To hate cats

They keep shitting in my front garden. We have gravel down (not our choice - old owners and can't afford to change)
We live in a classic Victorian Terrance in SW London. There are cats everywhere but we keep getting crap by our bins at the front. I know gravel doesn't help but what can I do? It's driving me nuts. Ughhhhh

@winniemarysarah you need to be reported if you're purposely poisoning or killing by any means, cats. You're the reason so many pets go missing. Your comments are disgusting. You alone are responsible for keeping your birds safe and secure.

Shmithecat2 · 08/01/2022 20:18

@Dreamstate

Whats selfish is having 3 flipping cats! I mean at a push id get over one doing a poo but 3! Not to mention one was not well and vomited on the patio and left diarrhea all over the grass.

Smell is so horrendous.

I'll try the cayenne pepper.

I'm kinda glad for winter they haven't been out at all.

I've got 6 💅

If you pop over to the other cat thread on here you will see that cat owners are being told they are responsible for their cats safety and welfare. They don't seem to agree!

Dreamstate · 08/01/2022 22:28

And that is why I now dump the cat shit back to my neighbour...I might chuck it on their doorstep one day and hope they step in it on the way out. Make up for all the money I've had to spend and their contempt for not cat proofing their garden instead.

spotcheck · 09/01/2022 09:24

@Petrarkanian

I'm amazed someone is suggesting poisoning cats and another is saying to kill them.

What the hell is going in in their heads?

Yes..and I got my comment deleted for commenting on how abhorrent that is.
TheBirdScaredOfHeights · 09/01/2022 09:29

OP I bought some of these and they have fixed the problem.

MrsSkylerWhite · 09/01/2022 09:32

Yes, YABU to hate the cats.

We cat-proofed our garden because we have 4 and it would be inconsiderate to let them poo in neighbours’ gardens. If they did, it would be our fault, not theirs.

TheBirdScaredOfHeights · 09/01/2022 09:35

Also find that squirting them with a supersoaker discourages them.

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 09/01/2022 10:24

I like cats but am allergic. I don't mind seeing them in my garden and might have a bit of a conversation with themGrinGrin We do get quite a bit of cat poo in our garden though and DP considered an electronic cat repeller. But both our DC can't stand the noise of them. Of course, as adults DP and I can't hear them, but both our children put their hands over their ears passing by certain houses in our area because the high pitched noise causes them some distress.

@EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall

You'd hate my cat, he went in next door, shat in his bath then stole his chicken breastfed he'd just made for dinner
That's some epic catting there Grin
BigWoollyJumpers · 09/01/2022 11:46

@HunkyPunk

You can’t imagine how much it annoys me to glance out of my window, only to see a dog owner gazing down indulgently at their little darling while it cocks its leg and pisses up against my gatepost. Delightful, and not a thing I can do about it other than glower at the owner and go out afterwards with hot water and disinfectant. Life is full of little trials and tribulations!
Or the ones who think they are virtuous by bagging up their dogs poo, then hanging it on the hedge Angry.
EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 09/01/2022 17:42

@MistyGreenAndBlue it's a good job me and the neighbour get on so well 😐

YANBU. I have the same problem and it drives me crazy!
Sunnytwobridges · 17/01/2022 18:50

Ugh I hate them too. I bought a house from a previous cat owner and house stunk of cat piss for a couple of years until it finally faded away. I had a friend that bought a new house and put in new carpets and they had pissed and tore up the new carpet - within a few months. The house smelt so bad I couldn't go over there. Sad Can't stand the nasty, destructive bastards Grin

Yeah, not all cats do that though. My cats don't piss on my carpets. Cats pissing indoors where they shouldn't is indicative of an ill or stressed cat - that's an owner issue.
LizzieW1969 · 17/01/2022 23:56

@Shmithecat2

I agree with you; my cats don’t do that either. My DH thought a house with pet cats would necessarily be that smelly. He was a pleasant surprise to find that that wasn’t the case; none of my cats have ever urinated on the carpets thankfully. It really doesn’t have to be an issue.

Enough4me · 18/01/2022 00:04

Over the 36 years I've had cats I've never had one wee inside unless accidently shut in a room.

I love cats and happy to be a cat servant. Mine gently snores when she sleeps, she's gorgeous.

Enough4me · 18/01/2022 00:06

*I'm older than 36, but had gerbils before cats. Cats are so much more fun and I can't imagine not having one now.

It's unusual for a cat to piss on carpets like that if they have a litter box or out door's as an option instead. I have my cat 8 years and he's never pissed on the floor or anywhere inside the house other than his litter tray
Sunnytwobridges · 18/01/2022 12:39

Doesn't change my mind - still hate 'em Grin

Not trying to change your mind, I don't care if you hate them or not, I just wanted to object to your untruths :p I've actually house trained a kitten and a Puppy and I can tell you only one of them ended up pissing all over the floors for weeks and it wasn't the Kitten Grin
Hobbesmanc · 18/01/2022 13:29
@Sakura7 I think people have issue with domesticated animals running rampant and killing wild animals. Dogs or cats. Or domesticated terrapins for that matter. The point is that dogs rarely do.
That's not really true. I've seen dogs take down squirrels and pigeons in parks

ChocolateRiver · 18/01/2022 13:40

I’m with you OP. I can’t find any redeeming qualities about cats.

Enough4me · 18/01/2022 21:53

Anyone who hates cats has never had the privilege of being chosen and owned by a cat.

Beansss · 26/02/2022 13:40

Mean because they don't want animal shit on their property? Can I poop in your yard?
