I just think that’s very convenient is it all made up to garner sympathy. Can’t trust anything that’s said in regard to BoJo !

I really hope the baby is ok and did not suffer.
How awful, if it is true.

I hope this news is not true. If they are lying about the baby having covid, then shame on them.

If they are not lying, I hope all is well with their baby, either way.

480Widdio · 20/01/2022 02:27

Boris lies so much,it has got to the point where I don’t believe ANYTHING he says.

Utter disgrace of a PM,cannot wait for him to be gone, hideous man.

SarahBellam · 20/01/2022 03:07

Can’t move for dead cats in No.10. Anything to distract from his utter, utter, distain for the people he is supposed to serve. BBC funding one day, lifting of restrictions the next, and now a baby with covid. What next? My money is on painting wine crates to look like buses, gas bills, or a bridge somewhere nonsensical. We see you, Boris Johnson. You’re fooling nobody except those halfwit backbenchers still holding you afloat.

@MeanderingGently

I find the nastiness on this thread quite shocking. OK, so some people don't like Boris but the fact that his baby daughter has been quite ill with COVID deserves sympathy.

I hate the constant griping and moaning over the PM, the media have conducted a despicable campaign against him. I have generally kept off the threads asking whether anyone would vote for him again, as I don't want to be accused of being 'goady', but quite honestly, enough is enough.

There are some people who still support him, and believe he generally has done his best despite some mistakes....I am one of them. Everyone has their own opinion, but to hear the accusations and name-calling regarding a time which must have been difficult for the family, is bloody dreadful.

He held parties and then lied about them at a time when people were unable to say goodbye to loved ones in hospital. When we weren’t allowed to meet with more than one person and then only outside. When staff in hospitals and care homes were on their knees trying to cope with the sheer numbers of people getting really really sick. He broke his own regulations and then lied and lied again. He is a liar or an idiot. Or perhaps both. I can’t believe anyone thinks that ok. I can’t believe you’re condoning that behaviour. The press are not lying. These parties actually happened. When you have to resort to saying, ‘he did his best’ you know that means he failed but at least he tried hard. He didn’t though - he held parties, he gave Cummings a free pass when he broke the law, he gave dodgy PPE contracts to his mates. If you want to support him, go ahead, but look at yourself and see the behaviour you are condoning. You actually think this is all ok.

@kittensinthekitchen

He has spent the past 2 years telling us that OUR children are not at harm from covid.

Yet now claims his daughter was very ill.

He's spent two years telling us mostly the old and disabled are vulnerable to covid.

Yet he was very ill himself.

He is a bare faced liar and not a word out of his mouth can be trusted.

Yes quite.

I thought covid was mild for children and it doesn't matter if our kids catch it Angry

Support him all you like, no one wishes anything but the best for any baby but the reality is Johnson is not fit to be PM and family ill health doesn't change that.

The two things are separate.

Iggly · 20/01/2022 04:43

I believe that she did have covid.

But it’s a measure of the man if people don’t believe it.

Having an ill child doesn’t change the fact that Boris is a serial liar who has made and continues to make awful judgements as Prime Minister and he must go.

AlternativePerspective · 20/01/2022 04:44

This thread runs the risk of backfiring spectacularly.

Whatever people think of Boris, some of the comments dismissing the potentially serious illness of a small child are vile. If she had COVID it will be easy enough to verify esp if she’s been really ill with it.

And I really don’t like this suggestion that because most children aren’t very ill this means that this one can’t have been.

And where is this headline anyway? Certainly not on the front pages of any of the papers.

As for Boris, do people really want him to quit knowing what the alternatives could be? Priti Patel is the type who they would vote in, anyone who thinks she would be a better PM needs to genuinely have a look at their values in life.

People seem to fail to see how they’re being manipulated by the press here. Two years ago Dominic cummings was the spawn of Satan and his trips to Barnard castle and calls for his sacking were rife on the front pages. And now he’s being upheld as some kind of paragon of truth and honesty. Come on.

Christian Wakeford played the game well yesterday. His making it all about him in the commons yesterday means that the heat has been taken off of Boris, and now ministers are starting to step back from the idea of a leadership challenge. Defection my arse, more like manipulation and he’ll be back.

Broblem · 20/01/2022 04:45

Poor thing.

Imagine having Boris Johnson as a father.

Iggly · 20/01/2022 04:45

“Some mistakes” doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

CreativeCharlie · 20/01/2022 05:07

I think we're at the 'guilty until proven innocent' stage with BJ. I now believe everything he says is a lie until someone can prove otherwise. I have absolutely no reason to believe this story is true.

He's an utter disgrace of a man and the sooner he goes the better, we are an international laughing stock.

NineteenSeventy2 · 20/01/2022 05:17

I don’t believe it we either - it’s a convenient distraction from the partygate fiasco.

What the hell Carrie sees in him I’ll never know. He’s yuk!

MyOtherProfile · 20/01/2022 05:26

I hate the constant griping and moaning over the PM, the media have conducted a despicable campaign against him.

I've heard it all now. The media feted him for so long that he got where he is. If they've turned on him recently well tough. It's time they started reporting some of the awful things he has done. They certainly didn't hold back or stick to the truth about Corbyn while celebrating Johnson.

gettingmylifetogether · 20/01/2022 05:26

It wouldn't surprise me if she'd had Covid, given her father's attitude to social distancing.

Poor wee mite - you can't choose your parents.

User6397254 · 20/01/2022 05:43

What a nasty thread about a baby

OverByYer · 20/01/2022 05:48

Can’t believe a word the man says. Lower than a snakes belly.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 20/01/2022 05:55

Is this the daughter who happened to be born after her mother walked into hospital the day after some other dodgy revelation about Johnson's behaviour? FFS.

LoudSnoringDog · 20/01/2022 05:55

Assuming this is a lie. Another lie.

pilates · 20/01/2022 06:17

^ agree
I hope that makes you feel good about yourselves, shameful.

Sparklingbrook · 20/01/2022 06:25

This thread. Hmm

jackieh1987 · 20/01/2022 06:26

Give it a few months - the baby will have discovered a cure for cancer, a cheap renewable energy source, and three guaranteed ways to lose weight without dieting.

SickAndTiredAgain · 20/01/2022 06:29

@RaskolnikovsGarret

Surely he wouldn’t lie about that? He’s an appalling liar, but surely even he would have some limits…?? Maybe that’s why the Press went a bit quiet during that period. If it’s not true, it’s a disgrace.
I absolutely believe he would lie about this. Especially since this is just being reported as “according to sources”, so if it’s found to be a lie, he can say “well I never said that”.
Gunpowder · 20/01/2022 06:29

Poor baby. I hope she’s ok. I’m no fan of Johnson or the government but I don’t think anyone would make this up and in London everyone has it/has just had it. I don’t think it’s fair to sneer about it like it’s a ‘just desserts’ for partygate type thing.

I read that Omicron is more severe for babies than earlier iterations of Covid, that’s why they are making up a larger proportion of intensive care admissions than before. I would be a bit worried if it was my newborn baby just as I would be if they contracted flu.

Unescorted · 20/01/2022 06:30

What a nasty thread about a baby

Nobody is saying the baby is awful or deserves to be ill..... just that

a) they don't believe that she is ill because her father has been shown to lie again and again or
b) if she was ill the release of the information was convenient given that she is now on the mend and it comes on the heels of a drubbing for Johnson at PMQs

MrsSkylerWhite · 20/01/2022 06:32

Nanny0gg

Fupoffyagrasshole
Even if she does - big deal - everyone had bloody covid at this stage - 🤦‍♀️
That's a pretty vile thing to say about a newborn.
You wouldn't have been worried if she was yours?“

This. (Nonsense, too. 12 in our immediate family, all ages. No-one has had it. Statistically, the majority will not have).

Poor kid can’t help what she was born into.
