Thanks for the new thread Wine

DuncinToffee · 11/02/2022 17:40

Everyone is welcome

From the Guardian
The Metropolitan police decided initially to not investigate allegations of lockdown-breaching parties in and around Downing Street in part because no one had admitted taken part and there was no social media footage, a legal document has shown

Placemarking for later - thanks, jgw1

Just been listening to "More or Less" on BJ saying employment at higher levels than pre pandemic and that crime is down 14% ... both a tissue of lies and both stated to Parliament.

Employment PAYE data is experimental and not official, doesn't inc self employed changing to PAYE.
Crime figures never included fraud.... so no pension, credit card or ID fraud.... Why not go the whole hog and don't inc Robbery and Violence in the next crime survey data?

I don't quite get how this isn't "Misleading Parliament" ?

Peregrina · 11/02/2022 17:58

I made a prediction on earlier threads that Johnson wouldn't be gone 24 hours later. I will make a prediction on this half thread that Johnson will still be in post when we get to 500 postings.

derxa · 11/02/2022 18:03

.

guinnessguzzler · 11/02/2022 18:06

The entire current UK workforce will have resigned / retired / died before that lying bag of lies does the decent thing and goes.

Piggywaspushed · 11/02/2022 18:06

Feeling perfectly welcome. Thank you.

'Everyone is welcome'

Brilliant.

'I made a prediction on earlier threads that Johnson wouldn't be gone 24 hours later. I will make a prediction on this half thread that Johnson will still be in post when we get to 500 postings.'

Totally agree.

He'll still be PM at the next GE.

Even a fine can be ridden out, say its a FPN, same as a parking penalty and who hasn't had one of those? and that resignation is too extreme plus there is no precedent to do so.

Look what he has gotten away with already?

It’s not entirely unexpected but it’s an absolute scandal. I wouldn’t want make an actual prediction but I’m concerned what this has done to politics in this country. Standards are in the gutter and eyeing up the sewers.
derxa · 11/02/2022 18:10

He'll still be PM at the next GE. I hope not

Notonthestairs · 11/02/2022 18:13

Got a bit lost there Smile checking in

Maggiethecat · 11/02/2022 18:14

The clown will get his due soon enough, don’t worry.

Notonthestairs · 11/02/2022 18:14

I think the predictions should probably wait until after the local elections.

Lonelycrab · 11/02/2022 18:15

Placemat and thanks jgw1

DuncinToffee · 11/02/2022 18:16

About parking fines

Lewis Goodall
There’s quite a bit of talk about parking fines etc. It’s important to remember that the Police doesn’t issue a fixed penalty notice unless they think the person in question has broken the law. So if fines are issued, their appraisal is there was law breaking.

Adam Bienkov
Also, parking fines are not generally Fixed Penalty Notices they are Penalty Charge Notices which don’t relate to any possibility of a criminal offence

jgw1 · 11/02/2022 18:16

Clear evidence here that Boris is a massive vote winner.

You are welcome, it is lovely to have you on this thread and so many others posting about all the enjoyable falls they have had.

My most enjoyable falls are the Victoria falls, where I once had a ten minute birthday party.

@DuncinToffee so the Met were waiting to be contacted by those at the gatherings to admit they had broken the law? Just like they do with other crimes. Police stations across London must be empty right now. No wonder crime (not including fraud) is falling.
