I tend towards slatternity so I didn't realise this was A Thing Shock

Luckily it's only high days and holidays nowadays, so it's not as though Id be ploughing through the Bold on Bed sheets. Wink

It's this another MN requirement where I come up wanting?

YABU: wash em straight away you grim creature.

YANBU: Meh, wash Em on the normal processing time, no need to rush.

@Simonjt

No, use a towel, although sex is yet to feature in 2022 for us 😂
Shock
Jellybellywellysmelly · 23/02/2022 01:25

LondonQueen · 23/02/2022 01:26

We have a waterproof mattress protector so it doesn't soil the mattress.

Usually wash the sheets the following morning... 9 out of 10 times

Baileys123 · 23/02/2022 01:33

I personally couldn't lie in it and my youngest is only 6 months. It would repulse me to lie in it. To those who insulted me for it yez must be dirt bags to lie in stained beddingBlushBlush

ComtesseDeSpair · 23/02/2022 01:33

If you have time to wash your bedding every time you have sex, you aren’t having enough sex.

I’m far too busy to change the sheets twice a day.

workworkworkugh · 23/02/2022 01:38

What on earth does everyone get up to when they have sex that they have to change the sheets so often or lay down a special blanket, it sounds like there's just bodily fluids flying all over the place 🤣

Quite! What exactly is getting all over your sheets and why isn't it going where nature intended or somewhere similar?
Kanaloa · 23/02/2022 02:04

I do. To be fair we’re hardly Pam & Tommy though, so if we do and I change the bed then I just won’t bother changing it on a Sunday when I normally do.

Bussinbussin · 23/02/2022 02:12

No! A weekly sheet change is plenty, sex is more frequent than that and we're not doing anything particularly filthy or leaving puddles of anything behind!

RobertsRadio · 23/02/2022 02:14

That's why we only sleep on rubber sheets, a quick wipe over and we're good to go. Of course in the summer months we just do it in the garden, saves us a packet on laundry costs.

jamandmarmaladeoncrumpets · 23/02/2022 02:23

No, i just snap the sheet in half and throw it in the bin

Wiredforsound · 23/02/2022 02:31

@zoeFromCity

We have a special leak proof blanket, which we throw on top of whatever bedding we have. It has cool and warm sides and feels special. I definitely don't want to sleep in wet or having to change sheets immediately after. Sometimes we let it dry and air, or run a short program in washing machine.
So, like some sort of sex blanket?

Is this a special sex blanket product? Please tell me more, where is it from?
AutomaticMoon · 23/02/2022 02:41

Argh sorry, I didn’t see the PP asking the same 😖

2YearsOfWastedTime · 23/02/2022 02:46

I put a protective bed pad underneath me Grin

CurlingIsAnExcellentSport · 23/02/2022 02:49

No.

We do take protective measures against spills (mostly, sometimes The Mood occurs suddenly).

I would strip down any major messy sheets ahead of laundry schedule, as I would any other unexpected spills that aren't mop-uppable. Well except I wouldn't as stripping the bed is his job in our household Grin.

Isn't all the above obvious?

Mumsnet is bonkers.

shepabear · 23/02/2022 03:07

Christ who has the time? And how messy does it have to get? Afterwards I pop some knickers on, few minutes of cuddling, then go to the bathroom for a quick wee. It really doesn't need to be this hugely messy affair where sheets must be changed instantly!

CheesePlantMurderer · 23/02/2022 03:07

No way. We have sex several times a day when partner is home - works away - altho no children to climb in.
I don't wash the sofa covers either but I do disinfect the dining table 😂😉

EllaVaNight · 23/02/2022 03:09

We have 3 kids and plenty of washing to do as it is without having to wash our sheets nearly every other day! Obviously if the sheet gets really wet we'll wash and change or if we've engaged in some of the activities which mean we've put a towel down as it usually isn't enough!

Flatandhappy · 23/02/2022 03:23

@EBearhug

In between different men at least. Wink
Biggest laugh of the day, thanks!
Cappuccino17 · 23/02/2022 03:34

Yep I do. Lol. Unhygienic if you don't. Almost like weeing in bed and then saying blah its natural lol

loopylindi · 23/02/2022 03:45

They'd be very manky (that's Manky!) after 16yrs.

AffableApple · 23/02/2022 04:17

I just use a toilet brush to clean up any spills

Foxglovesandlilacs86 · 23/02/2022 04:28

We probably have sex two or three times a week and DH changes our sheets twice a week (it’s his job I never do it), but he would do this if we had no sex at all, he just likes a clean bed!If I had to do it myself I’d probably be fine with once a week tbh

I don’t see where the mess is coming from either, I just go to the toilet a few minutes afterwards and it all comes out in there!

Maybe mumsnet is full of squirrels GrinGrinGrin
