'Messy' guest room sheets

I'm pretty sure I'm not being U but also want to check I'm not being a fusty old cow.

Had some friends round, three couples, one who isn't local asked if they could crash at ours rather than not drink or get a taxi. We said, sure! We have a guest room, all good.
They're mid 20s, my DH and I are early 40s. We have an 11y DS.
We'd told them that evening that we're early risers, just as a heads up. All good.
Next morning, they're up, showers, come down around 9.30, we all have breakfast together. They head off around 11am.
I go up to change the bedding as we have other guests due. Pull back the duvet and see a wet patch on the sheet. Pull off the sheet, the wet patch is through to the mattress. It's jizz. No doubt.
So, AIBU to think that's a bit rank? Or am I being fusty and should be a bit more chill? I don't care about the sexy time, do what you like, but clear it up. 'Finish' so it's tidy iyswim. We're likely to have them round again at some point but there's no way I'm letting them stay, is that mean? Obviously, if they asked, I'd have to say 'you know, my cleaning up jizz days are behind me and probably in front of me with a boy in the house so no thanks. Go do that in the taxi home and receive the bill instead.'

Ah now. Surely you'd just bundle the sheets and put them in the machine without doing an investigation? They didn't disturb you and if you hadn't gone looking, it seems like you wouldn't have known.

Honestly, I can't see what the problem is. It washes out!

erikbloodaxe · 05/05/2022 14:32

Get a mattress protector. You were stripping the bed anyway.

Tryhard40 · 05/05/2022 14:32

Oh yuck 🤢

Put a plastic-backed "bed-wetter" bottom sheet on the mattress my dear - lesson learned!

hoorayandupsherises · 05/05/2022 14:34

It is rank and I blooming wouldn't have them round again.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 05/05/2022 14:35

A couple did what couples do when in bed together. It's not like they left a used condom on the floor and you were always going to have to wash the sheets.

I'm not seeing that they did anything wrong here.

jytdtysrht · 05/05/2022 14:35

That is disgusting.

fine with the sex but they should have brought their own towel and taken it home or rinsed it or anything.

the worst thing is that it’s through to the mattress. Ok it will probably just evaporate/vanish to nothing but to fucking jizz on a sheet that clearly didn’t have a mattress protector and belongs to some else? Fucking rude

as bad as getting jizz on the sheet and mattress is that they didn’t strip the bed and at least try to bundle the stain out of sight

they sound like a pair of dogs
i would be reevaluating the friendship. Very disrespectful

jytdtysrht · 05/05/2022 14:37

I’m not sure why people are so cool with cum stains being left for them to find. I mean look, I don’t give a shit about cum - I’m old enough to have lived with men, teenage son etc - it’s the fact that he left it for op to find. Like marking territory

Ponoka7 · 05/05/2022 14:38

They should have stripped the bed. Really they could have refrained for one night, or put a towel down out of respect.

Kat1953 · 05/05/2022 14:39

fine with the sex but they should have brought their own towel and taken it home or rinsed it or anything

I've heard it all now.

Op:
Ynbu about the wet patch. Accidents do happen though so maybe it was one off.

Yabu to not have a mattress protector! You can also get duvet and pillow protectors which are good for guest rooms.

Use an enzyme cleaner on the mattress and protect it and your bedding better. Whether you have them back is up to you.

Marvellousmadness · 05/05/2022 14:42

Yabu for not having a matrass protector
Plus it sounds like the peed rather than jizzed surely? Yuck to both

CherryRipe1 · 05/05/2022 14:51

Yeesh! If they stay again give them some condoms and ask to knot and bin after use.

Absentmindedwoman · 05/05/2022 14:52

I couldn't give a fuck about sex, as long as the spunk is dealt with neatly. A fucking jizz patch on somebody's spare bed! Yuck!

Can't believe people are acting like this is ok.

ImplementingTheDennisSystem · 05/05/2022 14:53

Grim. DH and I have stayed over at various friends' houses and never once had sex, no matter how drunk we've been. It's so unnecessary! They've not done anything wrong of course, but it's a bit cringe.

Absentmindedwoman · 05/05/2022 14:54

Plus it sounds like the peed rather than jizzed surely?

Eh no it really doesn't. To be fair to the op's guests I don't think they pissed the bed Grin

Cheeserton · 05/05/2022 14:55

Get a grip. Some bodily fluid on sheets... In the machine, forget. Next.

Meadmaiden · 05/05/2022 14:59

Leaving a mess is rude, full stop.

I would definitely get a mattress protector for future use (by other guests, since you aren't having these people back). John Lewis do some good waterproof ones, to cover all eventualities.

Aquamarine1029 · 05/05/2022 14:59

They should have stripped the bed, whether they had sex or not, but don't you use a mattress protector under the sheet?

WimpoleHat · 05/05/2022 15:03

Bit grim not to have cleared/wiped up after themselves and to leave it for OP to find and deal with…..

2bazookas · 05/05/2022 15:07

I think it's absolutely rank that you expect anyone to sleep in a bed with no mattress protector under the bottom sheet.

2kl4skl · 05/05/2022 15:11

Like someone said, can they not just leave it one day? I wouldn't want hosts to hear, let alone leaving cum around. PPs can help you lean it up, op, apparently it's fine with them😩

SirChenjins · 05/05/2022 15:16

That's seriously minging. Honestly, if you honestly can't wait one day until you're in your own bed and you think it's OK to leave that on a friend's sheets and mattress for them to deal with you need to take a look at yourselves.

hepaticanobilis · 05/05/2022 15:18

It's your home, not a hotel so it's not great they did that! I would imagine it was more likely an accident than deliberate though and they may have been too embarrassed to tell you.

Definitely get a waterproof mattress protector - you can get ones that are thin like a fitted sheet so are easy to wash. I originally got them when I had foster cats but they are also really handy for any other bodily fluids like period leaks too.

EBearhug · 05/05/2022 15:21

I agree about the mattress protector.

But accidents happen. I bled onto hotel sheets last week. I'm sure hotel staff will have seen worse, but I still felt bad - and the sheets still needed changing. You can't make it unhappen after it's happened.

PoseyFlump · 05/05/2022 15:22

Why should the op get a mattress protector for doing them a one night favour? She wasn't getting paid bed and board. Inconsiderate, rude twats.

TurquoiseSwirl · 05/05/2022 15:23

That is disgusting.
discreet sex is ok if really discreet. Only staying one night though. But knowingly leaving it on the sheets is more than grim. They should have stripped the sheets for you. Get a horrible waterproof crinkly sheet for next time.
