Supermarket when you’re covid positive

Not to start a bunfight, I just want to know. Would you go supermarket shopping when you were testing positive?

OP posts:
CatrinaSassy · 15/04/2022 14:34

Probably- I’d wear a mask though

indecisivewoman81 · 15/04/2022 14:35

No I wouldn't unless I absolutely had too.

PurpleDaisies · 15/04/2022 14:35

No way. I’d do an online order.

Mangogogogo · 15/04/2022 14:35

For essentials if I had no one else to go for me maybe. When I did have it I used deliveroo for some stuff but that was limited and my mum did the rest. Also there’s home delivery I guess but the supermarkets here are notoriously fuckin shit for this I don’t even think anyone bothers anymore!

FourChimneys · 15/04/2022 14:35

No, but I know people who have. One didn't care, has never taken it seriously. The other needed a few essentials, went at a quiet time with a mask on.

penparrot · 15/04/2022 14:36

I'd do it online but I'm sure lots of people do. If you need to then go or do a click and colllect?

catgirl1976 · 15/04/2022 14:36

No of course not. I would follow the guidance.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 15/04/2022 14:36

No, but I wouldn't need to - I could order online or wait until DH got home, or ask family to pop down for me.

Not everyone has a choice, though.

RiojaRose · 15/04/2022 14:37

No. I think it’s a really stupid thing to do.

TakeMe2Insanity · 15/04/2022 14:37

I’d order online or text a friend/neighbours.

Mirrorball2022 · 15/04/2022 14:38

Nope. But I have access to lft for free as I work on a ward. So I’d know I was positive and also get paid to be off work and I would isolate until at least one negative.

FangsForTheMemory · 15/04/2022 14:39

Nope. It would be selfish and irresponsible.

VyeBrator · 15/04/2022 14:39

If I absolutely had to, yes. Obviously I'd wear a mask and wash/sanitise my hands thoroughly.

Anotherpassengerwantstogetoff · 15/04/2022 14:39

No I wouldn’t.

AskingforaBaskin · 15/04/2022 14:41

If I had to. Friends of mine live in North Wales and there is one 'supermarket' with zero click and collect or delivery so I understand that some have no other choice.

Remmy123 · 15/04/2022 14:41

Wouid you go to the shops with a cold?

GemGEmGemster · 15/04/2022 14:44

Yes, if I felt well enough. COVID’s not a cold though.

OP posts:
AHungryCaterpillar · 15/04/2022 14:45

Yes I would

TheKeatingFive · 15/04/2022 14:45

If I struggled to get a delivery slot, yes, with a mask on and keeping away from people

TotallyTS · 15/04/2022 14:45

No we used online shops and Deliveroo if we were desperate or had cravings.

MaryStuart · 15/04/2022 14:46

No, do an online shop.
It’s selfish and irresponsible.
I’ve just had Covid and it was not pleasant. I didn’t go out whilst I was testing positive as I wouldn’t have wanted to pass it onto anyone.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 15/04/2022 14:46

I wouldn't know if I was positive anymore, no longer testing in this house.

PukkaP · 15/04/2022 14:47

Absolutely not

AskingforaBaskin · 15/04/2022 14:47

You do not that entire towns do not have this option right?
VerifiedBot2351 · 15/04/2022 14:48

No, absolutely not.
I’m a teacher, and if I test positive, that’s me isolating for five (or more) days, as per my school’s current rules. That will have a knock-on effect for many children. I’m trusting the people I will encounter in the supermarket this weekend to not be positive.
