To think fully grown men shouldn't need to pee in the street

I've just had the joy of looking out of my front room window to see a man had pulled his car up (into private spaces that are designated for the flats on our road) and relieved himself into the space. I saw everything

For context we are not rural! It's a long residential road that runs parallel to a main road, which is opposite the centre of town. Busy with cars and pedestrians, and opposite a long row of houses like mine. This was also less than a metre from the pavement, so a poor unsuspecting pedestrian would behave got an eyeful.
I also know that that space belongs to a family with three young children and he's just filled it with his piss in broad daylight.
So AIBU to think a fully grown man should at least be able to hold it until they get to a McDonald's or something.

Sometimes people just cannot wait. Especially as they get older.

Spidey66 · 16/02/2022 13:38

It's not great, but without knowing his medical history it's impossible to judge, tbh.

Penvelopey · 16/02/2022 13:38

Do you see women pissing in the street?

I certainly haven’t.

Men however. I just don’t get it.

Women have more continence issues than men and yet you very rarely, almost never in fact, see women doing this do you?
Theladyinthepinkcoat · 16/02/2022 13:40

Men grow up knowing they can piss anywhere. So they do. My DH drives for a living and the general consensus of male drivers is that they "dont have to worry about toilets". Grim.

CrotchetyQuaver · 16/02/2022 13:40

I don't disagree with you that it's not very nice, but he may have prostate problems/taken a water pill for heart problems and had to go urgently.

MorningStarling · 16/02/2022 13:41

It's just a normal bodily function. You shouldn't judge him without knowing the facts, he might have a medical condition for example. It's not always possible to keep it in indefinitely. If it bothers you, look away.

Penvelopey · 16/02/2022 13:41

Women may restrict themselves from leaving the house or be aware of incontinence pads. You don't see ads for mens incontinence pants.

BunsyGirl · 16/02/2022 13:41

Men are lucky. It’s easy for them to pee wherever they want. As a woman with incontinence problems, I have to wet myself if I can’t access a public toilet.

Theladyinthepinkcoat · 16/02/2022 13:42

My own independent research also indicates that men prefer to shit have a wank in the disabled or baby change toilets. Rather than the men's. So it's not just isolated to pissing in the street.

Fieldsville · 16/02/2022 13:42

Enlarged prostate?

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 16/02/2022 13:43

Women don't piss where they please so why should men.

So now someone's DC might walk in his piss getting into the car because of this guy.

Utterly grim and selfish.

Madmaxxy · 16/02/2022 13:43

He wasn't old and he was laughing and joking with the other person in the car. And no I don't know his medical history of course but he didn't even attempt to be discreet. Medical issue or not you'd think you would.

shouldistop · 16/02/2022 13:43

If he has a medical condition then he can carry a bottle in his car to pee into.
I was heavily pregnant during the time in the pandemic when public toilets etc were closed. I carried a 'pee-pot' in the car and a blanket for privacy so I could still take my then pre-schooler out for the day.
If a heavily pregnant woman can manage to pee in a Tupperware in the car then a man can pee in a bottle in his car.

If he was laughing and joking maybe that set of his need to wee
SarahJessicaPorker · 16/02/2022 13:44

Yes, medical history and yes, sometimes people just can't wait, but, as a pp said, I've never seen a woman piss in the street in broad daylight. I see men doing it fairly frequently at the side of the road as I drive along big roads on my work commute

Motnight · 16/02/2022 13:44

Sexnotgender in answer to your question unfortunately yes. But much much more rarely.

Madmaxxy · 16/02/2022 13:45

Oh and of course I looked away as soon as a realised what was going on!!! Still can't un see it though

Sometimes you just can’t hold it, although I agree that he could have picked a more hidden spot.

LucilleBluth · 16/02/2022 13:49

Its grim. I live near a little stream…I came up my road last week to see a delivery driver pissing into it. Kids play there and ride their bikes through it. Absolutely vile.

JaninaDuszejko · 16/02/2022 13:50

YANBU, it's disgusting. A woman would never do this. It's got fuck all to do with a medical condition and everything to do with male entitlement. He was in the middle of a town, he could have found some public toilets.

SweetPotatoDumpling · 16/02/2022 13:54

@CorrBlimeyGG

Really? Do you jump out of your car and pee in the street? Or do you find the nearest toilet?

Stop excusing these disgusting manners!! No wonder men think it's ok, if women condone it! It will have been taught to them by their mothers, that it is a perfectly fine way to conduct themselves in public!!

News flash: it isn't! 🤢

And yet it's incredibly rare to see a woman do it.
shouldistop · 16/02/2022 13:55

@SweetPotatoDumpling nice to see the mothers getting the blame as usual. What about the fathers?
