Starting a new thread as last one wasn't accepting new posts.. Years ago I was a young dancer and background singer .. Very shy starting out on the job I loved (age 16 ) Jim Davison was on the Sunderland Empire about 2002 ish.. He was awful.. Moody! Shouty! Miserable, Rude.😭 I danced and sang in a lot of shows afterwards, and the much bigger stars were absolutely lovely.. But he is the one I remember most.. Awful man!.. I have worked with the Nolan Sisters and they all were so lovely.. I really understand how Linda (she was so kind and lovely to me, as were all of the sisters) did not like Jim Davison when she was in Big Brother (that was not the man he acted like on that show) Out of all the 50+ lovely celebrities I worked with over 15 years(some quite famous stars) , this is the one I remember most as the most horrible one.

OP posts:

I used to deal with Claude Littner many years ago and he was much nicer and more cheerful than that tit Alan Sugar would have you believe.

Graham Bell, the Ski Sunday bloke, was a knob.

A housemate of mine ended up in the lash with Vernon Kay one night a very long time ago and said he was insanely sleazy.

Gosh I'd forgotten Graham Bell! I had to spend a day with him and had to interact with him many many times and it was excruciating! He was so heavy going I actually went and sat in the toilet to hide and give us both a break. He didn't ask me a single question about myself all day and even though he was the star, I felt like I had to nurse him through the day, make all the conversation etc. Honestly he was so introverted and quiet I actually asked him if he was feeling unwell.

Will Young is LOVELY and one of those people who genuinely does secret charity work. Puts hand in pocket anonymously too. Friendly and interested in people despite the horror of his brother’s decline and death in the past few years.

FromEden · 08/06/2022 00:41

colin farrell - way too chatty about things which he shouldnt say!

What things? 🤔😄

Jacksndjills · 08/06/2022 00:42

My friend once saw Bob Geldof haggling in a charity shop.

i hope it wasn't oxfam or similar...

Cilla Black! Rude, rude, rude, expected to be treated as though she was a massive star instead of a screeching singer with no discernable talent. Everyone loathed her and to be honest I have never heard of her being pleasant to anyone who wasn't of use to her.

crochetmonkey74 · 08/06/2022 00:51

Cliff Richard, awful!!

MenopausalMe · 08/06/2022 00:55

Paul Daniels was a genuinely lovely man

She has popped up a LOT on horrible celeb threads over the years. Obviously something in it!

I was not a fan of Tiger Woods - phenomenally arrogant.

Prince Charles is lovely, I have met him with the Children on several occasions at Dumfries House. He once congratulated DS when he finally got the hang of riding his bike (having encouraged previous failed attempts), more so like any grandfather than a future Monarch . I do hope he continues to be as unassuming when he is King.

Jacksndjills · 08/06/2022 01:00

Vanessa Feltz is such a lovely lady. I met her many times.through work when I was very junior in the 1990's. She is exactly as she seems on TV.

alexdgr8 · 08/06/2022 01:01

jane asher, a genuinely good person.

doesn't blow own trumpet.
compassionate. kind. sincere.

I met Dick Emery as a child when he was signing autographs after a panto and he was being very rude to just about everyone - he was awful and I didn't like him! Phil Jupitus completely blanked me: he was standing by a train door, a bit in the way of everyone, and as I stepped in I saw him and smiled (thinking I know you from somewhere) and he gave me a totally blank dead eyed stare ie LEAVE ME ALONE (wouldn't have spoken to him anyway). A friend worked with Bruce Forsyth and said he was rude and arrogant. A health professional friend said that hospital staff found Rik Mayall a bloody nightmare, rude and impossible, and were very glad to see the back of him. Amanda Holden grew up locally to where I live now and no-one has a good word to say about her, apparently she was a bully but her sister was lovely.

In a past job DH met a few 'celebs' and although I can't remember what he said about most of them, he did say Ross Kemp, Stacey Solomon and James Murdoch (surprising I know) were particularly friendly. Also Prince William was very friendly (apparently). DH and I met Ben Fogle on a beach on holiday and he was lovely and chatty. When DS was about 16 he saw James Lance in the street and we went up to him and he was so nice and friendly and spent over 15 minutes chatting to us - a star struck teenager and his slightly embarrassed mum. Around the same time I took him to see Spamalot and he wanted to meet the cast after and Joe Pasquale was equally cool and friendly. I met Hugh Bonneville through something our children were involved with and again friendly and talkative (but a bit 'lordy'). A few years ago my DM and I got chatting to an older woman on a park bench and after a minute or two I realised I recognised her (then was racking my brains again thinking I know I know you), I asked if she was Liz Smith, she was, and she was really nice and posher than we imagined.

Mothership4two · 08/06/2022 01:18

Just remembered, I know someone who went out with David Walliams a long time ago and another friend who was at college with Stephen Fry and they both said the same thing - odd, not horrible or anything, just odd. TBF that would have been around the time Stephen Fry had a MH episode

Gooseysgirl · 08/06/2022 01:26

Can confirm that Vanessa Feltz is mad as a box of frogs and utterly lovely!

pantsandpringles · 08/06/2022 01:44

Don't have any bad experiences, but Norman Lovett (Holly from Red Dwarf) is absolutely fantastic.

cstaff · 08/06/2022 01:50

Justin bloody timberlake. What an arse. He was gigging in dublin and afterwards came for a drink with his mam and 3 massive bouncers to a small quiet pub with about 10 people in it. We couldn't walk through the pub as the bouncers were blocking the way or "keeping him safe" from the crowd.

cstaff · 08/06/2022 01:54

Same pub different occasion. We were finishing up work for Xmas and it was hopping. Colin Farnell came in with a few friends and had no problem chatting to anyone or posing for pics.

soncole · 08/06/2022 02:05

Dane Bowers gave me a filthy look in a cornershop once, he thought I was a fan.

Piers Morgan in Balham Mcdonalds back in the late 1990s, trying to get his two kids to sit still and stop kicking their legs.

@Mothership4two - I had almost exactly the same experience with Phil Jupitus!! Mine was at Paddington train station - he was walking one way, I was walking the other - I was rushing to get a train and had no intention of stopping or bothering him. My eyes must have lit up in recognition as we approached from opposite directions - I didn't slow or move towards him, or give any indication that I was going to approach him. But as you describe, a very much dead eyed "fuck off and don't even think about talking to me" stare, even though I'd shown no sign at all of even saying hello as we passed. He was also a lot shorter than I expected for some reason.

I was a very big Phil Jupitus fan, he was quite big on TV at the time. I remember being a bit disappointed that he looked so grumpy, but also thinking it was understandable because no one wants the hassle of being approached when they're just trying to catch a train!

I've heard the same re Cilla Black. She lived not far from us and the stories were second hand so no way of verifying them. But I'd heard that she was really rude to tradespeople who visited her home, wouldn't let them use the front door and was just really dismissive and unpleasant to them. I heard this from more than one source, she was known locally for being a nob.

Also very similar attitude is Lulu apparently. Again, a second hand account from a friend who was there when she was touring with Take That. During rehearsals, when it was her turn to go on stage she took the chewing gum out of her mouth and put it in her long-suffering assistant's hand. No paper, just straight from her gob onto the hand. Yuk. A diva full of self-importance who expected to be treated like a huge star at every opportunity by all accounts.
