With no ear defenders, surrounded by a crowd of people, in this December weather?
She always says he still wakes her up at night.. but has no bedtime routine and then does stuff like this!?

In my book that is very wrong, won't be gone till gone 10pm!!

YABU none of your business

ItsAlwaysThere · 07/12/2021 21:55

YABU.

StellaElevator · 07/12/2021 21:55

Mind your own business 🙄

TSSDNCOP · 07/12/2021 21:55

Or he's outside, wrapped up, with his mother, lots of white noise and has no idea it's even nighttime.

Cosmos123 · 07/12/2021 21:55

I assume she is an adult Hmm

ShirleyPhallus · 07/12/2021 21:55

Yeh I think that’s bad. She should have taken him to strip club and show him how to be a proper man.

CouncilHousedAndViolentBaby · 07/12/2021 21:56

YABU

Happyface120 · 07/12/2021 21:56

I'm with you OP. It's bloody awful weather here, but even if not, babies should be be tucked up by now.

Fomofo · 07/12/2021 21:57

Yeah it's not ideal

WheelieBinPrincess · 07/12/2021 21:57

One off, I’m sure he’s fine, wrapped up warm, we don’t live in a particularly cold climate. White noise to him I expect. He’s with his mum.

Go and hand-wring over a child that’s actually being treated badly, there’s enough of them.

Schmoozer · 07/12/2021 21:58

I agree with you OP - stupid idea !

Wondergirl100 · 07/12/2021 21:58

The lovely thing about babies is they are portable and they love being with their mums snuggled up - whatever is going on. Do you know OP that 'bedtime' is a thing invented to fit modern life and as long as babies get enough sleep and cuddles it really doesn't matter how they achieve that.

DerbyshireMama · 07/12/2021 21:59

@TSSDNCOP

You know she said 10 month old right, not week ?
PieMistee · 07/12/2021 21:59

Yabu. In Poland kids are taken every day out for a walk even when it's minus 20. As long as he his well wrapped up.

wineislife21 · 07/12/2021 21:59

I will agree it's not my business, but I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to ask the lovely ladies on mumsnet what they think?
(I'll filter out the AIBU lurkers who love a snappy one liner LOL)

I think it's important for young children to wear ear defenders at sporting events, and also that it wouldn't effect their bedtime routine, for the own child's sake?

Her rod, her back.

Nothing in your OP is a problem and even if it was - see above.

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 07/12/2021 22:00

I think it's bad posting online to get people to insult someone you call a friend.

What will you do of loads of people agree with you? Just bask in the smugness of being superior?

My then baby slept midnight till noon. I took her to all sorts of places at night! 🤷🏻‍♀️
WheelieBinPrincess · 07/12/2021 22:01

Bedtime routines can be broken occasionally though right?! Are you supposed to rigidly stick to them forever even though it might be NYE, or you’re on holiday, or family are visiting, or it’s bonfire night, or you’re having a nice late summer play in the garden?

How joyless.

Kite22 · 07/12/2021 22:02

Totally agree with you OP

I love watching football, but it is not a good place to take a baby, even without the fact it is bitterly cold here tonight (don't know where in the country this is but I presume it is the same.

Skyll · 07/12/2021 22:02

Ear defenders at a sporting event is important!? Since when?

Franca123 · 07/12/2021 22:03

I agree, OP. It's mad. Child should be in bed in the warm. But keep well out of it.

Ozanj · 07/12/2021 22:03

Whether a child has a bedtime routine or not is up to their parents, not randoms (and in this case anyone who isn’t offering childcare help to take baby so mum can go watch the football is a random).

daisydoh · 07/12/2021 22:03

YABU what a judgemental post!
