Starting a new thread as last one wasn't accepting new posts.. Years ago I was a young dancer and background singer .. Very shy starting out on the job I loved (age 16 ) Jim Davison was on the Sunderland Empire about 2002 ish.. He was awful.. Moody! Shouty! Miserable, Rude.😭 I danced and sang in a lot of shows afterwards, and the much bigger stars were absolutely lovely.. But he is the one I remember most.. Awful man!.. I have worked with the Nolan Sisters and they all were so lovely.. I really understand how Linda (she was so kind and lovely to me, as were all of the sisters) did not like Jim Davison when she was in Big Brother (that was not the man he acted like on that show) Out of all the 50+ lovely celebrities I worked with over 15 years(some quite famous stars) , this is the one I remember most as the most horrible one.

@TonyBlairsLover a kid in my primary school class gave him a Polo during a school trip. It was the legend of the school for years.

Long shot but has anyone met Tony

Can't help with Tony but if it helps, Cherie came to visit our school. I worked in a class of children with profound learning difficulties.
(Most VIPs smile nervously from the door and tell us we're doing a wonderful job 😆)
Cherie was absolutely lovely, got down on the floor and greeted each child individually. Asked us their names and talked to them. She was wearing beautiful clothes which were a bit damp and sticky by the time she was finished but she was unfazed.
I've always had a bit of a soft spot after that.

I know someone who met him and got talking. He and Cherie were really lovely apparently.

CotswoldWoolly · 08/06/2022 07:22

Agreed re Cherie Blair. I’ve worked with her in the past. She’s a lovely woman who gets a lot of unnecessarily horrible press.

ginislife · 08/06/2022 07:23

Bruce Forsyth was lovely when I went on Play Your Cards Right many many years ago. He wasn't too happy when I stopped the filming because I didn't think it was my turn and when they played it back I was right and the crew had cocked up his cues but I think that was the professional in him. We all went "upstairs for a drink" afterwards (he always said that on the show when people lost) and he did appear (with a pregnant Wilnelia who was also lovely and very beautiful). He spoke to everyone and was very funny. I loved him.

NoRegretsNoTearsGoodbye · 08/06/2022 07:24

@TonyBlairsLover yes I have! I used to work for a fellow MP a long time ago. He’s lovely - very easy to talk to and very friendly 😊

ginislife · 08/06/2022 07:25

I meant to add, the same crew made Blind Date and one of the crew told us Cilla was the opposite of Bruce. Turned up in her Rolls with her driver, came in, did her job and left again. Never interacted with anyone and was a total diva.

Subbaxeo · 08/06/2022 07:32

Have met Tony and Cherie Blair and both friendly and easy to talk to.

JellyTots22 · 08/06/2022 07:42

My friend is a costume designer and has worked with Peter Kay, she said he is vile rude and the worst celebrity by far that she has worked with. I absolutely loved Peter Kay but everytime I see him now I think about the things she told me.

Loving this thread. Any chance we can have a link to the first thread you referred to OP, I can't find it.

Maybe we should have a special Phil Jupitus is a meanie thread? 😄

@Mothership4two 😂😂😂 love the anecdote with your DH hahahahaha!!!!

With @NoRegretsNoTearsGoodbye We're all part of the "Phil Jupitus Death Stare" gang - if I wasn't so attached to my user name now I'd be tempted to do a name change 😂

Oh - and thank you to @ElenaSt for confirming he was actually a bit of an arse in general. Did you speak to him much when he lived nearby?? 👀

mintybobs · 08/06/2022 07:54

Went to school with Katie Price- horrible and bitchy, gave all the other girls filthy looks and only seemed happy talking to the boys.

Patrick Stewart- complete perv, very lecherous and gropey

Jamie Cullen- met him on a flight to Barcelona. Utterly delightful, couldnt have been more lovely, friendly and patient and actually tried to give us some of his concert stuff as a gift and posed for photos with us

Pandorapitstop · 08/06/2022 07:55

A few PPs have mentioned celebrities smelling lovely: what are they wearing to scent themselves so memorably?!
I’d love to know.

Also from same friend, same theatre - Tommy Steele (one for the older ladies amongst us) was starring in Singing in the Rain.
He was allegedly thoroughly unpleasant to the stage crew. So much so that every night before the big 'rain dance' number, they'd go up and pee in the water tank.

My Dad, who used to be a CI in the Met, had to go to Tommy Steele's house once to try and get him to do some charity police event. Apparently TS was demanding a hefty fee for his appearance. Dad had no patience with people like that and stood up to leave, saying that actually they'd be fine with the other celebrities they already had booked in, as those celebrities (and he named a few- far bigger than TS) were happy to support the cause for no fee. Apparently Mr Steele then had a change of heart -didn't want to miss out on being in that line up, it seemed!

One of the other celebrities was Rudolph Nureyev who Dad said was charming, hilarious and humble. I still have a photo of him and Dad together.

travellinglighter · 08/06/2022 07:59

Prince Andrew, arse.
The Queen, polite
Prince Charles. Great.
Prince Edward, nice.
The whole Welsh rugby team, great except for Shaun Edwards.
Michael Owen, rude, rude rude and I had this confirmed by a friend who had to deal with him daily at his kids school and in complete contrast to Neville Southall who was lovely and played with the kids.

Shodan · 08/06/2022 07:59

I've met (through my XH) Bob Geldof, John Torode and one of the Gallagher brothers (can't remember which) and they were all surly and brusque.

Jackie Chan, however- lovely.

PleaseGoDontGoAgain · 08/06/2022 08:02

My brothetr worked on stage set up for many artists, Pink is apparently delightful really looks out for everyone involved in the whole process, Ariana Grande complete cow bag who barely acknowledged the crews existence except to sneer at them and sounds like a strangled cat without the autotune equipment (although this is apparently very common with young attractive stars), Michael Jackson (he did the stage for his final tour that never happened) was apparently looking like a walking corpse throughout all the rehearsals and was barely understandable due to slurring, but made the effort to greet everyone he came into contact with.

My friend trained at the same gym as Jessica Ennis during her Olympic days and said she wasn’t nice.

She always came across really mean to me on TV 😬

Long shot but has anyone met Tony

DH knew him quite well at university. Said he was OK but very much kept himself to himself.

Jagley · 08/06/2022 08:12

Can't help with rude stories but I've met Len Goodman a few times and he was always lovely. Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag both so friendly and gave lots of time for people.

Bednobsbroomsticks · 08/06/2022 08:12

Gutted about Andrew garfield. Great thread

fatfrenchprick · 08/06/2022 08:15

My daughter walked past Johnny Vegas, he spotted her birthday badge and shouted happy birthday

Scotty T. Witnessed him drink drive, crash, then drive off in Chester

In work-

Sophie from Geordie shore. No idea who she was but a younger staff member said it was her. She's vile, utterly rude.

Ryan Reynolds. Amazing! I serve him every time he visits Wrexham and he's just lovely

We have also served a lot of the desperate housewives of Cheshire. Not nice women.
