Boris. Would everyone love him if he was not blonde?

Looking at our current PM, it occurred to me that he might not be so appealing to us if he had dark hair? Would he be viewed as a possible case of self neglect requiring assistance rather than the bouncy Labrador he is seen as?

I think the word “appealing” must be a typo.

“Appalling” seems a much better description of Johnson.

His hair do has nothing to do with it. He has acted on the advice of experts and is popular because we have had a relatively normal life since July despite Sir Keith demanding restriction stay in place.

Even now despite Wales and Scotland flapping he is taking a cautious approach.

I think he is an incompetent PM and a selfish person. Nothing I love about him. Don't think different hair would change my opinion.

I can see what you mean in a way op. Before he became prime minister, loads of people said he looks like fun, a bit of a laugh and would be cool to hang out with. But I think it's more his manner than his hair colour, it tends to be just women who are stereotyped based on their hair colour. I mean people still, for some reason, called him intelligent. They don't often use that word to describe blonde women.

Of course he's not intelligent at all, but we are now stuck with him thanks to those who assumed he was.

I think OP talks sense. It's eye-catching and he has milked it to feed into his flamboyant image - one way he stops people looking past that image. I remember reading about a classmate at Eton who spotted him with the ruffled blond hair/ gormless expression in assembly on day 1 and expected him to be the class clown. So I agree with OP - who isn't claiming to find him attractive any more than I would. It's part of his charm / distract / bluster technique and makes him stand out from the crowd. If we was grey / mousy and bald(er), would he have gone for another signature look? Would it have worked? Not sure but I think this has been important to his image and self presentation all his life, and has mattered.

Most people do not “love him”. I personally despise him.
