PenStation · 13/03/2022 22:23

Cheese and onion Mayo sandwich, small pot of olives or mini carrot sticks with hummus, and a kombucha or green juice. Yes I’m a hippy Grin

Grasping · 13/03/2022 22:27

@Plumbmonster

I wouldn’t have a sandwich and crisps everyday tbh. I either share, make it last 2 days or have fruit instead of crisps and a Diet Coke.

Do people still buy lunch??!

I have made my own for years, really dont want to spend £100 pm on lunch!

Painiscrap · 13/03/2022 22:30

Southern Fried Chicken Wrap, Oat Cluster Yogurt and large can Red Bull. I don’t actually drink the Red Bull (it is the most expensive drink, so thought might as well get it, as son likes it), as I always have my water bottle with me, so don’t need a drink.

KatherineofGaunt · 13/03/2022 22:32

Co-op Southern Fried Chicken wrap, BBQ Hula Hoops, a white Kinder Bueno and strawberry flavoured water. Although I try not to have it more than once a week!

Gilly12345 · 13/03/2022 22:33

Ploughman’s sandwich or BLT or Chicken salad sandwich

Steak McCoys or Salt & vinegar McCoys

Orange juice or Innocent smoothie

WellTidy · 13/03/2022 22:34

A while ago now but M&S no mayo chicken sandwich (pick up a sachet of salt in the way out as it needs it), salt and vinegar chipsticks and a Diet Coke.

Perfect.

Gilly12345 · 13/03/2022 22:36

Yes people do still buy meal deal meals, I work in retail and yes they are extremely popular and good value for money.

For me it is a treat as I don’t drink or smoke or buy take away coffees.

Salamander91 · 13/03/2022 22:37

Tesco chicken, bacon and stuffing sandwich, picked onion tayto and a coke zero.

catlovingdoctor · 13/03/2022 22:41

I bring my own delicious salad and save £4

WinterCarlisle · 13/03/2022 22:42

Boots:-
Vegan hoisin fake duck wrap thing - it’s AMAZING
Plain crisps or walkers Thai chilli sensations
Diet Coke

Other supermarkets:-
Egg Mayo or mozzarella, pesto and tomato sandwich
Same crisps and drink as above although will sometimes mix it up with some hula hoops as I like to live dangerously

Juanmariaramierz · 13/03/2022 22:47

@Isseywith3witchycats

dont need the drink ( got my own kettle etc) but an almond croissant and an egg mayo sandwich from tescos dosent break the bank
That's not in the meal deal
SneakAttackDamage · 13/03/2022 22:47

Tesco: pulled beef and red leicester sandwich, soreen malt loaf and naked green machine smoothie

Sainsbury's: BLT, activia yogurt with granola and naked green machine smoothie

Pascha · 13/03/2022 22:49

Not that I ever buy food out now but it would be a prawn mayo sandwich, cheese and onion crisps that I put inside it, and a diet coke or water depending on how I feel.

Juanmariaramierz · 13/03/2022 22:50

Do you lunch in harrods??
JeffThePilot · 13/03/2022 23:00

@Gotajobthrunepotism

Cheese ploughmans, crisps and smoothie. I then half each of the sandwiches and have one part Monday to Thursday and 3 crisps each. On the Friday I have the smoothie and the remainder of the crisps.

It makes me so full that I don’t need breakfast or lunch, and don’t need to eat at all at the weekend

Grin

I have a meal deal on a Friday as my weekly treat (and yes I eat it all). I’ll have a tuna sweetcorn sandwich or a falafel wrap, a Pepsi max, and either a fruit pot, a vegetable sushi snack pack, or a packet of Wotsits.

How do you make a salad for minus one pound?

I'm also a devotee of the "buy the most expensive thing you can regardless of whether it's what you actually want" technique, so I'm incapable of resisting the Innocent smoothies, but DS likes the crunchy corn things so I'll often get them and put them in his packed lunches.

floofycroissant · 13/03/2022 23:44

@Foxglovesandlilacs86

I like the egg, tomato and salad cream sandwiches from M&S, I bought one by accident once (picked it up thinking it was my old usual Wensleydale cheese and carrot chutney) and I love them now.

Also have a smoothie and a Turkish delight bar. I usually get those little pots with the prawns and the sweet chilli sauce in too Grin and I eat it all!

I don't even eat egg sandwiches but this one sounds amazing
BrimfulOfBaba · 13/03/2022 23:50

Southern fried chicken wrap, beef monster munch (or cheese and onion/sweet chilli chicken mccoys) and a diet coke Grin

Fayekrista · 14/03/2022 00:02

Depending on supermarket... chicken & bacon sarnie (sometimes with stuffing)
Ready salted crisps & orange/apple juice.
Yes, I'm bland & boring lol

StuntEgg · 14/03/2022 00:59

From Tesco:

Sandwich - Coronation Chicken or Beef & Horseradish
Drink - Innocent smoothie
Snack - Mackie's Haggis & Black Pepper crisps, Steak McCoys or Chilli & Lime Nuts.

Once a week treat!

Nah, when you stopped buying them, retailers realised you were teaching them something and stopped producing them.

Everyone on this thread is lying. Well done, you caught them

This isn't even a meal deal😂 what meal deal has pastries in it?!
babywalker56 · 14/03/2022 04:44

Tesco meal deal has even gone up to £3.50! It's been £3 since I was in school. That's how I know life is ending🤣
