then 15 yos in relationships with adults was common/more socially acceptable and 15yos were generally seen more as adults. Having said that him being 60 makes it disgusting.

No it wasn't. It would have been creepy as hell then too.

ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave · 13/06/2022 23:34

Angela Barnes got a lot of hate on Twitter for being "too clever". Apparently she was meant to either lose deliberately or do a girly self-deprecating giggle when she got an answer right (cough Josie Long today cough). She tweeted about how upsetting it was.

Has anybody met Richard Osman irl? (sorry, can't recall if he's already been mentioned, as the thread has been going for quite some time!)

He seems like an introvert, so may want to be left alone; but I can't possibly imagine him being outright rude or nasty to others or ever DYKWIA-ing - he always comes across as such a kind, friendly man. He even seems genuinely apologetic whenever it's mentioned that his books have done so extremely well!

He came across well on Who Do You Think You Are. Humble and unassuming.

Now, that's the sort of thing I find sad.
How very unpleasant for her.

A friend of mine is strictly obsessed and has managed to engineer many meetings with the celeb dancers.
Nicest by far (as far as she's concerned) are Anton and Johannes who apparently were very friendly, had all the time in the world to chat and posed happily for photos.
Worst was Katya but I don't think she actually did anything awful, just was a bit cool.

I can confirm that Johannes is lovely. Has time for everyone, is very tall and absolutely gorgeous!!

LaMarschallin · 14/06/2022 09:05

I feel a bit bad that all my posts have been about HoG so, to return to the point of the thread, I've not met any unpleasant celebrities except a Dexy's Midnight Runner who was playing at a ball I went to and obviously felt it was all very beneath him after the glory of his TOTP years.

My mother, however, used to work in a hotel near a theatre where a lot of the stars there used to stay. It was a long time ago and a lot of the famous people may not be as familiar these days (eg Frankie Vaughan, Dai Llewellyn - Roddy's father, Kay Kendall & Rex Harrison), but she did meet Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.

They were quite pleasant to the staff, especially ET whose eyes really were as beautiful irl in real life as they were in pictures ("Terrible legs, though"), but RB was quite impatient with ET and was always telling her to hurry up and stop keeping him waiting all the time.
Although, she was very unpunctual during their stay, keeping cars waiting etc, so he had a point.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 14/06/2022 10:40

Ah, great, @CounsellorTroi - thanks. I'll have to try to catch that programme.

It seems to me that most of the truly nasty celebs are the ones who are lacking in some way(s), maybe relying on one single skill or aspect in which they might be/appear to be superior to others (or just not rumbled on it yet!), trying to compensate for some shortcoming and jealously guard their privileged status.

Richard Osman is such a brilliant and witty producer, presenter, gameshow host and writer, with clearly great intelligence and warm personality, that 'his trumpet' naturally blows itself so loudly, there's absolutely no need for him to do it himself - even if he were that way inclined.

LaMarschallin · 14/06/2022 10:57

Totally agree with you there, WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll.

For full disclosure, I do have a teeny weeny absolutely enormous crush on him though.
If anybody remembers "Ross's laminated list" on Friends, Richard O would be on mine.
On that note, Victoria Coren-Mitchell heads DH's list so would be interested to know if anyone's met her.
Obviously, the more scurrilous and to-her-detriment the story is, the better...Wink

Err, where the hell are you from? It's never bee acceptable!

He has a problem with women. I don't mean he assaults them but he's unkind to women and bullies them. But if there's a male member of staff around he's sweetness and light. Strange man. Unpleasant

I'm pretty sure Richard Madden is gay

I only glanced and misread that - and was instantly really sad for poor Judy, having to live a lie in the public eye for all this time Grin

(don't know why that randomly auto-posted just then?!)

I remember him featuring on a 'your weird celeb crush' thread on here some time ago and I couldn't (still can't) for the life of me see what's in the least weird about finding him attractive.

Obviously it seems entirely natural and un-weird to me (bit like DH's crush on VCM, annoyingly).
Tall, dark and witty: just my type.
And with poor eyesight to give me more of a chance...

JemimaPuddlegoose · 14/06/2022 16:16

On that note, Victoria Coren-Mitchell heads DH's list so would be interested to know if anyone's met her.

Oh I have a V C-M story.

David Mitchell was, bafflingly (sorry DM) number one on my late mother's List.

I got her tickets to see him read from his latest book for her birthday. These are the texts I got that evening. For context my mother was disabled and walked with a stick, and was also A Character.

"Long Q 😩"
"They're letting me go to the front of the queue!"
"Oh no STAIRS!!!!!"
"Jemima I don't know what to do I don't do stairs."
"Panic over, nice man says they have disability access"
"They're letting me sit in the VIP section so I don't have to queue up and walk up stairs 😀😀😀"
"I'M IN THE VIP SECTION SITTING NEXT TO VICTORIA COREN"

Then dead silence next for the next four hours, as I imagine Victoria Coren-Mitchell coming face to face with a lust-crazed menopausal woman in love with her husband.

I walk over to the venue and meet my mother coming out, with David and Victoria, all chatting like old friends.

So V C-M v nice and friendly towards slightly insane woman who are in love with her husband, cool with disabled people taking up her VIP section, and I didn't have to bail anyone out of jail.

JemimaPuddlegoose · 14/06/2022 16:28

^^ Richard Madden has fairly openly had long term relationships with both men and women.

I was on set of the Bodyguard for one day and he seemed nice, spent a lot of time between takes hanging out chatting with the makeup and hair women, or hanging around the shitty office room with a single tea urn and box of Family Circle that passed for craft services, rather than running for his trailer between takes like a lot of actors.

LaMarschallin · 14/06/2022 16:37

JemimaPuddlegoose

Now, is that the sort of story I requested?
Is it? Hmph.

Actually, it's excellent story, thank you, and I shall tell it to DH on his birthday or on an occasion when he's done something of special merit Smile

Err... you don't happen to have any special insights on how Richard Osman reacts on meeting lust-crazed menopausal women, do you? Asking for a friend.

TequilaSunriseforme · 14/06/2022 16:54

He’s recently got engaged apparently

LaMarschallin · 14/06/2022 17:02

I know.
And she looks nice, too <spit>

I just don't think he's considered the benefits someone with 7 years more life-experience than him (sounds better than "older than him), who completely shares his views on people who say "Before my time" and who makes a nice lemon drizzle cake would afford him.

Apparently lemon drizzle is his favourite.
Sadly, this knowledge puts this into the realms of a proper crush, like I used to have on Donny Osmond (don't judge; I was only 9 or so). His "Fav food" was icecream and "Fav colour" was purple.

Osmond/Osman... perhaps it's just the name?
