Would you still come to my wedding?

It's this Friday.

We're fully paid etc and desperate to go ahead. Have asked guests to lateral flow beforehand. 96 guests confirmed.

Worried people will think we're mad for pushing on given all the Covid news.

YABU - people secretly won't want to come
YANBU - go ahead and enjoy

Yes

I’ll pm you my address for the invitation

superram · 06/12/2021 18:50

No voting but yes I’d come.

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/12/2021 18:51

Likewise, I’m in!

TinySaltLick · 06/12/2021 18:52

I'll have the lamb

MrsRussell · 06/12/2021 18:53

Yes, of course.

speakout · 06/12/2021 18:53

No- but I dislike weddings, so Covid would be the perfect excuse not to come.

Spottybluepyjamas · 06/12/2021 18:53

Definitely!

TeenMinusTests · 06/12/2021 18:53

If I had been happy to say yes before, then I don't think I'd have changed my mind.
(Though I probably wouldn't have said yes in the first place.)

CormoranStrike · 06/12/2021 18:54

I would think you very reasonable and would happy to oblige - your wedding, your rules

JetRocket · 06/12/2021 18:54

I would come but I suspect most won’t want to it I’m totally honest. Where I live there is a massively anxious atmosphere.

It’s that weird ‘I’m not prepared to stay home myself yet but I equally aren’t comfortable with other people being anywhere near me’ stage. So essentially everyone is still going to the cafes and shops but getting p* off that others are there too.

SleepingStandingUp · 06/12/2021 18:55

Ooh what's the starter choices? I'm in, but can you resend my invite please?

Helpimfalling · 06/12/2021 18:55

Is there food???

If so i will certainly not be passing up the opportunity!

dizzygirl1 · 06/12/2021 18:55

Definitely yes.
I'm making people complete LFT for 20 attendees or more in our office so 96 people is completely understandable.

Userengage · 06/12/2021 18:55

Yes, I’d come - what time and do I need to book a hotel?

OldTinHat · 06/12/2021 18:55

I'll be there! What's your colour scheme? I don't want my face mask to ruin it!

Have a wonderful day OP 🥰

BogRollBOGOF · 06/12/2021 18:55

YANBU, I'd love to go to a wedding!

Just10moreminutesplease · 06/12/2021 18:55

Everything seems to be going ahead as planned near me. I’d definitely come!

MilduraS · 06/12/2021 18:56

Yes I'd come. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone pregnant or with a pre-existing condition might think twice. So far the new variant seems more contagious but not as serious so with my limited risk factors I'm not overly concerned.

521Jeanie · 06/12/2021 18:56

I would come. I wouldn't go for a night out in the pub with eg random colleagues, but a wedding (or a funeral) of someone I liked, I would go to.
Would feel somewhat reassured by your LFT announcement too, so thanks for doing that.

RampantIvy · 06/12/2021 18:57

Only took 6 replies for an "I hate weddings" reply Hmm

I would. I like weddings

luverlybubberly · 06/12/2021 18:57

I'd come. People might get nervous if it was in a month when infections may be higher because of Christmas gatherings but I'm in the lucky position that I don't want to worry about Covid affecting my kids or I as we have age and prior infection on our sides

CloudyStorms · 06/12/2021 18:58

No. I wouldn't have gone pre-omicron either. Not unless it was outside.

ZenNudist · 06/12/2021 18:58

I would if you were my friend.

Knitter99 · 06/12/2021 18:58

I would come but I'd expect a few cancellations. I'm going out with 4 friends on Thursday evening and one has just pulled out.

userxx · 06/12/2021 18:58

Of course.
