How long does javelin arse last?

It happened to me last week for the first time in ages. It lasted about 5-6 seconds.

I was just wondering whether, when we describe javelin arse, are we all experiencing the same thing?

Does it only last a few seconds for others as well?

What's it called when you get both at once?

15 minutes or more. I lie on my side, deep breathe, get cold sweats, nearly pass out, nearly throw up, want to die, etc. Its awful.

Bloody hell, thanks for this. I thought it'd be internal haemorrhoids but have been doing what you said to ease the pain. I once woke up to this pain, lasted minutes.

Up to 20 seconds I’d say. Last time DH was rather alarmed to suddenly find me clinging to a clothes rack in H&M unable to speak.

I’d not had this for ages (known as shooty arse here) but had a 10 second stab today.

Add that to the massive abdominal wound I’ve got at the moment and I’ve had a cracking day

A couple of seconds but it incapacitates me . If it lasted more than a few seconds I think I'd be screaming in pain. It stops me in my tracks :( I didn't know it had a name until I saw it on here .

Genuinely have zero clues what it is your talking about still, for which I am very very grateful as it sounds awful. Perhaps is because I haven't been to Center Parcs either

Blimey, I dream of it lasting 3 seconds.
Had first one in ages during last night and it was a short attack for me- only about 10 minutes.
Dangling with your arse over the edge of the bath helps, as does a hot water bottle on offending area.

What is it ?? Never heard of the term and now I've seen people's explanations, I'm still mystified.

What causes it?

Proctalgia Fugax- no known cause, something to do with a muscle spasm.

There's something similar causing similar pain which is cyclical- that's when a pouch fills or empties (can't remember which) with blood around the time of ovulation.

I've my period at the moment so enjoying the randomness of this horror today!

But fuck me, 15 mins of it?! mine lasts long enough to literally say wtf! And it goes!

Your arse is probably experiencing sympathy or pseudo pains from viewing the dangerous material.

It's not a risk I'd be willing to take.

Javelin arse is a short sharp pain that only lasts a few seconds, proctalgia fugix is a sort of a pulsing, rhythmic, gripping pain that can last up to about 40 minutes. Lucky me gets both, though not at the same time thank fuck.

Oh up to 10-15 seconds for me. I’m sure I’ve watched a video from a doctor explaining this before, something to do with hormones in the menstrual cycle affecting the bowels but I cannot for the life of me find it now.
