I just think that’s very convenient is it all made up to garner sympathy. Can’t trust anything that’s said in regard to BoJo !

Absolutely dreadful thread.

I wish the baby well. Her parents must have been very worried about her, as any parents would be.

BringYourOwnBoris · 20/01/2022 08:37

@Sparklingbrook

Well, if he didn't keep doing awful things, there wouldn't be these threads would there?

We’ll one long thread would be better TBF. I think most have their ‘go to’ Boris comments ready to C&P at every and any opportunity Grin

And yet here you are commenting Hmm If you don't like the Boris threads, maybe don't open them.
KurtWilde · 20/01/2022 08:38

@Fupoffyagrasshole

Even if she does - big deal - everyone had bloody covid at this stage - 🤦‍♀️
Is this how we talk about all people with covid now? Or just Boris's newborn? Whether it's true or not this is a fucking awful comment.
StripyHorse · 20/01/2022 08:42

What makes me mad is that if his baby did have covid (rather than 'isolating' it may have been because he was off due to the seriousness of it)... he then goes and removes further mitigations, including a view to removing isolation of positive cases. He hasn't learned a thing from it... or has but doesn't care as long as it is someone else's baby.

So many CEV people are effectively still shielding, or are worried that family members will bring covid home from work and school. Hospitalisations from covid in children are higher than at any other point - but this government is fine with that.

lemmein · 20/01/2022 08:42

A lot of people can identify with the last bit, as (with the exception of mumsnet), most people have bent the rules a bit and used their common sense to balance out benefit and risk.

The people on mumsnet didn't make the rules - nor did they authorise fining plebs that broke them!

Sparklingbrook · 20/01/2022 08:43

I think you’ll find I can open and comment on whatever threads I like. Hmm. I find the Boris threads fascinating. I always wonder how long it takes to get to his hair. Grin

Peregrina · 20/01/2022 08:47

Boris is fair game but his children aren’t (no politicians children are).

The why has he (conveniently) allowed this to become news?

SarahBellam · 20/01/2022 08:52

@Hortensia16

I think it’s indicative of how far he’s fallen and of how little he is trusted. His behaviour has been genuinely appalling and this is seen as yet another attempt at him manipulating us - he’s played the dead. At card and now he’s playing the sympathy card. This is a private matter for him and his family and it’s far too convenient that this information is released while the public is rightly extremely angry.
WellThatsMeScrewed · 20/01/2022 08:52

Either Boris has lied about this (inhumane) or he has allowed it to become news for political game (in humane).

There is absolutely no reason for this to be in the press unless he chose it to be. You have to ask why would he do this. Would you share private information about your child to the world? No.

herecomesthsun · 20/01/2022 08:52

@MeanMrMustardSeed

Don’t kid yourselves that everyone doesn’t trust Boris / everyone wants him out / everyone hates him. There are a lot of people that still think he’s the best person for the job, that he’s delivered Brexit and The Vaccination and that he’s made a few mistakes, broken a few rules and tried to get away with it. A lot of people can identify with the last bit, as (with the exception of mumsnet), most people have bent the rules a bit and used their common sense to balance out benefit and risk.

I wouldn’t write him off yet.

I agree to some extent.

Everyone knew he was a lying, incompetent chancer when they voted him in as Prime Minister.

He has lived down to expectations.

I'm not sure that in his ramshackle cabinet there is anyone who stands out as more suited to the job, that the Tory faithful would prefer. Liz Truss anyone?

ThinWomansBrain · 20/01/2022 08:53

why is he releasing this information to the public? It's a private matter.
To be fair (like I always am to Boris Grin, there is a thread on here alleging he's hiding in a fridge

SueSaid · 20/01/2022 08:57

'Whatever people think of Boris, some of the comments dismissing the potentially serious illness of a small child are vile. If she had COVID it will be easy enough to verify esp if she’s been really ill with it.'

Ths.

Jesus, wtf is wrong with some of you. Has he announced it?? or has it probably been leaked to the gossipy press.

Smallkeys · 20/01/2022 08:58

The latest headline is he will fight to the bitter end !

OP posts:
LillianGish · 20/01/2022 08:58

Does anyone believe anything he says? Or that anything he does say is only announced with the intention of deflecting from criticism he’s facing. If Romy was really so sick with Covid then why is he so keen to drop the isolation rules? Isn’t that just putting other people’s babies at risk? Boris would do anything and say anything if he thought it would save his own skin.

SueSaid · 20/01/2022 09:00

A 'source' says the 6 week old was hit quite badly with covid.

Well good that he stayed off, as he should have and good that she is now recovering. That is what the thread should be about.

LemonTT · 20/01/2022 09:01

I don’t know if he lied but he is a hypocrite.

Today he lifts restrictions that protect people and babies from Covid. If he witnessed his child being so Ill, then why won’t he protect other peoples children.

Basically he said. COVID made my child very sick. But I don’t give a damn about your kids as long as I keep my job.

SueSaid · 20/01/2022 09:04

'Today he lifts restrictions that protect people and babies from Covid. If he witnessed his child being so Ill, then why won’t he protect other peoples children.'

Because we can't keep restrictions for ever obviously, no matter how much Labour are desperate to.

Babies sick with covid aren't that common so of course there's no need for 'just in case' restrictions.

stamina · 20/01/2022 09:08

He is giving into the demands of the far right of his party to save his own skin (and in doing so ensuring that millions of people unnecessarily contract Covid)

Tilltheend99 · 20/01/2022 09:08

It’s probably true but the info has been conveniently held back to try and create sympathy and headlines to distract from the fact that Boris is a useless sack.

Lolamento · 20/01/2022 09:09

@belowaverage

Poor kid hope she gets better soon. As for getting rid of Boris, be careful what you wish for... rather have the devil than his brother.
Once and if Boris go. The left would move onto the next Tory to rip into pieces. It is bloody boring and predictable. At the end of the day the ones that will suffer more are themselves. As seen in countries that went through this.
Skeumorph · 20/01/2022 09:11

@MeanderingGently

I find the nastiness on this thread quite shocking. OK, so some people don't like Boris but the fact that his baby daughter has been quite ill with COVID deserves sympathy.

I hate the constant griping and moaning over the PM, the media have conducted a despicable campaign against him. I have generally kept off the threads asking whether anyone would vote for him again, as I don't want to be accused of being 'goady', but quite honestly, enough is enough.

There are some people who still support him, and believe he generally has done his best despite some mistakes....I am one of them. Everyone has their own opinion, but to hear the accusations and name-calling regarding a time which must have been difficult for the family, is bloody dreadful.

Ah let me just stop you there at the words ‘fact’ and ‘Boris’ in the same sentence 🤣

because it’s the entire point of the thread.

People are reacting like this because of who he is and what he does and those are the only ‘facts’ - you can hardly be surprised at this surely!

SueSaid · 20/01/2022 09:12

'It’s probably true but the info has been conveniently held back to try and create sympathy'

Surely, surely last week when the media has been most rabid would have the time to leak it if his baby was poorly? Not now after his storming performance at PMQs and the announcement of restrictions ending.

Biscuitsneeded · 20/01/2022 09:13

Newborns don't tend to go out and socialise independently. Unlikely she got it unless another family member also had it and chose not to declare/isolate. Just musing...

GodfatherofCoaching · 20/01/2022 09:14

Distasteful thread.

Ontopofthesunset · 20/01/2022 09:15

The timing of the news is what makes it clear that this is a desperate attempt to create sympathy for him.
