Boris. Would everyone love him if he was not blonde?

Looking at our current PM, it occurred to me that he might not be so appealing to us if he had dark hair? Would he be viewed as a possible case of self neglect requiring assistance rather than the bouncy Labrador he is seen as?

His sister is worse. She wrote an utterly horrific article on the benefits of slavery in the Times last month. It was abhorrent and she should have been in deep shit.

derxa · 23/12/2021 16:27

and Scotland has had folk in masks all year. Yes the fucking masks for all the difference it has made. The bonfire in our wee town has been cancelled again. Younger people have been punished yet again in Scotland.

longwayoff · 23/12/2021 16:43

Yes, 5thHelena, it's really poorly phrased, my apologies to all. I should have said 'appealing to Tory voters' and made clear my distaste for Bozo. I've raised a lot of blood pressure on here unintentionally, I was just watching him on TV, stuttering, fumbling and obfuscating, employing the sly grin he can't prevent when doing so, and trying to work out why so many Tory voters think he's the bees knees. I couldn't discern any redeeming features or actions until all that was left as a possible answer was The Hair. I remember Jeremy Corbyn thanked David Cameron's mum for her advice on tidying himself up, perhaps she could pop round to Bozo's with a comb.

@KloppKrazy

I have some respect for Thatcher as a person though being anti most of her policies.
She'd have been far more competent at dealing with Covid. She'd understand the science and wasn't afraid of making unpopular decisions if she believed that it was necessary. She''d never have been guilty of "dither and delay".

And even though I don't agree with most of her decisions, I think she was fundamentally ethical. Just had a different set of ethics from me!

Topseyt · 23/12/2021 16:55

Please do not insult labradors! They are lovable and intelligent dogs. I had one for 15 wonderful years and he could have knocked Boris Johnson into a cocked hat.

FangsForTheMemory · 23/12/2021 16:57

I think the hair made him stand out when he was younger.

Now, of course, he stands out for other, less innocent reasons.

SueSaid · 23/12/2021 17:07

'You've not had a loved one in hospital in the last six months have you? They have never returned to anything like normal. Thousands have died without their loved ones being able to visit them.'

A neighbour sadly lost their dm and they were all able to spend time with her. As I say, relatively normal since July. If Sir Keith had been in charge we'd have been in lockdown all year.

AndARiverBeneathYourFeet · 23/12/2021 17:08

I think dark hair would make him look a bit like a fresh-out-of-rehab Paul McCartney tribute act, when I think about it.

I wasn't allowed visitors when I was in hospital at the start of October. No-one was. Only staff and patients were allowed in the building.
Pedalpushers · 23/12/2021 17:28

Personal branding and marketing seems to be very important in politics now and love him or hate him, his brand recognition is very strong.

Calling Keir Starmer "Sir Keith" isn't big or clever. It just makes you look like someone whose opinions can't be taken seriously.
luckylavender · 23/12/2021 17:30

@JaniieJones - because allowing c. 1,000 people to die each week when we could still have had mitigations is so normal.

SueSaid · 23/12/2021 17:53

Jesus. Look at all the 'big and clever' comments about Johnson on his very thread.

'because allowing c. 1,000 people to die each week when we could still have had mitigations is so normal.'

It was pandemic. No one 'allowed' anything, we had much the same sad stats as all 4 home nations and most of Europe.

Anyway, fingers crossed data coming out shows omicron less likely to cause hospitalisations so unlike Scotland and Wales his cautious response may have been the correct one.

SueSaid · 23/12/2021 17:54

This*

QuestionableMouse · 23/12/2021 17:56

I don't like him to start with and that wouldn't change if he looked like Brad Pitt. He'd still be a lying odious little cunt.

luckylavender · 23/12/2021 18:12

@JaniieJones - my point was you said life was normal and it was far from it. Because we have a PM who allows the bodies to pile high.

MistletoeHolly · 23/12/2021 18:30

@JaniieJones

His hair do has nothing to do with it. He has acted on the advice of experts and is popular because we have had a relatively normal life since July despite Sir Keith demanding restriction stay in place.

Even now despite Wales and Scotland flapping he is taking a cautious approach.

I agree with this. The bloke can’t do right for doing wrong - if he locked us all down everyone would be saying what a knob he is for spoiling peoples plans, but now, because he is not locking us all down, everyone is saying he is a knob for not locking us down!
Muminabun · 23/12/2021 18:50

He is a very successful and astute politician. He absolutely knows the game. Yes I do think his hair is part of it. I am concerned about the tone of the thread. The amount of people calling him a cunt. Whatever you think of someone hate on social media is not a good look. This is mumsnet if these are the parents then no wonder kids are bullying each other so mercilessly on social media.

And this ^ according to Mumsnet, if you’re not a left wing, on one knee apologising for existing for being white, you are the antichrist. I remember when labour were in power and it was that party that started running down the NHS. Also, they made it more profitable to stay at home all day then go out and work for a living.
KloppKrazy · 23/12/2021 19:03

He's honestly not a pleasant man himself if you look into it.

MojoDaysxx · 23/12/2021 19:06

The man is a baffoon.

bez91 · 23/12/2021 19:08

What 😂

Redglitter · 23/12/2021 19:10

I dont know anyone who loves him or finds him appealing. Everyone seems to see him for the embarassing dishonest incompetent buffoon he is

Ohyesiam · 23/12/2021 19:13

People love Boris Jonson?

ilovesooty · 23/12/2021 19:17

@MistletoeHolly - inaccurate hyperbole.
