I have been watching the Beatles documentary and got to thinking about her.

She was in the papers constantly in the 2000s, I remember her being painted as an absolute con artist witch. I googled a few articles about her from the time of the divorce. They are brutal in the misogynistic tone, she’s labelled as a slag, a goer, ex prostitute, you name it.

I don’t think papers write about women in such hash terms anymore. Maybe she was a bit of a twat, whoever married Saint Paul would have suffered at that time I think.

I suppose by AIBU is are the press less misogynistic.

She was what my Nan would call an 'interesting character'. I think people remember her for lots of negative reasons. But TBH I've no idea of the positive ones.

I found her difficult to ‘like’ and can’t even express why. That said, I have a deep held belief that Saint Paul was possibly a complete twonk to her.

Yes - I agree with you about the misogynistic press coverage at the time. This was fuelled by Paul McCartney being a 'national treasure' sort of person, so the press leapt to take his side when the pair divorced. I said at the time, and still think, that as with many divorces, there would've been fault on both sides.

I remember HM going on 'dancing on ice' which I thought was brave.

Yes the press were dreadful regarding her.

However on a separate note she was a pretty dreadful person. She has been found to have lied on numerous occasions according to the judge at her divorce hearing. She also poured a jug of water over Paul’s lawyer’s head when the judgement was announced. I think that says rather alot about her as a person.

Name changed, I was friends with her sister (lost touch now) and met Heather a few times. Plenty nice enough but really thought of herself as a big star.

I met her when she and Paul attended a memorial service. There were many, many famous people there (even more celeb and famous than Paul) and she was visibly pissed off that she and Paul weren't the total centre of attention.

She’s hopefully just getting on with her life and is happy. I don’t think being in the lime light made her happy at all.
