Boris. Would everyone love him if he was not blonde?

Looking at our current PM, it occurred to me that he might not be so appealing to us if he had dark hair? Would he be viewed as a possible case of self neglect requiring assistance rather than the bouncy Labrador he is seen as?

OP posts:

@Fangdango

I think OP talks sense. It's eye-catching and he has milked it to feed into his flamboyant image - one way he stops people looking past that image. I remember reading about a classmate at Eton who spotted him with the ruffled blond hair/ gormless expression in assembly on day 1 and expected him to be the class clown. So I agree with OP - who isn't claiming to find him attractive any more than I would. It's part of his charm / distract / bluster technique and makes him stand out from the crowd. If we was grey / mousy and bald(er), would he have gone for another signature look? Would it have worked? Not sure but I think this has been important to his image and self presentation all his life, and has mattered.
Agree with this and the OP.

I find it a bit depressing that everyone is leaping to the conclusion that OP personally finds BJ appealing. Do we really have to issue disclaimers for absolutely everything? Clearly, the man is (or was) popular. He got voted in as PM for God’s sake. Doesn’t mean we have to like it.

over2021 · 23/12/2021 19:21

Nope, still a knob.

Boris. Would everyone love him if he was not blonde?
LegallyBlende · 23/12/2021 19:32

Who loves him?

Roussette · 23/12/2021 19:44

Look at all the 'big and clever' comments about Johnson on his very thread

Quite rightly. He's the PM

KloppKrazy · 23/12/2021 19:48

People have an opinion and as he has put himself forward as PM after a prior career of spouting his opinion piece journalism I think it is fair to enough.

KloppKrazy · 23/12/2021 19:48

I'm sure he'd brush it all off.

SueSaid · 23/12/2021 19:55

'Quite rightly. He's the PM'

Ah riiiight. People can call him a cunt repeatedly for doing pretty much the same as every other leader, (actually better with boosters furlough etc) and one poster suggested if he were dead he'd be popular but me calling wibbly starmer 'Sir Keith' isn't big or clever. Got it 🙄.

Mummadeze · 23/12/2021 19:59

It is quite incredible actually how much a hairstyle can define someone. I agree but don’t think it is just being blonde. It is the messy, crazy, disheveled thing too.

EishetChayil · 23/12/2021 20:01

He would still be a monumental prick with any other colour hair.

Roussette · 23/12/2021 20:02

People can call him a cunt repeatedly for doing pretty much the same as every other leader

We're talking about the current leader. It's no use banging on about previous leaders. or even leaders of the Opposition.

No idea what you're on about with 'wibbly' Sttarmer or 'Sir Keith'.

His name is Keir.

luckylavender · 23/12/2021 20:08

@JaniieJones - people who call Keir Starmer Keith are really quite pathetic. It's so playground.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 23/12/2021 20:10

He deliberately messes up his hair before going on TV/being photographed. He is a manipulative lying patronising arsehole who cannot cope with the fact that people are waking up to his utter incompetence and absolute lack of any fucks given.

I reckon he thought being PM would be a jolly old jape which would up his fees for future journalism/public speaking. Then Brexit and Covid hit and he is so far out of his depth he needs a ten foot straw to breathe through.

If he was on fire I wouldn't piss him out, the total cuntweasel.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 23/12/2021 20:11

Actually he might be more appealing if he chopped his fucking head off

Wafflesnsniffles · 23/12/2021 20:12

In what sense has he ever been appealing?

Moonlaserbearwolf · 23/12/2021 20:27

I get what you're saying OP, and probably once upon a time the blond mop served Boris well.
Not any more.

SueSaid · 23/12/2021 20:52

'people who call Keir Starmer Keith are really quite pathetic. It's so playground'

Aww is it? Bit like calling Johnson names and wishing he was dead? Well we're all as 'playground' as each other aren't we hun, hmm?

Anyway. Looks like a good call regards holding off on stronger measures so far doesn't it? Go on, one of you say something positive I dare you.

OhWhyNot · 23/12/2021 20:54

I think the overgrown runt of the pack cherub is part of the appeal

Along with many other things

I find it interesting why people vote for the people they do

Nowayoutonlydown · 23/12/2021 20:55

I don't think anyone loves him even as blond man. Maybe he is viewed as a possible case of self neglect requiring assistance but no one can abide him enough to ensure he gets it, or maybe thats the state of healthcare given the tories ravaging of the NHS?

Roussette · 23/12/2021 20:55

Hun, lol.

Ye gods, you're scraping the barrel with the nonsense now!

Johnson is the PM. We have opinions. Nothing positive to say, no.

Chasingaftermidnight · 23/12/2021 20:58

@luckylavender

Agreed, the ‘Sir Keith’ thing is bizarre - I don’t even get it. Is there a joke behind it or is it just supposed to be funny to get his name wrong?

SueSaid · 23/12/2021 21:00

'Johnson is the PM. We have opinions. Nothing positive to say, no.'

I understand that however it would seem hypocritical that a pp said it was 'playground' calling Starmer 'Keith' on a thread full of posters calling Johnson names and critiquing his hair do. Have an opinion, maybe an intelligent one though?

Aren't you pleased we aren't locked down or is it a case of whatever he does you'll have a sniffy opinion on?

Roussette · 23/12/2021 21:15

Again I will say, he's the PM, not a past PM, not Leader of the Opp. He's answerable. End of.

I'll be as sniffy as I want given his position.

You're not liking this thread much are you....

Happy with my opinions of Johnson, thanks

VladmirsPoutine · 23/12/2021 21:19

I think being blonde helps. I think being white helps even more.

Mangling people's names in an attempt to look witty looks attention seeking and rude. It's not even original - just tedious.

And he isn't the current leader. Johnson is doing precisely nothing because his Cabinet can't agree and he's scared of his backbenchers, not because he has any leadership qualities or credibility.

Same here.
