To think Stanley Tucci is basically the answer to the question What Do Women Want From A Man?

He's talented, charming, cultured, funny, stylish, easy on the eye, exudes bonhomie, loves food and drink and travel and history. Basically the ideal dinner date. Masculine without being macho, intelligent without being overbearing, sociable and talkative without being a loudmouthed idiot.

AIBU to say that he's perfect husband material?

Glad to see the Mark Strong appreciation (or Toska as we will forever be known). Just had to rewatch Tinker, Tailor.

No idea what it is about him but it’s there (sigh)

DillDanding · 07/03/2022 14:24

I enjoy his show, but 'easy on the eye'? Er, no.

Bellalastrasse · 07/03/2022 14:24

*he not we

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 07/03/2022 14:24

@Nemorth

OP may I introduce you to Mark Strong and 1980s/1990s Patrick Stewart?

Both yummy.

Oh god. Mark Strong’s voice [puddle]
AmbushedByCake · 07/03/2022 14:25

I know almost nothing about Andrew Garfield so I can carry on believing that he is the perfect man. Hot, muscled but not ridiculously so, sense of humour, plays piano and sings, doesn't seem to get involved in scandals or make a tit of himself on social media. Perfection as far as I know.

HelenWick · 07/03/2022 14:27

Fuck no!
Keanu, Keanu is always the answer to this question

HeadPain · 07/03/2022 14:28

I thought he was gay

RobotValkyrie · 07/03/2022 14:31

The idea that all women want the same thing from a man is sexist. And homophobic.

Seriously. Painting women as a uniform aggregate is gross.

TalesOfDrunkennessAndCruelty · 07/03/2022 14:32

I’ve long had a bit of a thing for Mr Tucci (for his acting and chat show performances) and then heard him speaking Italian. ((wibble))

OK?
Mrssebastianstan · 07/03/2022 14:36

@Draineddraineddrained No you are not wrong! He’s a dish.

A human, fallible dish. Much more interesting. And a man who loves food and wine as much as that can’t be all bad.

TammyOne · 07/03/2022 14:37

BridgesofMadison I use stocky to mean shortish and well built, not as a euphemism for chubby. That might be wrong? But it's how I have always used it.

Pieceofpurplesky · 07/03/2022 14:38

I am loving the Italy programme. Makes me want to eat pasta, go to Italy and have dinner with him as he seems really intelligent

Proudboomer · 07/03/2022 14:39

Seems he left his first wife for some actress I wouldn’t put him as top of my ideal husband list even though he did eventually ditch the other woman and went back to his first wife.

Well, that escalated quickly.

I totally have a thing for bald men. Jean-Luc Picard was my first! I fell for him when I was only 12 and I love him still over 3 decades later.

If they are bald with a beard like my DH...swoon.

Intelligence, Grace, kindness, compassion, leadership are all key elements of the attraction though.

VelvetChairGirl · 07/03/2022 14:56

never heard of him, had to google, no thanks he's no RDJ.

ShirleyPhallus · 07/03/2022 15:02

Mark Strong is my choice too

Laquila · 07/03/2022 15:05

@maras2

I fell for him after watching Murder One in 1995. It was a weird program but quite ground breaking, definitely 'appointment TV' and much discussed next day at work.
I bloody loved that programme! My mum and I were obsessed with it. I wonder if it's available to watch anywhere now?
Draineddraineddrained · 07/03/2022 15:11

@laquila you can find quite a lot of it on YouTube. Entirely legitimately i'm sure Grin

But he's quite slightly built, no?

I don't fancy him but I do think he seems like a nice guy and quite funny. I watched the first Italy show recently and of course it all looks gorgeous.

Draineddraineddrained · 07/03/2022 15:12

Weeeeeeell OK. I hereby hand in my 'relatively decent human being' card for wantonly starting a lighthearted thread on Mumsnet.

PS I don't think Andrew Garfield is gay, is he? (we ARE talking about Andrew Garfield there, not Stanley T, right?)

Sparklingbrook · 07/03/2022 15:13

@BloodyN0rah yes, behind ME 😂
