To think Stanley Tucci is basically the answer to the question What Do Women Want From A Man?

He's talented, charming, cultured, funny, stylish, easy on the eye, exudes bonhomie, loves food and drink and travel and history. Basically the ideal dinner date. Masculine without being macho, intelligent without being overbearing, sociable and talkative without being a loudmouthed idiot.

AIBU to say that he's perfect husband material?

First saw Stanley Tucci in 'The Core' and then just kept seeing him in things. He's a great actor.

I have a crush on Patrick Stewart, but only as Jean-Luc Picard from the 80s/90s. At the time I fancied Will Wheaton but I knew I was getting old when I realised the captain was far better looking!

KeepYaHeadUp · 07/03/2022 20:17

I love him. And he's in my favourite film of all time, Big Night 😍😍☺️

FatOaf · 07/03/2022 20:17

Searching for Italy is a travel/food show. He ‘plays’ himself (well let’s be honest, a careful version of himself, as we all probably would if we were on the telly)

Actors are always acting when they're in front of a camera. He'll be playing a version of himself that he wants people to see.

BeaLola · 07/03/2022 20:20

Get the love as well as for Pep , Steve C and Patrick

Mark Strong looks like he would be a sock folder and that put me off (as if he would glance at frumpy 50+ me)Grin

Magicpaintbrush · 07/03/2022 21:58

I couldn't make my mind up whether I fancied Stanley Tucci or not, but then I read about him cheating on his first wife and that for me is like being doused in cold water. I just keep thinking that the poor woman's last few years before she died were tainted by his betrayal. So, although he does have something about him, I think he's a shit for doing what he did. My DD, who knows nothing about it, even commented that he looked like a man who would cheat because he had that kind of air about him - she's only 13 and she came to that conclusion.

Rosehugger · 07/03/2022 22:01

Find an actor who hasn't had an affair. I wouldn't trust any of them as far as I could throw them. I said I liked how he came across and his TV programme, not that I wanted to marry him or go into business with him.

Rosehugger · 07/03/2022 22:05

I also like Pep (fairly problematic too as a red ☺), and Toto Wolff. In reality though someone who was so into any sport would do my head in, and I'm really glad that DH isn't sporty.

FrownedUpon · 07/03/2022 22:11

YANBU. He has charm, intelligence & lovely eyes. I’m really enjoying his Italy programme.

Draineddraineddrained · 07/03/2022 22:14

Realistically isn't that what we all do?

Oh Mark Strong's eyes 😍

Ilovetea33 · 07/03/2022 23:00

I loved Big Night and was hoping he'd become a major director but alas, that hasn't happened.

Masdintle · 07/03/2022 23:14

Right. Hearing what you've been saying about the Italy programme, I've just downloaded it. Oh Em Gee. I'm 15 minutes in and the simplest pizza as just come out of the oven after 45 seconds. I really want to go to Italy and Naples now.

Actually, I hate you all because I'm dieting ready for a holiday in six weeks, and I'm STARVING for a pizza now Grin

And Stanley T is rather easy in the eye, love his clothes, his linen shirts.

DovesofPeace · 07/03/2022 23:23

Yes!! I saw his program on Rome last night, it was a joyful relief from all this horror!

dayswithaY · 07/03/2022 23:27

He seems rather pleased with himself, and quite a prim food bore.

He looks like an accountant turned serial killer.

Masdintle · 07/03/2022 23:30

"He looks like an accountant turned serial killer."

Mmm just my type Grin

It's such a beautiful film. He wrote it too!
NeverDropYourMooncup · 08/03/2022 00:09

[smug moment]

DP looks very much like ST. More than adequate cook. And he doesn't murder the word 'culinary'.

Boxowine · 08/03/2022 00:48

Yes, absolutely.

Well yes. That's what I said.
BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 08/03/2022 08:59

I must download this. Obvs I will be telling DH it’s for him, as he loves food/travel progs.

Chasingaftermidnight · 08/03/2022 09:24

No, the perfect man is Justin Baldoni.

peachgreen · 08/03/2022 10:08

Big Night is such a wonderful film.

Valeriekat · 09/03/2022 06:48

@maras2

I fell for him after watching Murder One in 1995. It was a weird program but quite ground breaking, definitely 'appointment TV' and much discussed next day at work.
Wasn't it good!
thebellagio · 09/03/2022 10:31

I love Stanley Tucci - BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT, he was the villain in Beethoven. I can't get past the whole "trying to steal a family dog" thing...

HAHA. Joking obvs.

Grenlei · 09/03/2022 10:35

@Dancingonmyownagain

He was staying next door to us in Cornwall last year. He was unbelievably nice and friendly. His family were gorgeous and super lovely too
My DS met him through work and said he was very polite, normal and unassuming, didn't expect any star treatment (in contrast to a lot of Instagrammers who demand freebies and red carpet treatment despite not being famous for anything! Hmm)
