OK hope I can explain this without outing myself.

I work part time and have my lunch at 11.30, the full timers all go for lunch at 1.30. Yesterday an urgent project came up that had to be finished by 3pm.
I had already had my lunch as it hadn't come through by then. Some of the full timers decided to take their lunches after 3pm to complete the project.
One of my colleagues kept complaining about how hungry she was I replied - Im feeling hungry now too, I can't moan though Ive had lunch and I'm finishing soon.
She reported me to my manager for rubbing it in the full timers faces that I was finishing and had my lunch 🤣

I wouldn't have reported you but I see where she was coming from.

MrsWhites · 29/01/2022 13:29

That might be the pettiest complaint to a manager ever! Your colleague must be very easily offended!

PrincessNikla · 29/01/2022 13:29

And what did your manager say (when they had stopped laughing) ?

CornishTiger · 29/01/2022 13:29

Sounds like a toxic place to work in. Strange response from you too.

ClariceQuiff · 29/01/2022 13:29

I can't see what there was to report - it was just a factual comment.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 29/01/2022 13:30

Let her crack on. Reported for "rubbing it in her face". Bloody hell Grin

BBCONEANDTWO · 29/01/2022 13:31

Bet your manager's having a laugh with the other managers about your silly colleague. Honestly that's so ridiculous.

Owlink · 29/01/2022 13:31

Is she 4?

WeatherwaxOn · 29/01/2022 13:32

They opted to take a late lunch. They could have had lunch earlier.

Cigfree · 29/01/2022 13:33

@Owlink

Is she 4?
This!
Ceramide · 29/01/2022 13:33

Remind her that full time workers receive a full time wage?

merrygoround23 · 29/01/2022 13:33

They're petty but hangryness is no joke, they probably did think you were rubbing it in and it does sound abit annoying but 100% not worthy of being reported

AlexaShutUp · 29/01/2022 13:33

She has made herself look an idiot in front of her manager. Just leave her to get on with it.

girlmom21 · 29/01/2022 13:34

You should've told her exactly what you'd eaten and that it was delicious too. What an arse Grin

CanofCant · 29/01/2022 13:36

Ridiculous. We all have different lunch times, and lots of equally mundane and innocuous remarks are made but no one cares because it doesn't matter.

DoNotGetADog · 29/01/2022 13:37

It’s unreasonable to report you, but surely you must realise that if someone’s not had any lunch at all by 3pm as they are working and you have had yours, then saying “I’m hungry too” is not the done thing.

Ponoka7 · 29/01/2022 13:38

I hope that the manager just puts it down to her being hangry.

Eleganz · 29/01/2022 13:38

Do these urgent requests happen a lot? Were the rest of the team told to postpone their lunch breaks or did so voluntarily? If these things are commonplace and people are regularly being made to postpone breaks to get things done I'd probably take this as a warning as a manager that I need to look at how we deal with urgent requests and whether there are ways to do it better.

However, I would also be clear to the employee who made the complaint that I did not see anything problematic in your comment and would not be following it up with you.

Are you for real 🙄
DamnShesaSexyChick · 29/01/2022 13:41

She’s pathetic

Blueeyedgirl21 · 29/01/2022 13:41

Jesus Christ what is wrong with some people
How does she have the energy to be arsed about this stuff! Unless you have history and she dislikes you anyway?

Why not? OP's allowed to feel peckish.

The colleague should've just gone and got some food instead of being a martyr.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 29/01/2022 13:43

I wouldn’t have reported you but it is a bit of a dick comment from you.

Toasterandjam · 29/01/2022 13:44

Can't believe how petty your colleague is. Manager will surely think she's a bit of an idiot.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 29/01/2022 13:44

Next time you're in, bring an elaborate multi-course lunch with silverware, wine glass etc. Linen tablecloth, mini vase of flowers, tealights. Lay it all out at your desk.
