I have been watching the Beatles documentary and got to thinking about her.

She was in the papers constantly in the 2000s, I remember her being painted as an absolute con artist witch. I googled a few articles about her from the time of the divorce. They are brutal in the misogynistic tone, she’s labelled as a slag, a goer, ex prostitute, you name it.

I don’t think papers write about women in such hash terms anymore. Maybe she was a bit of a twat, whoever married Saint Paul would have suffered at that time I think.

I suppose by AIBU is are the press less misogynistic.

A friend of DH was on tour with PM during this ill fated marriage. She was very unpopular due to her dreadful manners - cloying sweet to PM, very rude to those she considered beneath her. The whole tour were very concerned about PM because it was clear that eventually he would learn the truth. They loathed Heather. He was so naive.

Heather Mills is a strong advocate for women as well as those with disabilities. I got talking to her once as a passer by on the street and explained a friend had just had both legs amputated. I gave her the hospital details where he was an in patient and she called him on the ward to have a long chat and give advice as someone who is also an amputee. Heather does a lot of work for charity and raises awareness for good causes. She’s a hard working strong advocate, a modern day Suffragette. People need to give her a lot more credit and respect.
