I have been watching the Beatles documentary and got to thinking about her.

She was in the papers constantly in the 2000s, I remember her being painted as an absolute con artist witch. I googled a few articles about her from the time of the divorce. They are brutal in the misogynistic tone, she’s labelled as a slag, a goer, ex prostitute, you name it.

I don’t think papers write about women in such hash terms anymore. Maybe she was a bit of a twat, whoever married Saint Paul would have suffered at that time I think.

I suppose by AIBU is are the press less misogynistic.

John did call a meeting at Apple to announce that he was Jesus. Ringo said 'glad we've got that sorted. Let's go to lunch' Grin

LoveMySituation · 17/12/2021 14:52

I really don't think he was 'begging to be shot' More that he was aware of what often happens to figureheads, and possibly a feeling that he'd been violent in the past, so that violence would be coming back to him. Sort of like Instant Karma!

LookslovelyinSpringtime · 17/12/2021 15:06

@EYProvider

By the way, John actually thought he was Jesus Christ. He came back from the trip to New York with Paul, went on a 48 hour bender, called a meeting to announce he was Jesus and then shacked up with his stalker (who just happened to be with Roman Polanski on the first day they met). He was never the same from that day forward.
He was taking a shed load of drugs. These things happen!!
EYProvider · 17/12/2021 15:07

Who knows, @LoveMySituation? You could be right and it might just be a complete coincidence that Chapman was a westward travelling occultist art collector with a Japanese travel agent, psychiatric hospital visiting satantist wife.

Could be!

EYProvider · 17/12/2021 15:11

And who’s to say that Sam Green’s intentions weren’t absolutely pure, or that Kenneth Anger didn’t just happen to be in the wrong place at the right time on those two occasions (that we know of)?

LoveMySituation · 17/12/2021 15:22

Or maybe Paul did it. Y'know cos he found out about John being in love with him, and he didn't want a love triangle situation. Or he wanted to make John the biggest Rockstar ever. Or maybe Olivia, taking revenge for John hitting George that time. Makes about as much sense as some posts on here

EYProvider · 17/12/2021 15:24

Why? Did Paul meet with Kenneth Anger and give him six bullets for John Lennon as well?

LoveMySituation · 17/12/2021 15:32

Oh right, Kenneth's the one who really did it, and Chapman just thought he'd have a trip all the way from Hawaii, watch it happen, then quite happily sit down on the pavement reading The Catcher in the rye, waiting for the police to arrest him for something he didn't do? So Kenneth, being a film director, knew enough about guns to make sure he got hollow points to make sure the job would be done? Right..

EYProvider · 17/12/2021 15:35

Which bit didn’t you understand about the Church of Satan being a front for organised crime?

No one is saying that Chapman wasn’t fucking crazy. As are most people who are brainwashed by cults. He was the perfect stooge.

LoveMySituation · 17/12/2021 15:45

Well, the book I mentioned at some point on ti's thread, by the lawyer, basically said that Chapman was a CIA Manchurian candidate. And that the reason he was in Beirut was to undergo CIA mind control. It was a very interesting book. So if there are already these theories out there, I have no idea why you're so convinced it's Satan's work..

Surely it’s only vulnerable people like Chapman who actually believe in Satan. That’s why they’re so easy to manipulate.

LoveMySituation · 17/12/2021 16:22

You're the one banging on about Satan. The CIA actually exist..

EYProvider · 17/12/2021 16:48

I’m not going to engage with you anymore. You’re purposely misrepresenting what I am saying, and it’s boring.

anonymousobserver · 17/12/2021 17:39

Well I for one have found this thread absolutely fascinating.

I’ve been doing some reading and must say that I agree with EY that the will is highly suspicious. It seems that Kenneth Anger was acquainted with John and Yoko via Robert Fraser, another shady character, as far back as 60s London. I agree with EY that something is not right with the official story here.

Gretaburley · 17/12/2021 17:48

My friend worked with her first dh.
He didn't have a good word to say about her.
Obviously I don't know anymore.

daisiesonmydress · 18/12/2021 08:14

@EYProvider

And no, I don’t believe that Sam Green’s inclusion in John Lennon’s will was innocent. Sam Green was a known hustler who had form for shacking up with women like Ono (rich, gullible, bored). John Lennon was a billionaire in today’s money.

You can believe what you want. I was not born yesterday.

When all your troubles seemed so far away ...

LookslovelyinSpringtime · 18/12/2021 08:53

Yoko’s first husband?
LookslovelyinSpringtime · 18/12/2021 08:55

If Yoko is indeed as manipulative and poisonous as EY is suggesting, I find it hard to believe that Sean loves her so much. He seems like a decent person. Wouldn’t he have taken issue with Yokos’s lover being moved in when John died? Would he not have had doubts about the people surrounding his mother?

LookslovelyinSpringtime · 18/12/2021 08:57

Also Paul has made his peace with her and they seem to get on on a superficial level. Paul helped bring them back together at one stage. Surely he would have seen through her too?

LoveMySituation · 18/12/2021 09:23

Sean was packed off to boarding school in Switzerland. He and Julian are now very close, I suspect he has more of an idea of what went on than it looks like he does

LookslovelyinSpringtime · 18/12/2021 09:38

Yes, could be. Very hard to come to terms with though I imagine.

LoveMySituation · 18/12/2021 13:10

I get the feeling Sean has just looked the other way. He would have been five when the other bloke was moved in, and easy to fob off, and then at school, and although he's close to Julian, Julian will never say anything bad about Yoko( at least now!) so not to hurt Sean (and rightly so). I found out Julian and Sean went to the LA première of Get Back together(I was wondering where the Lennon's were, everyone one else seemed to go to the London one) I think Julian's said watching it made him fall back in love with his father

anonymousobserver · 19/12/2021 13:32

I can’t get past the will or the article linked to above that was actually written by Sam Green. It’s just so incredibly disturbing. In any murder case, the first question you have to ask is ‘who gains?’ Did the police even look into any of this?
