'Messy' guest room sheets

I'm pretty sure I'm not being U but also want to check I'm not being a fusty old cow.

Had some friends round, three couples, one who isn't local asked if they could crash at ours rather than not drink or get a taxi. We said, sure! We have a guest room, all good.
They're mid 20s, my DH and I are early 40s. We have an 11y DS.
We'd told them that evening that we're early risers, just as a heads up. All good.
Next morning, they're up, showers, come down around 9.30, we all have breakfast together. They head off around 11am.
I go up to change the bedding as we have other guests due. Pull back the duvet and see a wet patch on the sheet. Pull off the sheet, the wet patch is through to the mattress. It's jizz. No doubt.
So, AIBU to think that's a bit rank? Or am I being fusty and should be a bit more chill? I don't care about the sexy time, do what you like, but clear it up. 'Finish' so it's tidy iyswim. We're likely to have them round again at some point but there's no way I'm letting them stay, is that mean? Obviously, if they asked, I'd have to say 'you know, my cleaning up jizz days are behind me and probably in front of me with a boy in the house so no thanks. Go do that in the taxi home and receive the bill instead.'

No, I expect they just had sex, as couple do, and weren't expecting you to race up to inspect the bed before their wheels had left your driveway.

easy enough to remove a sheet & shove it in the washing machine without touching the wet spot. Entirely your own fault for not having a mattress protector.

The first time I stayed with my now ILs, I had an insane period and leaked all over the sheets. I immediately stripped the bed and put them in a wash when I got up. I thought stripping a bed is just the least you can possibly do when staying at anyone's home. My MIL was amazing and when I said I wanted to pay for new sheets, she was hilarious and said better blood than sick or piss! She wasn't fazed at all which I was grateful for.

That said, YANBU. Jizz. Ew.

It wouldn't bother me tbh. I certainly wouldn't expect people to cart sex towels around with them or abstain from sex when staying over. I used to clean hotel rooms as a teen so have seen far worse than a bit of jizz on the sheets. It's just sex, stick the sheets in the washing machine and buy a mattress protector.

Wouldn’t it have dried by the time she changed the sheets? Presumably they did the deed that morning prior to their showers, which were before 09:30? ……..sheets were taken off after 11:00. How was it still wet more than an hour and a half later?

I agree with you OP, awful and inconsiderate. Probably rubbish sex as well.

This reminds me of the time a friend couple stayed over and they had a really early plane the next morning and obviously got up in the dark and didn’t realise the mess they’d left on the sheets…… And maybe also they didn’t realise when they were having pretty vigorous all over the bed sex that she was on her period, because it was dark …,,,,.Because when I went in the room and drew the curtains after they’d left it looked like a massacre had occurred on the bed! I still see them both regularly, although they aren’t a couple anymore. I have never mentioned it, and neither have they. I just prefer to presume that they didn’t realise!

Yeah not nice op. Definitely avoidable but if alcohol involved I guess they weren’t careful. Definitely get a mattress protector but not sure how to clean your mattress.

OP said it is a guest bedroom- all the more reason to use a mattress protector.
I can't get worked up at semen on the sheets, but I would be kicking myself for not using a matress cover.

On one hand, YANBU. It was one night, surely the couple could’ve hung on or been more discreet?
On the other, YABU. Couples have sex, you were changing the sheets anyway and there are ways to change without touching the semen.

As others have said, get a mattress protector to avoid further soak through issues and just bundle the sheets up without directly touching the fluids.

I'm confused as to why you think 'having sex in the bed' automatically means that semen has gone into the mattress? I'd expect people to have had sex in a bed, yes. I would not expect them to have gotten spunk soaked through to the mattress which cannot be 'chucked in the machine'. It's not like it's difficult to NOT do that.

Our friends usually do this (strip the beds, not leave semen for us to find)- just bring the bedding downstairs and put it in the utility.

And guests, if you’re having sex in a friend’s spare bed - put a towel under you.

I thought everyone had mattress protectors under the sheet to stop things going through and staining the actual mattress 🤷🏼‍♀️

Get a grip 🤪. Just wash the sheets, give the mattress a quick wipe down and put a mattress protector on so you can just wash that as well. You sound much older than 40 ish
