I just think that’s very convenient is it all made up to garner sympathy. Can’t trust anything that’s said in regard to BoJo !

Aye, rightHmm

SickAndTiredAgain · 20/01/2022 06:38

If it is true, then I definitely believe that they (Boris plus advisors) sat around and discussed when the best time to leak the news would be, politically speaking. I have no difficulty at all believing he’d use his child’s illness like that.

megletthesecond · 20/01/2022 06:45

It's her constantly lying father people are criticising.

Not little Romy who everyone hopes is OK.

ThesecondLEM · 20/01/2022 07:08

Personally cannot wait for the Mini Series. I mean, it's all so fucking unbelievable really.

Question is - who would play Johnson and Cummings?

Christopher Biggings maybe?

TenoringBehind · 20/01/2022 07:20

This thread demonstrates exactly why he can no longer be PM. Nobody can believe a word he says about anything, and it does seem that he would lie about anything and everything for his own ends.

Flocon · 20/01/2022 07:21

There's so much around I don't see why it would be a lie. It's not going to make any affect on how hated he is right now.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 20/01/2022 07:28

I think a thread speculating on the health of a baby no matter who their father is, is in very poor taste.

Boris is fair game but his children aren’t (no politicians children are).

52andblue · 20/01/2022 07:29

@RaskolnikovsGarret

Surely he wouldn’t lie about that? He’s an appalling liar, but surely even he would have some limits…?? Maybe that’s why the Press went a bit quiet during that period. If it’s not true, it’s a disgrace.
I believe Johnson would lie whether / when one of his children is sick, yes. He lies about how many of them even exist after all! I did wonder about his own much publicised illness (ie whether he was 'also' drying out too). But yes, he breathes, he lies. Whilst I wouldn't wish illness on anyone, especially a baby, IF his child was ill that is a private affair for the family. It's distasteful to splash it all over the press the day after he has received a drubbing down in the HoC but that's his style, to 'use' everyone.
Whydidimarryhim · 20/01/2022 07:30

Oh yes he did a disappearing act after last weeks attempts to sweep it under the carpet. He continues to think most of us are fools. His child may have been I’ll but he didn’t need to isolate. He continues to do as he pleases. Thankfully he’s on his way out - he’s arrogant, a bumbling overgrown toddler who needs to f……off soon!!!!!

TulipsGarden · 20/01/2022 07:32

@Tealightsandd I completely agree and have thought that all along - the people partying at No. 10 knew they would receive preferential treatment if ill. No waiting until they had blue lips for them. And now we do have effective drugs to treat Covid, but we haven't made enough yet to treat everyone who needs it... but you can bet your life someone 'important' like the PM will get the good stuff.

Smallkeys · 20/01/2022 07:34

I think that’s the key here. He is so poorly regarded that I and other people think he would stoop so low as to use his baby at a convenient time and possibly even lie about.

The article said the baby was on the mend and I wouldn’t have posted if that wasn’t the case no one here wished any harm to a baby because her dad is BOJO. Mind you he has a lot of children running around having him as a dad poor kids.

BringYourOwnBoris · 20/01/2022 07:35

Boris plotted and schemed to get rid of Teresa May, claiming he'd get Brexit done, when actually he only "achieved" that in the same time frame as she would have done anyway. I'm not any sort of Tory, but at least May gave off some sensibility and looked far better on a world stage.
I wonder how she feels about all this?

Emmelina · 20/01/2022 07:39

The newborn?
A baby of the same age of those we see all the time on AIBU under the title of “my baby isn’t a pass the parcel!” and “what if someone has a hidden cold sore? Stay away from my baby!”?

Of course she did. I don’t think he can stoop much lower to use that as an excuse, honestly.

Smallkeys · 20/01/2022 07:40

I totally agree about Theresa May I think she would have been much better during the pandemic. No one was going to get brexit done properly.

ToykotoLosAngeles · 20/01/2022 07:41

The headline is on The Times, Mirror, Mail and Telegraph, for whoever asked.

I think strategically releasing this info as a last-ditch attempt for sympathy after his 5-stage party defence failed (no party, work event, I only went for 25 minutes, I'm really sorry, wait no I'm not because nobody warned me) is disgusting and exactly what I would expect of a man with such contempt for us all.

Smallkeys · 20/01/2022 07:43

But worries about Sunak he is a bit too polished so not sure he is going to be much better. Seems TM was ousted for a job that was impossible and BJ just carries on. I’m no Tory but who is suitable . Keir is another polished strutter .

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 20/01/2022 07:46

Every time Boris does anything a thread will start and the Boris bashing commences.
You may as well have one long thread or a daily ‘Let’s bash Boris’ thread. No reason why required.
Grin

ToykotoLosAngeles · 20/01/2022 07:48

By "polished" do you mean they look like they've brushed their hair and got clean undies on? That would be an improvement.

Smallkeys · 20/01/2022 07:51

Ha ha yes Boris could do with being introduced to a comb ....

VelvetChairGirl · 20/01/2022 07:53

He's the kind of man that would throw anything out there. The dog ate his party invite, the dogs been hit by a car, he has distemper etc etc

Notonthestairs · 20/01/2022 07:54

I hope Baby Romy is thriving. I wouldn't wish covid on anyone let alone a 6 week old.

But there was no need to release her health details. It's private. So given the timing I think it's fair to conclude it's in the headlines to garner sympathy.

rrhuth · 20/01/2022 07:56

I do not doubt Romy had covid, and I really hope she is fully recovered and has no ongoing symptoms. I have been worried about the health of all children whilst the government has tried to downplay the risks.

The illness of his child has nothing to do with Johnson's complete unsuitability for the job of PM.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/01/2022 07:58

He's lying.

When is he ever not lying?

itsgettingweird · 20/01/2022 07:59

@MeanderingGently

I find the nastiness on this thread quite shocking. OK, so some people don't like Boris but the fact that his baby daughter has been quite ill with COVID deserves sympathy.

I hate the constant griping and moaning over the PM, the media have conducted a despicable campaign against him. I have generally kept off the threads asking whether anyone would vote for him again, as I don't want to be accused of being 'goady', but quite honestly, enough is enough.

There are some people who still support him, and believe he generally has done his best despite some mistakes....I am one of them. Everyone has their own opinion, but to hear the accusations and name-calling regarding a time which must have been difficult for the family, is bloody dreadful.

No one is wanting the young dd to be ill.

What people don't believe is that she actually had covid.

Because it's convenient how he had to isolate during a huge scandal - when he actually doesn't have to isolate legally - and think using his dd is to garner sympathy.

Although apparently he didn't know parties are against the rules so we could I guess believe he doesn't know his own rules around isolation 🤦‍♀️Grin

SisterAgatha · 20/01/2022 08:00

Such a shame because her parents have done everything possible to stop the poor thing catching it…

Oh wait.
