I tend towards slatternity so I didn't realise this was A Thing Shock

Luckily it's only high days and holidays nowadays, so it's not as though Id be ploughing through the Bold on Bed sheets. Wink

It's this another MN requirement where I come up wanting?

YABU: wash em straight away you grim creature.

YANBU: Meh, wash Em on the normal processing time, no need to rush.

@CIaireFraser

I didn't even know this was A Thing.

Do the washers also wash sofa cushions/rugs or whatever else they may have sex on also? Or are kind of people who get up to do a load of washing after they've had a shag also the sort of people who think sex anywhere other than bed is unhygienic and a bit out there?

I imagine the kind of people who change sheets immediately after are the kind of people who think shagging on sofas/tables/anywhere that takes our fancy is the absolute height of grimness.

We actually like to change the sheets and THEN shag in them in this house.

GeneLovesJezebel · 23/02/2022 07:28

No, just make sure the wet patch is on his side.

One of the most mumsnettiest threads I've read

babyjellyfish · 23/02/2022 07:29

Lol. I can only assume the people who do don't have a lot of sex.

Everydaydayisaschoolday · 23/02/2022 07:32

Hell no!

babyjellyfish · 23/02/2022 07:32

Every time I never wanna risk my children getting in Blush
Why? Do you think they would be jealous sharing a bed with a few million of their brothers and sisters that never were?
hellithurt · 23/02/2022 07:32

Please can the serial sheet changers and washers after sex tell me what they do when staying in a hotel on holiday?

I neeeeeeed to know!

Do you call room service at 2am and say we've just had a shag and need sheets changed? Then again at 8 am? Or do you keep "spilling" drinks by accident and say that's why?

babyjellyfish · 23/02/2022 07:35

@EllaVaNight

We have 3 kids and plenty of washing to do as it is without having to wash our sheets nearly every other day! Obviously if the sheet gets really wet we'll wash and change or if we've engaged in some of the activities which mean we've put a towel down as it usually isn't enough!
Stealth boast! Grin
spacehardware · 23/02/2022 07:37

"If you had young children who got into your bed and complained their legs were all wet from the sheets and asked what it was, you wouldn't care?"

All wet from the sheets? How?!

Seriously, what are some of you doing?? We need to know.

Norgie · 23/02/2022 07:37

My bedding gets laundered once per week, whether it's been shagged on or not.
Only the sofa gets wiped down afterwards.

Greenmarmalade · 23/02/2022 07:41

😂 this is magical.

I barely change my sheets. Too busy; don’t care enough. Also too knackered for sex most of the time

LunaTheCat · 23/02/2022 07:41

@zoeFromCity

We have a special leak proof blanket, which we throw on top of whatever bedding we have. It has cool and warm sides and feels special. I definitely don't want to sleep in wet or having to change sheets immediately after. Sometimes we let it dry and air, or run a short program in washing machine.
A special sex blanket 😏 - I have never heard of such a thing - did you go into Marks and Spencer? Maybe there is a business opportunity.
FinnulaFloss · 23/02/2022 07:44

I don't understand what the hell people are doing to get soaking wet sheets and huge 'spills' that necessitate an entire bedding change.

The worst 'spillage' we've ever had is a coin sized damp patch which I'd rub thoroughly with a baby wipe then just leave. Most of the time there's nothing though.

bluepeacock · 23/02/2022 07:45

Their kid will sit on a wet patch and start growing sibling from a lump on their shoulder. You seen 'The Thing'? That.

😂 😂 😂

SmallThingsEverywhere · 23/02/2022 07:46

@Goldrill

I wash my sheets way more often than I have sex. They'd be properly gross if I left them that long.
Sorry this made me Grin

Same here. I think the amount of fluid is being vastly over-exaggerated in (pathetic) attempts to be the most performatively revolted by how grim it is Hmm
didihearthatright123456 · 23/02/2022 07:47

@Simonjt

No, use a towel, although sex is yet to feature in 2022 for us 😂
Same 🤪
Chosenonesneakymincepie · 23/02/2022 07:51

Hmmm interesting. For me this poses another question. How many of us have immediate post sex dribbles 🙈. With my ex DH the deposit would be made and stay there, definitely over night. With current DH it makes a reappearance almost immediately. If we have just put new bedding on I do manoeuvre sex towards the bathroom tbh.

Fuggly · 23/02/2022 07:58

Yes, sex towels are a thing! We have a selection stored near the bed, just hand towel size for any mopping up required. Usually throw a couple in the suitcase when going away too. We have a towel rating for holidays as well e.g (me) Do you think this is a 2,3 or4 towel break ? (Him) 4?! We’re only away two nights!!

Gowithme · 23/02/2022 07:58

We do quite often have biggish wet patches and it's definitely not because I'm doing some sort of squirting thing.
I guess it's during lift off. If I'm on top when I get off gravity does it's thing and if it doesn't end up all over OH then it's on the sheets.
It soon dries to nothing though and I'm slovenly (in a non performative way obvs) so bed sheets get washed when I get round to it.

ImInStealthMode · 23/02/2022 08:00

Well. 38 years old, sexually active since 16 and I've been doing it wrong all this time.

Not once in 22 years has either party gone off like a sprinkler system and soaked everything in the room. Never have I had to wade ankle-deep through fluids to get back to my side. At no stage have I had cause to wring out the sheet before going to sleep.

Rarely is there even a wet patch at all (I'm a 'knickers back on promptly' kind of girl).

What is it I'm missing? Blush

To answer the question though, no. We change the bedding once a week - whether it's been shagged or or not.

TurkeyRoastvBubbleandSqueek · 23/02/2022 08:01

Not until I had children old enough to get into bed with us, but then I would have to if we weren't using condoms.

MintyFreshBreath · 23/02/2022 08:02

Nope. And…there’s stains 😜 We like to live life on the edge.

What are they going to catch?
Fuggly · 23/02/2022 08:04

mincepie definitely more dribbles now than when i was younger so probably an age thing. Maybe my body knows there is no point in keeping it in anymore? Grin
