He needs someone to pay his FPN's

@cakeorwine

His quote on Germany

“In this country, I often heard it said over the last couple of years that we have a habit of going back to work or going into work when we are not well and people contrast that with Germany for instance where I am told they are much more disciplined about not going into work if you are sick and I’m suggesting that is something we could learn.

I'd be interested to hear what employee policy is for sick pay. And if you take a day sick in Germany you have back to work interviews and can be given a warning for too many sick days - or just dismissed if less than 2 years service.

Liz Truss blinking a little and trying to reboot after being reminded she accidentally popped a wee photo on Insta of her, T. May and Lubov Chernukhin...

A while ago I listened to a good BBC podcast series about Anna Delvey, the fake heiress who conned New York society into financing her lifestyle (it’s now a Netflix series called Finding Anna).

LizTruss is the political equivalent of Delvey, having constructed an entirely fictitious competent and knowledgeable persona, much of it via Instagram.

Blossomtoes · 23/02/2022 14:34

I loved his comment that party donors have to be on the electoral register. He’s obviously never heard of money laundering. Or he thinks we’re all idiots.

borntobequiet · 23/02/2022 15:18

I’m sure there aren’t many Russian oligarchs’ wives on the electoral register round here. Funny how they all live in central London, handy for having tea with Cabinet Ministers.

DuncinToffee · 23/02/2022 15:24

As Have I Got News For You put it
Boris Johnson hits three Russian billionaires with travel bans. Unclear now how they’ll get from Knightsbridge to Downing Street.

jgw1 · 23/02/2022 16:40

@borntobequiet

Tories we’re all ready to make a big deal about Labour Chinese connections, weren’t they? Did they suddenly pipe down when they remembered their own links with Russia? I thought it did go quiet very quickly.
Some of the regular Boris fanboys on here were very reluctant to condemn Political Parties receiving money from overseas donors, whilst simultaneously telling us how bad the Labour Chinese connections were. The wriggly was a joy to behold.

I was only half listening to Radio 4 this lunchtime, did the Minister on between the errs say that there was one new unicorn each week?

OP posts:
DuncinToffee · 23/02/2022 17:10

I didn’t watch/listen but he repeated this unicorn

Boris Johnson has once again falsely claimed there are more people in work now than before the pandemic began.
That's the SEVENTH time he's got that wrong in Parliament. @StatsRegulation have told him this is wrong.
He must stop saying this and correct the record.

Full Fact @FullFact

He really doesn't care. He will only begin to care when the rest of the Tory MPs realise that the constant lying is a vote loser and give him the push.

Zonder · 23/02/2022 21:12

And for that to happen we need the country to think the lies are important enough to stop backing him.

Well yes. And he's just not as loveable as BJ, is he?

DuncinToffee · 23/02/2022 21:24

And Corbyn had us all calling eachother comrade.

Zonder · 23/02/2022 21:25

Yes. He'd have us all living in communist terror.

Well I didn't like to mention it, but you are not wrong about what the amazing Boris saved us from. Just think what the size of the national debt would be with Jeremy spending as though there was a magic money tree, unlike the fiscally prudent Rishi who only spends money on already unnecessarily rich people.

Sky is reporting that no taxpayers' money was spent on food or drink consumed at Downing Street events being probed by the Metropolitan Police as part of its "partygate" inquiry, the government has insisted

Have they forgotten these were 'working' events Confused

I've worked for some miserable, tight arsed employers over the years but I have never attending a working event where I've had to bring my own sausage rolls..

I think it has already been established beyond any reasonable doubt that the parties were not work events except for Boris the Clown who was at them to work as the entertainment.

Clowns have skill, clowns are funny, clowns do not kill thousands of people by neglect. Clowns act in a timely manner not three weeks late.

Please do not call Mr Johnson a clown. A serial killer in all but name, a misogynist, a consistent liar, would be three I'd choose.

But I thought the reason that Boris was working at all these parties was because he was entertaining the troops with his clown routine?
