Worst celebrity you have ever met part 2

Starting a new thread as last one wasn't accepting new posts.. Years ago I was a young dancer and background singer .. Very shy starting out on the job I loved (age 16 ) Jim Davison was on the Sunderland Empire about 2002 ish.. He was awful.. Moody! Shouty! Miserable, Rude.😭 I danced and sang in a lot of shows afterwards, and the much bigger stars were absolutely lovely.. But he is the one I remember most.. Awful man!.. I have worked with the Nolan Sisters and they all were so lovely.. I really understand how Linda (she was so kind and lovely to me, as were all of the sisters) did not like Jim Davison when she was in Big Brother (that was not the man he acted like on that show) Out of all the 50+ lovely celebrities I worked with over 15 years(some quite famous stars) , this is the one I remember most as the most horrible one.

I used to live a couple of houses away from
Phil Jupitus in Leigh on sea a long while ago and confirm that he's deeply unpleasant.

Strangely enough the next post after Phil'a one is about Lulu and I've met her twice and she was lovely.

Zoe Ball is hands down the most obnoxious celebrity I've ever met, absolutely full of herself and demanding preferential treatment because she's famous.

Mothership4two · 08/06/2022 03:52

Oh good @SpidersAreShitheads it's not us it's him! 😁I did think it was a bit of an overreaction for a smile and wasn't approaching him but trying to get around him. He was making it awkward for other passengers. What I didn't say previously was I went back out (around him and unsmiling this time!) to say goodbye to DH on the platform and I said quietly "Phil Jupitus is on the train" to which DH responded loudly and within his hearing "who's Phil Jupitus?". Nice one DH

Icepinkeskimo · 08/06/2022 03:58

Nicole Kidman, she was something else, rude egotistical and to top it off grabby, if something was free she wanted it. Self entitlement was taken to a whole new level in the 6/7 weeks I had the complete displeasure of working with her.

Mothership4two · 08/06/2022 04:08

DH met Sarah Ferguson too when she was still in the RF and said she wouldn't look at him but spent their whole conversation looking around the room (for someone with more social standing he thought) while talking in an obviously bored way.

I know a few people that Prince Phillip was rude to, but that's no great surprise!

Back in the 80's a friend lived in the flat next to Miranda Richardsons and said she was lovely. I kept looking out for her, but never saw her

I met John Inman as a child also and he was friendly and enjoying the attention.

A ex-waitress friend told us Michael Gambon was the worst customer she had ever served

NoRegretsNoTearsGoodbye · 08/06/2022 04:31

Another one who’s experienced the Phil Jupitus “don’t you dare talk to me stare”! I saw him at Heathrow Airport and was going to say smile and say hi but he cut me dead! 😄🙄

Mothership4two · 08/06/2022 04:34

Maybe we should have a special Phil Jupitus is a meanie thread? 😄

Mothership4two · 08/06/2022 04:43

I've remembered another two. A friend used to sit near Alison Moyet on the bus or train (can't remember) to school and said she was absolutely lovely, quite shy and very pretty. Another friend used to travel in to college on the train with Cynthia Lennon (not a celeb as such) who was doing an art course and he said she was very down to earth and friendly.

Run out of horrible ones now

Tutchytutchyfeelyfeely · 08/06/2022 05:30

Don Estelle... Nice but quiet
John Inman.. Loved his fans 🙂
Bobby Ball.... The same as he was on the TV.. 😍
Lynn Paul.. Cold/alouf
But.. Les Dawson... Very grumpy and miserable, I used to collect autographs from the famous stars for my late nan but I didn't dare ask him! Also Tommy Steel was stand offish!

Also when pantomimes started using soap stars ( far too many to mention) a lot of them thought they were the bees knees🤣 One of them couldn't believe she had to share a back stage dressing room with 4 of the shows dancers 😂

A friend of mine had the pleasure of working with Liza Minnelli on her London Show in 1986. She never forgot just how lovely and warm she was 😍 She gave some of the beautiful flowers she received backstage from her fans (there were loads) to the dancers and backing singers.

Nelsen Mandela. Not a celebrity exactly but very famous. He was lovely. I was in a very low level job and his security team held me up for a while (I didn't know who they were security for). By the time Mandela arrived, I wasn't paying attention anymore, was needing to get on. His security formed a wall with backs to me so I couldn't really see anyway.

Mandela saw me standing there (I guess, as I wasn't paying attention) and asked them to move. He came over to me and shook my hand and apologised for holding me up and thanked me. Absolutely, totally unnecessary - and definitely not like anybody else who was well known there - which made it all the more generous.

Genuinely lovely
Laura and Jason Kenny
Linda Lusardi and Sam Kane.
Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall.
Harry Styles and Liam Payne
Steve Backshall and Helen.

Surprisingly friendly
Teresa May, I'm not a Tory but she spent ages chatting to our children and dog on holiday.

Rude
Carole Middleton
Sid little
William Roache

Absolutely bonkers
Sarah Ferguson.

If we're doing politicians, I've seen and chatted to Gavin Barwell a few times and I've always found him to be lovely, genuinely listened to what I was saying and he seems like the kind of person that could build consensus and work with other people. I'm not a traditional Tory voter but would vote for any party that had more like him in it.

iloveeverykindofcat · 08/06/2022 06:07

Salman Rushdie is a creep and James Dean Bradfield dissapointingly up himself for a working class hero.

That said, I've met a lot of authors and musicians I admire and most of them have been lovely. Those two stand out for not being so.

Ratonastick · 08/06/2022 06:17

I used to work around F1 a bit. My experience over several years (ie I didn’t catch them on unusual days) was that Lewis Hamilton was an absolutely delightful chap who would take time and make effort with fans and sponsors, whereas Jenson Button was a complete arse who would do the absolute bare minimum with as little good grace as he could get away with. I sometimes marvel at their respective press profiles.

blue421 · 08/06/2022 06:19

Martin Kemp lives locally and is very friendly and pleasant to anyone that says hello while he's having coffee.

My friend accosted him when she'd had far too much to drink and he was totally charming with her. Not very rock and roll but I often see him at our local hardware shop, you know, bigging it up with Tupperware.

Justleaveitblankthen · 08/06/2022 06:19

Re: Cliff Richard, every time I see him on interviews he comes across as rude, entitled and obnoxious. He claimed to have refused a photo op' with Elvis because Elvis was going through his 'fat phase' 🙄
Tina Malone: Always fine with me, but had a mouth like a sewer and openly and loudly discussed her sex life and Gynae' issues infront of everyone.

Another politician, Alastair Campbell. He was at a business show I went to, sitting at a stand looking a bit lost with no one talking to him so I smiled and said hello. Before I knew it we were having a chat and he was signing a book for me. We continued chatting and he called over to someone to bring him one of the 'nicer' books. Signed and dedicated that for me as well. I left with over £25 worth of books for free. He was absolutely charming to me and laughed when I made a rude comment about Tony Blair.

Lolly34h · 08/06/2022 06:30

Was at Butlins a couple of years back and diversity were performing. My teen daughter and I waited by the stage door for them to come out and they all travelled by coach together accept for Ashley banjo he left via another door and travelled in a private car! The brother Jordan on the other hand was lovely and signed autographs as did the rest of them. I'll never forget the fact that Ashley doesn't travel with the rest of them and is not grateful to all the kids who waited to see him that day

Don't have any bad experiences, but Norman Lovett (Holly from Red Dwarf) is absolutely fantastic.

It's a shame someone said Craig Charles was a bit rude, I'm a massive Red Dwarf fan.

Would like to know if it is just a bad day or they are actually just not nice. I think we can definitely conclude that some people mentioned on this thread are definitely horrible people by the amount of posts b
about them. Hardly surprise about Bob Geldif and Jim Davidson to be honest. I do wonder about Liam Gallagher.

The only one I know of is Desmond Dekker. I was backstage somewhere and this man acted like he was the best selling singer on the planet. Very princessy and had a big entourage.

iloveeverykindofcat · 08/06/2022 06:31

Ohhh want to know a sinister one? I met Ian Watkins back in the early 2000s when Lostprophets were big in the local scene (South Wales). I thought he was.... very nice.

Mind you I was 15 so probably too old for him [gagging]

TarpaulinEyes · 08/06/2022 06:34

A rude one. Dickie Davis was in a local store signing autographs. I have a quite unusual name IRL so spelled it for him. He responded, 'I can spell you know'. I was in my early teens so it must have been well over 45 years ago. Twat, I've never forgotten it or him

Libertybear80 · 08/06/2022 06:40

Kay Mellor- lovely and chatted away to me for ages.

Sarah Beeny- I was feeling grumpy that day passed her on the stairs in a furniture shop and she gave me a big smile.

Vanessa Feltz is such a lovely lady. I met her many times.through work when I was very junior in the 1990's. She is exactly as she seems on TV.

Nope. She parked over our driveway. DH spotted her and ran out. She said she had an important meeting close by and there was nowhere else to park. DH said he also had an important meeting and would need to get his car out. She refused to move, he said he'd get her towed. She was very unpleasant but she moved.

tonystarksrighthand · 08/06/2022 06:50

Bridget Neilson - I was 12 years old and had no idea who she was. She chatted away to me!

Hugh Grant - absolute bastard of a man

TonyBlairsLover · 08/06/2022 06:56

Long shot but has anyone met Tony
