The Queen has coped for most of her life without you. I don't think she needs you 'protecting her' now.

I'm usually entire ambivalent to the royals but this has really bruised my cherry!

I suppose protecting the queen is not attending a memorial for DH.

Wether you like it or not he is her Grandson,it's not out of the ordinary,he might want to protect his 96 year old frail Grandmother.

I had the same thought. I've had this happen with family that live abroad that swan back in after about 10 years to tell everyone that's been here the entire time what they've been doing wrong. Honestly, it's not Meghan that's the twat in this relationship, it's him.

Yeah I was a bit surprised, it’s totally arrogant and just cringe. It’s just so up yourself. I can’t even get my head round the fact he’s telling the world he’s in a position to protect the queen. It’s astonishing.

I dunno, if he’s experienced the poison of the royal family presumably he can see it being directed at other people too. Im sure there is a lot going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about

Maybe he shouldn’t have slagged off the family, caused loads of upset, ditched his family and made unfounded accusations if he’s that concerned.

hopefully the Queen just said “oh do Fuck off Harry aren’t you supposed to be staying out of the spotlight” I wouldn’t put it past her.

the man is as barmy as his wife! At least Harry has generations of interbreeding as his excuse!

It was definitely a WTF moment… the Queen has been a grown up for a long time. She has her own experienced Household, her own protection team and her own adult children who see her regularly. It was fine for PH to pop and see her on the way to the Invictus Games that’s a nice normal thing to do. The Invictus Games are a positive achievement he didn’t need to invent another role for himself as “protector”.

i can imagine her internally rolling her eyes very hard at an idiot like him thinking he’s protecting her. She’s been queen for 70 years, I think she knows what she’s doing at this point without him sticking his nose in.

for someone who apparently hates the press he certainly does like to go running to them every time he’s feeling s bit starved for attention.

She’s the most protected woman in the country with family who clearly love her if her relationship with the Countess of Wessex is anything to go by. What sort of protection does he think he can offer that she hasn’t already got? Arrogant little whippersnapper!

I normally dont have an issue with him or his wife. The press were awful to her in particular and I didnt blame them for moving abroad etc.
However, that was a pretty stupid thing to say and incredibly ego centric. Hes made himself look pretty daft really

It’s not visiting the queen which was attention seeking. It was the media interview about the visit and his comments which were attention seeking.

Just posted this on the other thread: I think the comments mentioned in the trailer for this latest interview - the right people around her and Harry’s home being US at the moment - may be to do with his role as one of the four people who have official remit to stand in for queen. The counsellors of the state would usually be the monarch’s spouse and the next four in the line of succession who are over 21. I wonder if Harry has been told he is no longer eligible as he’s not a “working royal” and lives permanently outside the UK.

Comes across very badly in IMO.

I'd been hoping that, at least while the excellent games were on, they'd both avoid making anything about them so this seems a shame

He mumbled it. I believe it was as per Netflix script. Someone higher up in the Netflix food chain or perhaps Megs ordered him to say this on camera. It serves to create doubt, mistrust and controversy about the royal family. He is such a tool. The epitome of the entitled privileged white and not so clever male who has a bit of a problem with self awareness😂I have nothing against Megan, she is who she is, an American soap opera actress who grew up in Hollywood aspiring to live the glitz and glamor life of a Bold and Beautiful episode. I think Megan is more intelligent than Harry, more determined and driven and more mature. She has a firm sense of her own worth and wants to be a super star. Why not I say? I wouldn't be too surprised if she went after the top job in the US and was successful with it. Harry can continue playing a supporting role or maybe he'll be ditched when he has served his purpose. I can respect Megan but Harry 😂, not so much.
