“that if you want something enough, you can achieve it”

“You’re given one life and it’s down to you what you do with it
. You can literally go in any direction. When I’ve spoken about that in the past I have been slammed a little bit, with people saying ‘it’s easy for you to say that because you’ve not grown up in poverty, so for you to sit there and say we all have the same 24 hours in a day is not correct.’ But, technically, what I’m saying is correct. We do.

“I understand we all have different backgrounds and we’re all raised in different ways and we do have different financial situations, but I think if you want something enough you can achieve it. It just depends on what lengths you want to go to get where you want to be in the future. And I’ll go to any length. I’ve worked my absolute arse off to get where I am now.”

Not someone id come across before, a reality star, who has said the above

is she being reasonable or not?

OP posts:
Warmduscher · 07/01/2022 15:41

Has she got a book out?

Youngatheart00 · 07/01/2022 15:42

I’m torn. I agree with the point re work ethic and that you don’t have to have come from great wealth or privilege to be successful. However, I also don’t think that ‘influencer’ is a worthy or legitimate career

Sirzy · 07/01/2022 15:42

She may say she understands everyone comes from different backgrounds but her but her comments show a complete lack of understanding of how the world works.

danni0509 · 07/01/2022 15:43

Molly mae who is literally only famous from being on love island but doesn't want to be associated with love island 😂

WalkingOnSonshine · 07/01/2022 15:44

Correct in the sense that we all have the same time.

Incorrect in the sense that we don’t all have the same resources.

ShirleyPhallus · 07/01/2022 15:44

Didn’t she have sex on TV then was offered a well-paid fashion job off the back of it?

I wouldn’t say she’s the model example I’d like my daughter to follow

But the I also find all the influencers who basically just get their kit off utterly tiresome. What happened to celebrating the achievements of intelligence and / or hard work?

ivykaty44 · 07/01/2022 15:44

Warmduscher no idea, but good point....
as I said, not come across her before, found her trending on twitter this morning

OP posts:
AlphabetStew · 07/01/2022 15:44

Yes! Now to my mantra... I WANT to win the lotto. I WANT to win the lotto. I WANT to win the lotto...

ComDummings · 07/01/2022 15:45

She’s got a very narrow worldview. Maybe put her in one of the sweatshops that make clothes for her associated brand PLT for a few weeks so she can see what hard work really is and how her success depends on the oppression of others.

Horsemad · 07/01/2022 15:45

Who is she? 🤔

GirlInACountrySong · 07/01/2022 15:45

did she grow up in an affluent household? I didnt think she did

Ive always quite liked her, but admittedly, dont know much about her. she's done well for herself from what I do know though

ivykaty44 · 07/01/2022 15:46

achievements of intelligence and / or hard work?

but MM does think she worked hard, so maybe this generation have a different concept of hard work or maybe it was down to hard work?

OP posts:
elelel · 07/01/2022 15:46

She's a twat. She said Beyoncé has the same 24 hours as everyone else as if we could all achieve what Beyoncé has Hmm

ivykaty44 · 07/01/2022 15:47

ComDummings I saw similar tweets this morning on the same lines

OP posts:
elelel · 07/01/2022 15:47

She also said he has worked her ass off. She went on love island for fucks sake. She worked more then her ass

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 07/01/2022 15:47

A mix of Thatcherite-era ‘bootstraps’ bollocks and the latest IG fad of ‘manifestation’. Horseshit, basically.

megletthesecond · 07/01/2022 15:47

I don't think she's ever worked hard or has any life experience. She's very young.
Everyone's "one life" starting point is different. She hasn't yet realised this.

ShirleyPhallus · 07/01/2022 15:47

@ivykaty44

I think it’s a different definition of hard work. How hard is it to go on TV and take your clothes off, rather than work for 14 hours a day learning a trade or putting the hours in for a legal training contract or working for a charity that is trying to end poverty?
DreamerSeven · 07/01/2022 15:48

I’ve no real idea who she is but I’m usually reluctant to judge comments without seeing them in the context of the wider conversation they were made.

ExcuseeeeMe · 07/01/2022 15:48

It’s so ignorant. To think we all have the same chances. Tell that to the starving kids in poverty stricken country’s that can barely afford an education.

WakeUpLockie · 07/01/2022 15:49

I was just in the shop and the radio was talking about how we don’t all have the same hours in the day as Beyoncé (I agree). I guess they were talking about this. I don’t know who Molly Mae is but she sounds a tad sheltered/naive.

SickAndTiredAgain · 07/01/2022 15:50

It’s obviously not correct to say “if you want something enough you can achieve it”. It’s just demonstrably untrue. Even ignoring the very significant effects of what she’s mentioned (financial circumstances etc), she also ignores talent. There are certain things that no amount of training and effort would make me able to do, however much I wanted it.

Jessie75 · 07/01/2022 15:50

I do I actually think she has worked hard in that if you look at Katie Price in the same vain as well she could’ve just got her tits out and made a few thousand that kind of thing and left it at that would’ve been absolutely minted still. But she’s chosen to go beyond her lane And that’s where I think the hard work comes into it she is utilising her fame and making hay while the sunshine’s and MM is doing that as well.

A comment I found really interesting from Jake Paul though is he had a little sly dig at Tommy Fury to say that he needed to get back in the ring unless he was gonna continue to live off Molly mae for the rest of his life now that could just be him being nasty but I did wonder whether there was an element of truth in that ?

BasketBlocks · 07/01/2022 15:50

I get where she’s coming from but the issue she doesn’t really acknowledge is that some people already have a foot up or inherent advantages that make it easier for them to succeed - it’s not automatically the case that people who succeed have worked harder than those who don’t or succeed less (whatever “succeed” actually means).

Japingjaponica · 07/01/2022 15:51

I just like that she has very publicly dissolved her lip-fillers, and got rid of her teeth veneers. So I like that all those teenage girls that follow her see that she is naturally beautiful without shit Injected into her.
