He's talented, charming, cultured, funny, stylish, easy on the eye, exudes bonhomie, loves food and drink and travel and history. Basically the ideal dinner date. Masculine without being macho, intelligent without being overbearing, sociable and talkative without being a loudmouthed idiot.

AIBU to say that he's perfect husband material?

Not for me at all but objectively I can see your points.

Sparklingbrook · 07/03/2022 13:28

I had to Google. Blush Not my cup of tea.

KateLumley · 07/03/2022 13:30

Have you been watching his programme on Italy? I am inclined to agree with you.

notacooldad · 07/03/2022 13:33

Yeah, yes women all want a man who has an affair and leaves his wife and kids.

Draineddraineddrained · 07/03/2022 13:33

@KateLumley I have been doing little else. What a totally enjoyable programme. I just love him Blush

AuldFox · 07/03/2022 13:35

I thought his first wife died?

Sparklingbrook · 07/03/2022 13:36

Wiki suggests he has an affair with Edie Falco.

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 07/03/2022 13:36

Hell yes. Have you seen the video of him making a negroni? Apparently his wife thinks it’s hilarious that he’s become a sex symbol later in life.

Sparklingbrook · 07/03/2022 13:36

*had

Dancingonmyownagain · 07/03/2022 13:36

He was staying next door to us in Cornwall last year. He was unbelievably nice and friendly. His family were gorgeous and super lovely too

notacooldad · 07/03/2022 13:36

He had an affair left wife but went back to her and they stayed until her death apparently.

Sparklingbrook · 07/03/2022 13:37

Not really a perfect husband then. Sad

maras2 · 07/03/2022 13:38

I fell for him after watching Murder One in 1995.
It was a weird program but quite ground breaking, definitely 'appointment TV' and much discussed next day at work.

notacooldad · 07/03/2022 13:38

I thought his first wife died?
She did. He had an affair when she was alive.

peachgreen · 07/03/2022 13:38

Absolutely agree. He reminds me a lot of my late husband who was similarly masculine but not macho, as at home making a cocktail or sewing on a button as he was putting up a shelf. Dreamy.

Draineddraineddrained · 07/03/2022 13:38

Oh wow I did NOT know that. Alas, that kicks him off the perfect man pedestal I had built for him good and proper. Probably just as well for my DP Grin

@maras2

I did too! So loved the character he played, such a complex 'baddy'. And gorgeous.

Just goes to show there are no perfect men alas

MistyGreenAndBlue · 07/03/2022 13:41

Who?

Nemorth · 07/03/2022 13:41

OP may I introduce you to Mark Strong and 1980s/1990s Patrick Stewart?

Both yummy.

Sparklingbrook · 07/03/2022 13:42

I’m sticking with Rob Lowe. For the looks alone.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 07/03/2022 13:43

Ok. Googled. Nope! Sorry
