Obviously he's running scared from his own side as well and Labour and the excellent contribution from Ian Blackford - no doubt Dennis Skinner would have done the same if still an MP.

However, there was no need for Johnson to stoop to the level of more lies - this time trying smear Kier Starmer with untrue allegations about Jimmy Savile.

Thank you for the patronising explanation - it was irony

If JRM had said ‘automatically triggered’ (which he didn’t) I thought maybe you might have been having a bout of wishful thinking so I was replying in good faith.

If you don’t want patronising replies then make your irony more obvious.

'No you wouldn't because you'd add in more caveats, like you have now "including invited guests( not work colleagues at work)"

'Nothing will make you criticise BJ'

I can guarantee if we see snaps of him in his private residence having an actual party I will be as outraged as the next person. So far, we've seen him in the workplace with colleagues. Like Starmer.

I will happily criticise him but I won't let the mainstream media brainwash me and their unbalanced reporting this week regarding the mob allegedly targeting KS 'because of Johnson' was a prime example. They were there already protesting about a load of stuff. One person seemed to shout savile it certainly wasn't what they were there for.

Can you explain to me how it is appropriate in the middle of a national crisis for the Prime Minister to be photographed whilst at work next to a guy wearing tinsel, a bottle of bubbly and joining in a fun quiz?

If Starmer had been doing what BJ has been , then i'll be voting Tory at the next GE.
But the difference was and its a big one, no Police force is investigating KS because his was a genuine break between work sessions and Bozo's was several "gatherings" after work and we don't really know if it was restricted to colleagues, Carrie certainly isn't on the payroll and neither is the interior designer.

@JaniieJones

'What will it take for you to take a step back and see all this for what it is and the huge lack of trust in the government this has caused? I'm genuinely interested in what it will be?'

I will step back and see all this for what it is when/if we see photos of actual parties. As I say Dom and Pip may be saving the worst for last so if we do see photos of Johnson partying in a room full of people including invited guests( not work colleagues at work) then yes I'll agree and say that is shit.

So photos of gatherings with work colleagues not at work won't do it for you, even though those were just as illegal as parties?

Is there a difference between a break between meetings for a meal and a planned social event at work after a day of meetings?

DePfeffoff · 10/02/2022 10:38

At the relevant time the expectation was that people would eat separately, and would take appropriate social distancing steps if in-person meetings couldn't be avoided.
