I tend towards slatternity so I didn't realise this was A Thing Shock

Luckily it's only high days and holidays nowadays, so it's not as though Id be ploughing through the Bold on Bed sheets. Wink

It's this another MN requirement where I come up wanting?

YABU: wash em straight away you grim creature.

YANBU: Meh, wash Em on the normal processing time, no need to rush.

@Qwill

“Every time I never wanna risk my children getting in”

Getting in what?!!! What on Earth do you think is going to happen to them? This is by far the oddest thing I’ve read on here, and there has been some bonkers comments through the years!

Why is that odd? If you had young children who got into your bed and complained their legs were all wet from the sheets and asked what it was, you wouldn't care? Confused

TrippinEdBalls · 23/02/2022 06:57

I'm a bit confused by the apparently popular option of doing it on a towel - do you keep a towel in your room for this or does someone have to go to the bathroom/airing cupboard to get it? Does that then mean you can't move around during sex because you have to stay on the towel? Don't you find a towel is a lot less comfortable than a bedsheet - I'm imagining friction burns!

We are obviously revolting by MN standards because we just have sex directly on our sheets and don't change them until they're next due to be changed Shock

PermanentTemporary · 23/02/2022 06:58

No of course not. Ds is older now but I don't think most children are so hygienic that they even notice a damp patch tbh, never mind dried on.

VitalsStable · 23/02/2022 07:00

DH thought this was normal when we got together but him and girlfriend only did it Sunday nights which happened to be the day before laundry day in their house. Nutters. We have sex probably 3-5 days a week. I love fresh clean bedding and do ours twice a week but that's my limit I'm afraid!

RancidOldHag · 23/02/2022 07:01

Who the fuck has time for all that laundry when you could be having sex instead?!

Exactly!

SamMil · 23/02/2022 07:01

No.

CantwaitforSummernow · 23/02/2022 07:02

No! This has never occurred to me. Definitely change the bedding less often than we have sex.

Although we don't make the bedding dirty by having sex. Maybe we've been doing it wrong?

SexyLittleNosferatu · 23/02/2022 07:03

I'm on the bus reading this and "jizz flying all over the room" has finished me off 🤣

hellithurt · 23/02/2022 07:03

@Baileys123

I personally couldn't lie in it and my youngest is only 6 months. It would repulse me to lie in it. To those who insulted me for it yez must be dirt bags to lie in stained beddingBlushBlush
Wow!!

I'm think you need some help! Repulse you to lie in "it", you've never had sex more than once a night? In the early days that would've meant changing the sheets two or three times s night.

If you go on holiday to a hotel, do you call room service every time?

Oh hi it's room 101, I know it's 2am but could you send someone up to change our sheets?

FantasticFebruary · 23/02/2022 07:04

@Cappuccino17

Yep I do. Lol. Unhygienic if you don't. Almost like weeing in bed and then saying blah its natural lol
If it's like weeing in bed, you need to see a Dr.
FantasticFebruary · 23/02/2022 07:05

@Foxglovesandlilacs86

I meant squirters! Bloody auto correct 🤣🤣🤣
GrinI wondered what I'd missed about the sex life of squirrelsGrin
Thatsplentyjack · 23/02/2022 07:09

No chance. I do like my sheets ro be clean and smooth though, so I always make sure we stay over DPs side of the bed so any mess is on his side. He's a disgusting lazy creature anyway so no chance he's changing the bed.

MrsToothyBitch · 23/02/2022 07:12

Nope. I have better things to do post sex than change the sheets. I'd rather capitalise on the mood and shower or bath together or keep cuddling than spring up and change the sheets.

newnameforthis76 · 23/02/2022 07:12

Having sex while knowing we were going to have to change the bedding afterwards would be quite the passion-killer for me, I must say.

ViceLikeBlip · 23/02/2022 07:14

I change my sheets every single morning. I can't sleep in them again knowing they've been darked on overnight.

Sex Towel is the new Penis Beaker clearly Grin
emmetgirl · 23/02/2022 07:16

No....because I have a life.

DivorcedAndDelighted · 23/02/2022 07:17

@daisyjgrey

This is MN, someone will be along in a minute to say that they put a strip the bed, put a special mattress protector and designated bedding on, do the deed and then strip it all off and put a fresh one on, every time. And anything less is the epitome of "grim".
Grin Was going to say "you've nailed it", but that's too bad a pun, plus I might need to refresh the page to avoid being grim.... I am nearly 50 and, until today, had never heard this idea that one should wash the sheets after every shag. If I found out someone did that, I'd think they were either a) very, very keen on laundry, or b) into some very messy kink.
gogohm · 23/02/2022 07:19

No, we've only been together for 2.5 years so it would mean quite a lot more washing Grin

SoManyTshirts · 23/02/2022 07:19

Now sex is a special occasion (fortnightly visit) I like to change the sheets before rather than after. As well as the weekly change!

CIaireFraser · 23/02/2022 07:20

I didn't even know this was A Thing.

Do the washers also wash sofa cushions/rugs or whatever else they may have sex on also? Or are kind of people who get up to do a load of washing after they've had a shag also the sort of people who think sex anywhere other than bed is unhygienic and a bit out there?

Twattergy · 23/02/2022 07:23

We only permit ourselves sex the night before sheet change day. Wink

Cocogreen · 23/02/2022 07:25

Every time I think I've read THE most bizarre thread ever on Mumsnet, another comes along to beat it.
This thread is my benchmark at the moment.

Ikeameatballs · 23/02/2022 07:27

DP hates it when I change the bedding, I strip the bed and wash, his job is to put it all back on again. If I told him we had to do this after sex he’d probably refuse to have sex again, or only do it in synch with the regular change of bedding.

With no partner ever have I experienced the volume of fluid that some of you are describing.

guiltynetter · 23/02/2022 07:27

I've laughed so much at this thread 😅

Especially the person who had a 'special leak proof blanket' for shagging on. A sex blanket 😅

I don't understand how these sheets are getting sopping wet enough to have to put towels down. I must be having the wrong type of sex🙈

And to answer the question no, I just change the sheet weekly.
