Would you still come to my wedding?

It's this Friday.

We're fully paid etc and desperate to go ahead. Have asked guests to lateral flow beforehand. 96 guests confirmed.

Worried people will think we're mad for pushing on given all the Covid news.

YABU - people secretly won't want to come
YANBU - go ahead and enjoy

OP, forgot to say we both woke up on our wedding day thinking we were going to enjoy ourselves whatever was thrown at us, so if something doesn't go to plan, enjoy your day.

Mortgagetransfer · 06/12/2021 20:30

Can I be a bridesmaid? I will bring my own dress. We can have a hen party tomorrow night, I will pull a sickie and spend the day planning.

Missrabbitt · 06/12/2021 20:32

Yes I would go. I think midwives are advising pregnant women not to go to large social events especially at the end of the pregnancy because they and their partner have to give a negative covid test or she gives birth alone. So if you have any preggers guests they might not attend.

Panacotta · 06/12/2021 20:32

Yep I'm in! 🙌🙌🙌
And congratulations OP! 👰‍♂️👰🏾👰🏻‍♀️💐💐💐

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 06/12/2021 20:32

God yeah who doesn't love a winter wedding?! I would go.

JustLarkinAbout · 06/12/2021 20:32

Yes, definitely.

I'd skip the cheek/air kissing and most of the hugging (never liked it anyway). I might hug you or a grandparent or niece/nephew etc. (if you/they wanted to and happy with it, that is).

I'm free on Friday, so if you have spare places and this wedding is within commute of London, you only have to say the word Grin Wine

Samanabanana · 06/12/2021 20:42

Wouldn't cross my mind not to come! Have a great time Smile

polkadotpixie · 06/12/2021 20:43

Definitely, but then I'd happily attend any event, anywhere. I'm triple jabbed and have had COVID though so I'm not overly cautious

Kshhuxnxk · 06/12/2021 20:45

Absolutely providing everyone did an lft!

CharityDingle · 06/12/2021 20:45

Yes, I would be there. BTW, where's my invitation! Grin
Have a great day!

PokemonGoGoGo · 06/12/2021 20:47

No, but I'm massively risk averse.

ShrikeAttack · 06/12/2021 20:56

I would absolutely come. I took my Mum away last week for a three night city-break, we ate out every night, went to the theatre, went to bars etc.

We're both fully vaccinated, aren't worried about unvaccinated people, I wouldn't even be particularly concerned that you were asking for tests, no-one in the hotel or restaurants I was in was asked for a test or vaccination status.

I hope you have a fabulous day with plenty of attendees OP.

irregularegular · 06/12/2021 21:02

I would yes.

chocolateisavegetable · 06/12/2021 21:02

Can I bring a plus 1?

Wafflesnsniffles · 06/12/2021 21:09

Yes Id go! For sure. I wouldnt be a huggin' and a kissin' but Id be there for sure.

EberhardtSmallcock · 06/12/2021 21:14

I'd have done it last year, never mind this year, OP.

ChiefStockingStuffer · 06/12/2021 21:18

I would come if I had said I would.

congratulations. I hope you have a lovely celebration.

TruJay · 06/12/2021 21:28

I’d be so excited, I love weddings, I’d be there.

Marimaur · 06/12/2021 21:28

Weddings and funerals I would kinda make an exception for (i pulled out of my work xmas party and some other social engagements this month) - yes I’d come.

Pascal80 · 06/12/2021 21:34

No, I wouldn't come because Covid would be bad for me and I've known 3 men in their forties severely ill with it.

Pinksloth · 06/12/2021 21:37

Yes, definitely. I'd love to go to a wedding. It would really cheer me up with everything else that's been going on.

ThatScottishLass · 06/12/2021 21:38

We're going to a wedding this weekend 😊

ThatScottishLass · 06/12/2021 21:39

That said we're in Italy where the COVID passport is in force so YMMV

Riverlee · 06/12/2021 21:41

Yes, I’m in.

AdventStar · 06/12/2021 21:44

I would not. If I came and caught it on Friday, I would probably not become ill until about the 15th. That means I am in isolation until Christmas day, or boxing day. No thanks.
