To be disgusted by brooklyn Beckham wedding

I know alot of it is probably exajerated by media but to splosh out that much on a completely ott wedding seems quite revolting to me when millions all over the world are dying and how that money could have been spent on helping starving dying children, housing homeless people and helping refugees fleeing from war torture disaster and god knows what. And while I'm having a moan flogging just 1 painting of the royal family could probably solve alot of problems and it makes me sick how they preach to everyone about everything whilst sitting on fortunes t they don't need want and probably don't even like or notice anymore. Anyway that's what I think.

Ok

DawnFawn · 11/04/2022 16:34

Well they are not going to get married at a registry office are they?

I get that the money could be used better elsewhere, but it’s not.

We have just spent 80millions restoring Big Ben, why are you not offended at that?

freebritknee · 11/04/2022 16:35

The beckhams do their share for charity.

londonrach · 11/04/2022 16:35

It's their wedding, their money, their choice... Yabu and I'm not even a fan of celebrity.

HollysBush · 11/04/2022 16:36

Didn’t know Brooklyn Beckham had got married, let alone how much he spent on the wedding. It would be farer if we could just share out all the resources equally but I just don’t think that’s going to happen.

BlusteryLake · 11/04/2022 16:36

I sort of get where you're coming from, but both the Beckham and Peltz families donate huge sums to charity. I guess all rich families could donate more though.

Mosaic123 · 11/04/2022 16:36

That's one way to think about it.

If they didn't tell all the details would it be better?

I'd like to see the new Mrs B's wedding dress but that's the extent of my interest.

Pumperthepumper · 11/04/2022 16:36

We should get rid of the Royal Family. I don’t care about Brooklyn Beckham.

ILoveMyMonkey · 11/04/2022 16:36

I think you’re a little bit unreasonable. Let’s face it everyone wants a lovely wedding and lots of people spend a lot of money on their big day in accordance with their net worth. It doesn’t mean they don’t also donate money the rest of the year or do good deeds etc. €3 million dollars is a drop in the ocean compared to her fathers fortune so while yes it seems a ridiculous amount to us mere mortals it’s pittance to them.

DrSbaitso · 11/04/2022 16:37

Almost everyone "could" donate more than they do to starving dying children, housing the homeless and helping refugees. The Beckhams donate a lot.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 11/04/2022 16:37

😶‍🌫️

beattieedny · 11/04/2022 16:37

Oh fgs, there is always evil in the world, war, starvation etc. Rich people will do stupid rich people things. It's up to them.

phoenixrosehere · 11/04/2022 16:37

So? People are allowed to spend their own money however they want including how much they pay for a wedding. They could also be donating money to charity while having an expensive wedding. Rich people can have an expensive wedding and donate to charity. It is not an either/or situation.

TheFormidableMrsC · 11/04/2022 16:37

Your anger is misdirected. These are private individuals and it is entirely up to them. Both families do a lot of charitable work. Use your vote I read when the time comes.

Catflapkitkat · 11/04/2022 16:38

It's all relative isn't it £3 million to both families would be about 30 quid for me.

It's their business what they spend, I just hate the daily photo releases. The publicity has all been so cringe

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 11/04/2022 16:38

Honestly OP, the Beckhams and their in laws do more for charity than the royal family ever did.

Sorry but YABVU. Try to get over yourself if you can.

TheFormidableMrsC · 11/04/2022 16:38

"Instead not I read" 🙄

BulletTrain · 11/04/2022 16:39

All that money goes to the venue, photographers, caterers, suppliers, dressmakers, florists, which employ hundreds of people, who all pay tax. It doesn't go into a hole in the ground. YAB extremely U.

CatsArePeople · 11/04/2022 16:39

Oh FFS

HeadNorth · 11/04/2022 16:39

At least his parent's earned their money - I'd get more worked up by the Royal Family OTT performances, where we are effectively footing the bill for an entirely family of dubiously moralled, work shy scroungers.

TurningUpMyStereotype · 11/04/2022 16:40

Of course YABU. 🤣🤣🤣

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 11/04/2022 16:41

There's always going to be wealth inequality in the world. Some people are born into it, some people earn their wealth. Whatever way, it's their wealth to do what they would like with it. The money they've spent goes to actual companies / people, that are providing the service. YABU

oldwhyno · 11/04/2022 16:41

The problems of the world can't be solved by the Beckhams, the Queen or anyone else dipping into their pockets. Starvation, homelessness, refugees aren't really financial problems, they're political problems. They need political solutions.

AchillesPoirot · 11/04/2022 16:41

It wasn’t the Beckham that paid for it. It was paid for by her father.

VanGoghsDog · 11/04/2022 16:41

Who would buy this mythical cure-all painting that the Royals own? And why is that person not the subject of your irrational ire?
