Neighbour stole my delivery?

Eleanr · 31/01/2022 19:26

Have NC as I don't want this linked to my other posts. Could be outing.

I ordered a £600 item online. Normally when I order expensive items I have to give a code, which is sent via email, to the delivery driver.

I was out today and got an email to say my package had been delivered. There was a picture included, which was very obviously my neighbour.

I thought, great, that's fine! We often take parcels in for each other. When I went to collect it from her she denied all knowledge. I was a bit flustered trying to take the dogs/ shopping inside so I just said "oh okay there must be some mistake" and went into my house.

Now I've looked closer at the pic just to make sure and it's definitely her house, she must have jt!

What would you do? I don't want to accuse her of stealing, but.... ?

Absolutely bonkers that people do this!

Mummapenguin20 · 31/01/2022 21:46

Hope this gets sorted

Avocadoandlemons · 31/01/2022 21:48

Do you have a street WhatsApp group you could aware the time date qnd GPS stamped photo on asking who has it, if anyone recognises the hallway and person?

Avocadoandlemons · 31/01/2022 21:49

That could shame her into handing it over?

Avocadoandlemons · 31/01/2022 21:49

Or print the photo and post through everyone's letterbox on the street!

jobsagudden · 31/01/2022 21:50

This is crazy!!! Are the neighbours usually ok or is this normal behaviour? Why would anyone do that!

AAAAAGHH · 31/01/2022 21:51

All the laughing 😂 you are posting OP
You are not coming across as that bothered about your "neighbour stealing your parcel"

Wonnle · 31/01/2022 21:51

So first the picture is of her with the parcel then when you looked again it was her house ?

Im2022 · 31/01/2022 21:52

phishy
I’m on tender hooks! 🤣

"Tenter" not tender

We’ll this is what I’m here for 🤣🤣🤣 tender hooks 🤣

Grandville · 31/01/2022 21:52

Can you see the box branding in the photo?

Kroot · 31/01/2022 21:54

Was the parcel in the photo too?

FannyFifer · 31/01/2022 21:55

Lol at the total cheek of this, there's a photo ffs. Phone the police.

Malhao · 31/01/2022 21:56

Hmm hope you get some sort of resolution soon

Kelly7889 · 31/01/2022 21:56

If she did steal it, she won't dare keep it. She'll move it on fast for the money.
I would check Ebay from now on, (do one of those searches within so many miles of your home) and if you have a Cash Converters/ Money Spinner shop in your town, check there. Also Gumtree.
I kind of hope this is some terrible mistake and she hasn't got it, but realistically, the proof is there. I would want to know if she really did that for my own peace of mind.

CrushedPistachios · 31/01/2022 21:56

Have you actually contacted the police yet?

affairsofdragons · 31/01/2022 21:57

@Eleanr

She's just text me again saying that the picture I sent her was from three months ago when she took in my pet food delivery. It was not!
Tell her you're glad she recognises it's her house, as you do, too. But you can prove the delivery company sent this image to you today with today's delivery.
BonnesVacances · 31/01/2022 21:58

While we're waiting for CFN to fess up to having the parcel, maybe OP could take some tips from this story on Twitter. Grin

And FB market place

Caddycat · 31/01/2022 21:58

Surely the delivery company is at fault for not asking for the code? I know the CF shouldn't get away with it, but I'd claim from the delivery company if you don't get anywhere with the neighbour.

Mouldyfeet · 31/01/2022 21:59

I never knew it was ‘tenter’ hooks…..although I’ve never a actually seen this written down 😂😂😂😂

PeakyBlender · 31/01/2022 21:59

The photo must have the parcel in it, does it say Dyson on?

IWasHotInTheNineties · 31/01/2022 21:59

Say you will put it on social media that your parcels been stolen to warn other people.
You will be adding that even though there’s a picture of Karen McKarens at number 22 Karen Street with your parcel she’s saying it isn’t her and your parcel has been stolen, you are puzzled and can’t figure out what’s going on. Wink
Has anyone seen your missing parcel?
Then sit back and wait for everyone to point out the obvious Grin

GrandDuchessRomanov · 31/01/2022 22:02

Perhaps the parcel is hidden behind a chester draws?

FirstTimeSecondTime · 31/01/2022 22:03

What a weird situation

MadameFantabulosa · 31/01/2022 22:04

I’d go to the police. But would also try the delivery company or the retailer.
