The Christmas dinner or the steak, chips and onion rings. Straight of the bat, which is more appealing?

To me it’s the steak..wondering whether to break with tradition and have this on Christmas Day, first time in my 44 years on earth. Don’t know why that feels so weird fo do! Don’t even like Christmas dinner that much, do you?

I could even go Mexican or curry 😋 all nicer than the Christmas meal

I'm going out for a curry on Christmas day, first time ever and I can't wait!

XenoBitch · 15/12/2021 00:12

My family xmas dinner has been a massive Surf n Turf for years.

Turkey is dry and crap. No one eats for the rest of the year for a a reason.

NMC2022 · 15/12/2021 00:12

I don't like steak Blush
But I am not having Christmas dinner - Indian takeaway for me!!

GreenLunchBox · 15/12/2021 00:13

The turkey dinner looks nicer(gorgeous even,) The steak meal looks dry in comparison

SpicyTool75 · 15/12/2021 00:13

Steak!

DramaAlpaca · 15/12/2021 00:13

I love steak, but for me it'd be the traditional Christmas dinner.

Every year I consider doing something different for all of about 30 seconds, then I realise how much I'd miss being all traditional.

justtheonedc · 15/12/2021 00:13

Steak

sorryforswearing · 15/12/2021 00:13

I love Christmas dinner. Wouldn’t consider anything else on Christmas Day but each to their own.

Shouldigonontraditional · 15/12/2021 00:14

@XenoBitch I know! 🤷🏻‍♀️If it was that nice, we would, only once a year is weird

I love Christmas dinner, with all trimmings, wouldn’t want to have anything else - and then cold cuts on Boxing Day with fresh roasties..

Adore a great steak also, but not on the 25th, no hoho.

Shouldigonontraditional · 15/12/2021 00:15

@DramaAlpaca That’s my worry and I’m not sure why, almost like I wouldn’t be doing Christmas properly, but I’d rather be sat there eating something so so, than something i much prefer…odd isn’t it 🤣

I just have chicken instead of turkey as we prefer it. I prefer traditional Christmas dinner.

WorraLiberty · 15/12/2021 00:15

Definitely Christmas dinner as we have steak every week

TheGriffle · 15/12/2021 00:15

Christmas dinner every time! We only do a full on proper Christmas dinner once a year. I have steak more often than (maybe 2/3 times a year) so it doesn’t seem quite as special as a Christmas dinner.

NMC2022 · 15/12/2021 00:16

In fact this was taken Christmas 2019 (2020 was a takeaway because covid and same this year)

stealthninjamum · 15/12/2021 00:16

I agree op, the steak looks better, but the thing about turkey is the trimmings - roasties, pigs in blankets, stuffing, parsnips, cranberry sauce, gravy. I’ve decided to do a roast chicken this year with the trimmings. It’ll look like the turkey meal I’ve had for the last 40 odd years but will be finished within two days.

Shouldigonontraditional · 15/12/2021 00:16

@Luredbyapomegranate Must admit, I like the leftovers the next day more in a way, cold & stodgy

I had the turkey dinner at lunch today the rest of the family had various meals. Everyone very jealous of my plateful was delicious . I prefer goose but there's nine of us on Christmas Day so turkey it is

legallyfakeblonde · 15/12/2021 00:17

Steak!

Shouldigonontraditional · 15/12/2021 00:17

@WorraLiberty Nice! Where I am it’s expensive for the teeniest Argentinian fillet, so bloody good though

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 15/12/2021 00:17

Hmmmm... roast would be my choice, but if I could swap the turkey for steak, and still keep all the traditional trimmings... yep, that’s my Xmas dinner sorted, thanks!

Electriq · 15/12/2021 00:19

Steak is so over rated 🤢 xmas dinner all day long.

Wishitsnows · 15/12/2021 00:23

You could always have a roast beef dinner. Although I've never had a dry turkey as buy from a farm shop. It's annoying how difficult it is to buy it the rest of the year except some delis as it's great in sandwiches

Davros · 15/12/2021 00:24

I would prefer the turkey with all the trimmings but not necessarily THAT turkey in the photo.
