Obviously he's running scared from his own side as well and Labour and the excellent contribution from Ian Blackford - no doubt Dennis Skinner would have done the same if still an MP.

However, there was no need for Johnson to stoop to the level of more lies - this time trying smear Kier Starmer with untrue allegations about Jimmy Savile.

@daimbarsatemydogsbone

Piers Corbyn and his ragtag bunch of abusive protestors need arresting, surely carrying a noose is inciting hate and violence?

Maybe he could share a cell with Boris.

The reality TV programme we need.

'Crack open the champagne - the impossible has happened, you’ve said something I agree with!'

Stranger things have happened. Jgw agreed with me (once) too.

Shall we see if we can agree on something today @JaniieJones?

Figures in public life have a particular responsibility due to their position to make sure their words do not have the effect of inciting a hate filled mob.
Do you agree?

Govt reshuffle announced - Rees-Mogg is now Brexit minister - we have no chance now of regaining any credibility with the EU!

Thank you so much. That’s hilarious. 😂

Not that I’m a massive Boris fan, but he’s had a hell of a two years.
Became PM, faced a global pandemic straight afterwards pretty much, been on a ventilator with covid, got married, had two children and lost his mother.

That’s quite a bit to go through isn’t it?

SueSaid · 08/02/2022 17:03

Yep and here we are one the first countries to be exiting the pandemic in a strong position economically and without any restrictions. I believe in Italy you need a face cover to walk down the street.

Still never mind that, let's get back to mocking Dorries and Mogg.

Blossomtoes · 08/02/2022 17:06

Yes, let’s.

VikingOnTheFridge · 08/02/2022 17:08

Strong position economically?!

Ah we're back to poor Boris, what a time of it he has had. Have we come full circle with the excuses already?
Maybe if it is all too much for him he could just fuck off and just tell more lies in newspapers rather than in the House of Commons and everywhere else. Not sure he was on a ventilator either.

Languishingonthesidelines · 08/02/2022 17:14

Been on a ventilator ? Didn't think he needed intubation...

Yes and Gordon Brown lost his 10-day old daughter while Chancellor of the Exchequer

David Cameron lost his six year old disabled son and his father while PM.

Theresa May managed to do the job during very turbulent times with type 1 diabetes

Blair had a baby while in office and three other dc and survived two and a bit terms (3 election victories).and had a minor heart scare

So BJ is no different really.

Peregrina · 08/02/2022 17:30

Poor Boris hey. Well, he wanted to be PM, so no sympathy there. Been on a ventilator - no I don't think so, but might have helped himself by trying to avoid catching covid, instead of boasting how he'd been shaking hands with Covid patients. Got married and had two children - could have avoided all of those by being faithful to his previous wife. OK couldn't help losing his mother. He wasn't alone there and most people weren't allowed to hold proper funerals at the time he was partying.

Choccy21 · 08/02/2022 17:31

Not sure why Tony Blair had a hard time. He became a multi millionaire after ten years as PM. He also took over at a good time in the boom years. Then left before a financial crises started.
Yes other modern day PMs have had a rough ride, I just commented that BJ has had a turbulent two years!

VikingOnTheFridge · 08/02/2022 17:31

And if it is all getting too much for Boris, he can just go. There'd be no shame in it, unlike most of his behaviour. It would actually be quite understandable if a man pushing 60 couldn't manage a very demanding job barely two years after a serious illness, particularly having had two babies in the interim.

He didn't.

Blossomtoes · 08/02/2022 17:43

I felt desperately sorry for Gordon Brown when his little daughter died. He was so obviously devastated.
