How long does javelin arse last?

TiffanyAchingsHatFullofSky · 29/01/2022 22:20

It happened to me last week for the first time in ages. It lasted about 5-6 seconds.

I was just wondering whether, when we describe javelin arse, are we all experiencing the same thing?

Does it only last a few seconds for others as well?

People post some weird shit on here. Confused

Fanny daggers... classic

What's it called when you get both at once?

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 29/01/2022 22:40

15 minutes or more. I lie on my side, deep breathe, get cold sweats, nearly pass out, nearly throw up, want to die, etc. Its awful.

Undecicive · 29/01/2022 22:41

@Supersimkin2

Proctalgia fugix.

Bear down as if pooing and it eases faster.

Bloody hell, thanks for this. I thought it'd be internal haemorrhoids but have been doing what you said to ease the pain. I once woke up to this pain, lasted minutes.
warmeduppizza · 29/01/2022 22:42

Up to 20 seconds I’d say. Last time DH was rather alarmed to suddenly find me clinging to a clothes rack in H&M unable to speak.

Singlebutmarried · 29/01/2022 22:42

I’d not had this for ages (known as shooty arse here) but had a 10 second stab today.

Add that to the massive abdominal wound I’ve got at the moment and I’ve had a cracking day

ExplodingCarrots · 29/01/2022 22:42

A couple of seconds but it incapacitates me . If it lasted more than a few seconds I think I'd be screaming in pain. It stops me in my tracks :( I didn't know it had a name until I saw it on here .

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 29/01/2022 22:42

Too fucking long. Often when I'm on my period
Going for a poo relieves it but I can't go because of the pain Confused

ExplodingCarrots · 29/01/2022 22:43

It's usually when I'm about to get period or whilst got it.

GrandDuchessRomanov · 29/01/2022 22:43

How can I have got to 51 and never heard of this?

What causes it?

Sweet Jesus Christ.... if this has ever happened, is the poor person still living to tell the tale?!
HappyGoLuckyLuLu · 29/01/2022 22:44

Genuinely have zero clues what it is your talking about still, for which I am very very grateful as it sounds awful. Perhaps is because I haven't been to Center Parcs either Grin

puddock · 29/01/2022 22:45

Proctalgia fugax

MooSakah · 29/01/2022 22:46

15 minutes!!! Of javelin arse?! Is it a women only thing? I feel like if men got it there would be a treatment by now.

PAFMO · 29/01/2022 22:48

Blimey, I dream of it lasting 3 seconds.
Had first one in ages during last night and it was a short attack for me- only about 10 minutes.
Dangling with your arse over the edge of the bath helps, as does a hot water bottle on offending area.

Hardtofindafreename · 29/01/2022 22:49

What is it ?? Never heard of the term and now I've seen people's explanations, I'm still mystified.

FireFLYing19 · 29/01/2022 22:49

What does everyone else call this? We call it bum daggers.

CrazyCatLover · 29/01/2022 22:50

😂😂😂

youhavenoshameonyourface · 29/01/2022 22:50

I honestly thought it was just me.

What the hell is it? It's bloody excrutiating.

Could looking centre parcs webpages cause it?

PAFMO · 29/01/2022 22:50

@GrandDuchessRomanov

Proctalgia Fugax- no known cause, something to do with a muscle spasm.

There's something similar causing similar pain which is cyclical- that's when a pouch fills or empties (can't remember which) with blood around the time of ovulation.

MichelleScarn · 29/01/2022 22:51

I've my period at the moment so enjoying the randomness of this horror today!

MichelleScarn · 29/01/2022 22:52

But fuck me, 15 mins of it?! Shock mine lasts long enough to literally say wtf! And it goes!

hamsterchump · 29/01/2022 22:53

Your arse is probably experiencing sympathy or pseudo pains from viewing the dangerous material.

It's not a risk I'd be willing to take.

Deadringer · 29/01/2022 22:53

Javelin arse is a short sharp pain that only lasts a few seconds, proctalgia fugix is a sort of a pulsing, rhythmic, gripping pain that can last up to about 40 minutes. Lucky me gets both, though not at the same time thank fuck.

ProudThrilledHappy · 29/01/2022 22:53

Oh up to 10-15 seconds for me. I’m sure I’ve watched a video from a doctor explaining this before, something to do with hormones in the menstrual cycle affecting the bowels but I cannot for the life of me find it now.
